I really enjoyed that. Brought tears to my eyes actually. Not only was played well it was played with spirit. Lots of great energy behind those compositions (esp KE9) and it really came through in her playing. I'm glad she is sharing her love for this music with others through YouTube and hope she is able to play live. I agree with one of the other bloggers who posted that it is jaw dropping. Which was always what made the live performances of ELP so special.

I've gotten pretty far on this piece, but it occured to me that maybe i should learn the synth and Hammond lines separately. I am a proud owner of a hammond B3.

This has been a great Rachel-thon weekend. I think the C-3 got a good workout. People unfamiliar with ELP would be very impressed by this video; however, people very familiar with ELP ( that's me!) are ecstatic!

Rachel's very first time sitting and playing a Hammond C3 with twin Leslie Speakers. With every passing second that she was experimenting with the drawbars, it felt like the BSS tour was still going!! I think she also got to play the Hammond L100, a Minimoog Model D, a Mellotron, a Minimoog Voyager, Nord Modular Synth, and the ARP String Ensemble. Sounding closer to KE than ever before Rachel :)
