@CatchCatchFish Just a strip of velcro on the bottom of the plane and the opposing piece of velcro on the top of the keychain camcorder. Holds it nice and tight. And nah, didn't remove anything to reduce weight, though that might not be a bad idea. Might have a hard time sticking velcro to it though.
@ludvig218 I've used both the "808" keychain and gumstick style cameras, and both work great. The keychain style works best for forward/backward views, and the gumstick style works best for downward views. There are a ton of different versions of the "808" style; Google "chuck lohr 808" and view the top resulting site, it goes very in depth about the different varieties.
can anyone help me out with this one? I broke the main wing to my champ and thinking about buying a new one. Is it easy to install? how much does the main wing cost, does not say on the manual?
I checked the Hobbyzone website, and the main wing is listed for about $12. I imagine that'll be a fairly common price on any website you check, and probably any hobby stores as well.
I haven't [yet] had to replace the wing on mine, but I can't imagine it'd be that difficult. Unlike the body, I THINK the wing is just glued on, so you'd probably just have to make sure to use a glue that's foam-safe, and of course don't glue too heavily.
@snaps232425 just glue it back together with hot glue. doesnt melt the styrofoam or add too much weight. Make sure the wing is close to the same angle as the other wing otherwise the plane wont take off or fly up. wings range from 5-15$ depending on where u look but replacing it is a pain
great video! It's even more amazing when you realize how small the HZ Champ is! I have a keychain video camera from Ebay that I fly on my champ. I flew it very high last night...I wish now I had used the rear facing perspective like you did here. Great job
You can pick them up on Ebay for relatively cheap. I purchased mine from a U.S. seller for about $20, but you can get them cheaper directly from China. Just search for "key fob camcorder", you'll find a million of 'em!
thats awesome, i got the same plane and will add a cam now.

Great video! How did you mount the camera? Also, did you strip much off of the camera to help make it more lightweight?
