  • The ending of this song always gives me the chills

  • For now, we all have 11 people to find and kill. May Earth laws be damned.

  • This album has such an intense fuckin atmosphere.

  • Why today nobody plays like this? Beautiful melancholic, but powerful black music...

    Nordmenn, synge på norsk!

  • dimmu borgir has their own uniquely beautiful medolic deathly inebriating sound... er...well. they used to.

  • is this silenoz singing?

  • doesnt it feel awesome that a song like this means so much to someone even if its another language? Once is translated you really want to learn norwegian!

  • Tradiçoes nordicas , principalmente norueguesas , isso pura simfonia sombria.

  • Seeing these guys live in November, can't ruddy wait!

  • Seeing these guys live in November, hope to hear this live! Can't ruddy wait!

  • I realize I'm probably a mainstream faggot for saying this, but I love Shagrath's vocals now more than I did back then. His style is more distinctive than those of other vocalists. And the better production on this album made it like, 50 times heavier.

    -puts up flame shield-

  • :) i know this song in english spanish and norsk!!!!!!!! Hails nyc

  • Excellent song!

  • sounds more black and tenebrous than original version, eventhoug, original one is just excellent!!

  • Stormblast are the best Album from DIMMU!!!! I Fly through Black Atmospheres YEA!!!!

  • Everything that humanity has evolved after like 20 centuries was just crushed by this song. Dimmu Borgir shows us, how pathethic we are, unworthy. There is just one way for us - death.

  • If you look at lyrics and the hymn of this , you could feel depressive o-o , but it's still a great song though. glem all kjaerlighet ;p

  • Best song ever omfg I love this version more than older one \m/ HAIL STORMBLAST

  • 3:04 thru the end is so fuckin great!!!!!!!

  • Damned and obscure great album.

  • what a beautiful piece of music this is.

  • The second riff confuses me, it doesn't sound right with the tabs I have for it. Ends on A4, but it sounds like it should end on A3, amirite?

  • not gonna lie man, i usually always take originals over remakes. but this remake is on its own. it almost steps aside as a different song. the intro sounds so much better in this version, and everything is just more powerful. i definetly take this version over the other!

  • This song stays amazing no matter how you record it.

  • Very simillar to "Dimmu Borgir" from the new album. Simillar choirs and main riff imo.

  • @0AllHopeIsGone0 well, obviously you don't make music :)

  • this song is very powerful though i will honestly i prefer the original version since it is much deeper. but thats just my opinion

  • amazin song, finally find this subtitled video, you lead

  • best song ever!

  • Why oh why would they mess with a classic album and cover it in a thousand layers of gloss? Oh yeah, money. I get it. The brainless masses can't handle the poor production of classic black metal. If ever there was proof that Dimmu Borgir are all about the money, this is it.

  • @Avradizimir so what then you trve kvltist? should they starve on a streetcorner? maybe ask satan for a piece of bread? theres nothing wrong with

    A) making money and

    B) growing as a musician and becoming more adept

with a comment like that you display yr true naive thoughts.

  • @twispsalterego i think youre being pretty hard on that dude for his comment....because

    A) they are right

    B) dimmu borgir is no where near any street corners on the verge of starvation or having to ask satan for bread...they are probably doing VERY WELL financially.

    C) fans prefer the bands they like most to stay true to their music and not do things just for money. not that this ever happens anymore, but the point is made.

  • @ARNTORXWINDIRX1184 fuck, you kids. if theres no emoticon you cant tell sarcasm from gospel.

the first sentence WAS sarcastic. thats what all of you would like.

i love dimmus old records, but i also like the new...ehhh the newest album wasnt that great.

lets use an analogy. you like strawberry ice cream, and thats all you eat. but then you discover strawberry cheesecake ice cream, and realize that strawberry can be better if added with other tasty things. cant be trve kvlt forever.

  • @twispsalterego you see, thats just it...i love strawberry ice cream in its original, pure form. when you mess with a good thing, it tends to dilute its goodness thereby creating an ill-intentioned mish-mash of strawberry flavored....shit.

  • @ARNTORXWINDIRX1184 > another elitist prick.

  • the best song of dimmu borgi, i never get tired of hearing... i like

  • Fuck this is sick. I'm buying both old and new Stormblast albums when I get a chance.

  • this sounds like led zepplin...that one song that i heard one time

  • Hey does anyone know of any black metal albums that have a similar sound to this album? Ive tried Satyricons olders stuff, but it doesnt sound like this. Thanks in advance!

  • @EVROEPA Satyricon sounds different but e.g. "Volcano" is a lot better to me, than this one.. check the new cd of dimmu perhaps

  • @shaconstantine No way does their new stuff sound like this!

@EVROEPA check out bands like Apotheosis, immanifest, bathory, etc.

But yeah this is the best track on the album and the remake is much, much better IMO

  • @AndroxineVortex I don't like abracadabra.. sounds like wannabe/acting to me.. and I'm bored with anichristianity

  • @shaconstantine Abrahadabra isn't about antichristanity though...not really.

  • @shaconstantine ABRAHADABRA* LOL

  • @C0bfan666 ABLABLABLABLA

  • @AndroxineVortex Now I listen the ost's from silent hill games.. I recommed to everyone not to listen to just one kind of music over and over and over..

  • @shaconstantine lol u listen to SH osts ? are u serious ? Theyre awesome ^^

  • @AndroxineVortex this version is my fav dimmu song, fa sho.

  • @EVROEPA Difficult..black metal usually uses similar pitches of equalizing... Dimmu Borgir make a difference combining doom and black in this album...Check Empyrium - A Wintersunset (1996 LP) and try Cradle of Filth-Lovecraft & witch hearts...you might like them (as parts of the combination)...

  • @EVROEPA try emperors in the nightside eclipse and the kovenants in times before the light!! I can assure u they r masterpeces!!!!

  • @EVROEPA You should try to listen to Silenoz's personal compositions. You can find them on his myspace, and, well, although you can detect some DB's influences,Silenoz got his own style which is quite interesting ...

  • Comment removed

  • @EVROEPA Actually there isn't that's how fucking awsome and unique Dimmu Borgir used to be :)

  • @EVROEPA Geez, this is tough, old dimmu had a very, very unique sound that no other band has really managed to copy. If you haven't already, listen to Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, which imo is Dimmu's opus magnum. You might also want to check out Old Man's Child. Another band that I find displays striking similarities to old Dimmu is Horna. Their latest, Sanojesi Äärelle, sounds like a slightly less melodic Stormblast to me at times.

  • @EVROEPA Not the same, but maybe some similar feelings Ulver - Bergtatt album "I Troldskog Faren Vild" ? : )

  • @EVROEPA Like Shaconstantine said, 'Satyricon sounds different' this is quite unique and nothing springs to mind as similar.

That's just the way it is ;)

  • @EVROEPA first album by old mans child,

  • @EVROEPA Gorgoroth's "Sign of an Open Eye" is very similar to this song

  • im srry but i don't like this verision :(

  • this song was one of the song's me and my ex loved. it made me cry to listen to it again. it is so beautiful, so melancholy.

  • this is one of the better remakes. i still prefer the original.

  • I like this version more than the old one

  • @CruelleAttitude excellent.. at least one peerson who shares my likes

  • The only Black Metal song that ever touched me and one of the best songs I know.

  • God i remember the days when the original album came out in 96'. I was 14 years old back then and i grew up with this band. It has past 14 years and still...it'll probably haunt me forever altough i don't listhen to this music anymore. This si classic.

  • This album changed my life.. i lived a dream ..

now i seem to be waking from it.

    this be thy lullaby

  • the best video with lyrics i've seen.

  • ta płyta jest świetna. Moja ulubiona DM. Taka klimatyczna, specyficzna, mroczna, nie ma 'rzeźni" jak ja to nazywam. Great. 5/5 za płytę i songi:)

    \m/

  • I want to get these lyrics tattooed on me:)

From an outsiders opinion, I would believe that black metal was a brotherhood. When I see the credits on some of the old BM albums, they all thanked each other. No matter what image of 'every man for himself' they put out there, I seriously believe these dudes saw each other as brothers, or at least friends. I may be wrong, but there's something to those songs.

Maybe, new black metallers can form a brotherhood like the great ones possibly did.

  • To me, this version doesn't sound as tight as the original. This sounds more like a rush job. The drums on the original were far more tighter with a much more technically proficent, progressive kick drum performance that punctuated the song more emotionally. This version is also a bit faster than the original, which takes away from the oppressive feel that made it classic.

  • Dimmu Borgir has nothing to do with satanism. Its what they say themselves. They are artists, that is also the reason why they remade this album

  • THIS IS A AWESOME ALBUM TOO!!!!!!!

  • My interpretation of this song is the embracing of lichdom. Many black metal songs cover this, like Final Ritual by Dark Funeral for example. In death lies all might, the slashing of one's arteries with a ritual knife... all of this just to arise to a new eternal life in undeath.

  • Can this song be classified as depressive suicidal black metal?

  • @SaturnineXTS I dont think so, maybe Den gjemte sannhets hersker or Det nye riket

  • From the heart of a tortured soul in the dead of winter.

  • WoW, excelent music!

  • i really love this song! Favorite album from Dimmu Borgir

  • I think everyone in the black metal scene is trying to be uberkult and troo. If you think theres some ultra troo band out there that defines black metal in all categories, there isn't. I can tell you that HERE with one of the more popular bands. There is no such thing as true uberkultness, either you like this black metal or you dont. Every band is different and none of them are 100% black in all definitions. Get together what you like and listen to it and other music, broaden your mind.

  • @Samael16661 whatever.. I don't get this bullshit... every genre of music is black that is satanic, listen to lady gaga for example. There's lust or whatever sin there is. But where it comes to black metal I think dimmu is not a good example of it.

  • @shaconstantine That wasn't what i was saying. Anyway for me the first 2 records are masterpieces for me. Well i listen to A LOT of other black metal ( or used to) and i was always looking for that extra edge of blackness, and anway, hardly any good black metal is "satanic" if you want that go listen to cheesy Belphegor with their zombie satanic goats. The only 2 bands i could find that had something that you could call that edge were Abruptum and Mistigo Varggoth Darkestra.

  • @shaconstantine The first two records are a good example and thats indisputable. And to generalise lady gagas "lust" with the extremes it can take merely described, not lived as a virtue in black metal isnt right - this isnt the BEST example but it is one. Because theres a lot of different Black Metal out there its hard to pick any band thats a really good example.

  • @shaconstantine

hey kid... SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH. OK? :)

  • @BeHeMoThIzBeSt1 fuck u!

  • i like the og version more

  • @skankandmosh it's bcuz ure an idiot

  • @shaconstantine hell no the og version was way better cuz it's old school black metal not modern day black metal modern day black metal is lame cuz it's mainstream and new upcoming bands are trying to to be like the originals

  • @shaconstantine Not an idiot just a guy with a different opinion... fucking retard

  • @skankandmosh I like both versions of the album. The old one is rawer, but the new one brings more dimensions to the music.

  • I listened this kind of music for some period of time, before I listened to rap, rock, after black metal I listened to trance, psytrance etc.. people try not to be narrow minded and limit urself to some kind of music, the world is much bigger.

  • @shaconstantine agreed im a fan of few black metal bands like Dimmu Borgir and Emperor...but im also quite big on the industrial/industrial rock scene with groups like KMFDM skinny puppy NIN manson and im also big on classic rock as well with groups like alice cooper and bowie.

  • @hellchild65 sorry but.. do i know u?

  • @shaconstantine lol why? u know someone who likes similar groups as me?

  • @hellchild65 oh man tell me more becuase i care so much

  • this is my favorite group i love all there songs

  • this song is about true friendship, ppl you can trust, who will never forget about you

  • Amazing. I won't say it's better or worse than the origional. It just has a different feel.

  • The original is a lot more ambient, relaxing, and slower paced. If you like metal as much as I do some songs you could almost fall asleep to, and I love that. The remake appears to be a lot more intense and that appeals to my mood at times as well. Different flavors, but I think overall I prefer the original release of Stormblast.

  • The original is lullaby black metal.

  • 3:04 onwards is end of the world worthy if you know what I mean.

  • never listened to this band mainly because ppl in the black metal community shun them as if they were the plague. this album is good tho. just a shame i can't shake the image of all the wannabe metallers back in highschool with the dimmu hoodies thinkin they were uber kvlt

  • A Harsh Winter Embrace

  • this song is THE SHIT

  • damn i loooove the darkness in this song, they were for sure in "the moment" when they made this one :)))))))

  • ok the only reason any band would do a reissue of an entire album

    (re done and enhanced)

would b bcuz they didnt have the material they have now

this is how Dimmu wanted the songs to realy sound or else they would left them alone in the 1st place

ppl fail to realize that the band was formed to create thier own music

    of thier own interest.

Its thier songs & they can do as they please. Its thier desire to create music & change it as they please because they manipulate it in the 1st place

  • this song is soooo awesome

  • awsome song

  • i love the stormblast album it has alot of old songs on it for all metal heads to enjoy

  • I have an other opinion...I like both versions! I like to hear a song in different ways for any type of music and bands! I enjoy the change for one song. I like Shagrath's voice in both and you can just hear how they evolved. Of course, I like the old Dimmu best but I still enjoy their newer songs. Anways...that's my opinion ^^

  • it's shit

the original version is the best

  • Where can I download this one? I only have the 1996 version, but this one's sweet too.

  • This song is like whiskey to me.

  • stops copies me

  • best music track ever made. this is pure evil.

  • bhuhh everything's pure evil.. Ive begun to hate this fukin emotionality in music.. listen to anal cunt

  • you don't understand what I meant. The melody, the lyrics, everything sounds like a satanic chant. Dimmu are really good at doing that, it isn't everyday you hear stuff like this. It really comes from the heart.

  • my fucked up fanatic catholic dad sounds like satanic chant to me and this isn't funny at all

  • majestic blackness

  • This song is pure expression

  • Awesome!

  • you suck!

  • This is great! Love the music :D

And i see someone has too much time on their hands by the comments... As if whoever that is will change one`s opinion and like of this music!

  • you will face the demonic presence of my foot up your ass

  • Lol!

  • dude, lets examine this, any form of religion causes suffering, whether it's the christian oppression o the church in the medval times or the taliban rule in the east, any form of religion ultimatly ends up in suffering, come to your senses, there is no satan, there is no God, just people, and any love they will express between eachother :) peace

  • This is Art dude! not satanism!

  • Sorry for you but it is also satanism, or better anti-christianism.

  • its entertainment

  • Or it could be just a metal song? That was re-recorded :o?

  • yeah

  • the first version was shit.. ever wondered why they RE-RECORDED the whole cd? that fact itself should be the answer

  • Wow your opinions is terrible. The first version is the BEST version. It has better atmosphere, and the vocals are not watered down Hot Topic metal screams.

  • @Kataxu Yeah Dimmu has really fucked up. To bad cause I relly liked them.

  • fuck you!

  • They hate us and wanna harm us because humans that believe in Jesus and stay away from sin are meant to take their places in the sky, the positions from which they fell. "Share our hate with us". You can see clearly the demonic deception at the following point: if they say "forget ALL love" they how come you are a "brother" to them ("Come young brother"). These are the same beings that deceived us in the first place (Genesis, Chapter 3).

  • spare me this bullshit.. we all know what the bible says.. what YOU pseudo followers of Jesus don't realize is that you don't follow a single word that came from his mouth.. you just talk shit, but on the existential level are like anybody else!

  • People, don't be deceived. If the track is beautiful, it does not mean it cannot harm the soul. A poison that tastes good, is still poison. This track is just a sample where you can see who is behind the creative process in black metal. Satanism is not a "useful metaphor" as some black metal theoreticians point out. The demons are real, and you can see their hand in the lyrics of this song. "Fight our war with us" - "our" war ? This is about their ancestral hatred on mankind

  • you would probably have a different mindset if you had a parent who is a narrow-minded religious fanatical tyrant, who has made you believe that you are evil ever since you were a child just to satisfy his egotistical lust for "evangelization", and beat you if you didn't want to pray, and always criticized all your interests whatever they were because the only hobby he always had was church and tv.. I'm sure then you'd see religion as a hypocritical cancer that makes the world rotten

  • Lol there are ppl who still believes in satan? xD

  • Sadly,there is.

  • So you looked up a black metal song just to comment against it? Isnt that sort of a waste of time?

  • @Hyoumah83 It's just music you silly ;-)

  • You are a silly person.

  • and you will be happy listening to a insane controlling god ? for fucks sake man read the bible front to back, and yes thier are elite thats a law of nature, evolution in body and soul is what brings someone to be elite

  • you're a big pussy, and you've fallen so low that you reached your hand out to be brainwashed, like so many others that have fallen. You've lost all glory and honor, and become nothing but a pawn to a false god.

  • God told me to tell you that you are a nigger.

  • Solidne napisy, i kozacka muzyka. Pozdro

  • Yey, polish sub, thanks!

  • good song, but sorgens kammer-del 2 is still the best of the 2005 stormblast

  • Even if this is evil, and probably has a high price in the end, if I lived in a war-tormented epic age, and someone spoke to me like this I would be very tempted to actually join the Ring of Brotherhood, and end up like the creature on the pic! This is so hypnotizing and seducing. It transmits so much power, comfort and stillness!

  • I know the feeling my friend

  • you are exactly right my friend

  • i think both are great....really great!!

i dont compare these two versions.i judge them individually as they both encompass different elements even though its actually the same album

  • How could dimmu re-record this album? It's allright, but far not as good as the original.

It's too extreme, the original was heavy as hell!

  • agreed.

  • Wow!

    The lyrics are just great!

And the music is awesome, too. I like the remastered version more than the original.

  • Comment removed

  • Says the nigger.

  • the lyrycs are so powerfull

  • Alt+0248 is the ø

  • without the presence of keyboard in some parts it sucks like the old version a lot more

  • The best fucking song I love!!!!!!!

  • I love this song, many thanks for the lyrics and translation!

  • dimmu borgir owns :P my hol famly listen to them ^^ started to them so fast as a was born ^^ norwegian black metal 4 life

  • it's actually stormbläst (read stormblost) which means blown out of the storm

  • Actually, it's 'Stormblåst'.

  • i'm from Slovenia, so my keyboard doesn't have all the norwegian letters...i know it's that way but the closest letter to this o is ä...but anyway i only care the music is good

  • Theres just something about this version i dont like that i cant put my finger on, prefer the older version...but thats just my opinion

  • I like both versions, the video response is also low quality and doesn't do the original song any justice.

  • wow......amazing

  • Dude, this includes lyrics??? Awesome!! And translation! Best Dimmu vid ever. You should add "lyrics" into the title, I would've been here sooner.

  • the lyrics have to be red, to give highest pleasure of this epic, dreamy and heavenly darkness!!! amazing, can't believe something like this was created!!
