Mr. Rawn, your voice is remarkably comfortable on the top notes. In this and other arias I especially like the NATURAL unforced intonation, the closest I've heard to Pinza. No, your voice is not the same as Ezio's, but it has that soaring ease, rounded, rock solid depth that I, an envious tenor, enjoy, my personal preference.
JIMMY ~ From the Palisades to Eugene, warm musical & personal greetings hereby sent to you & TERESITA. Your very well thought-through compliment for this rendition ~ (of an aria which may be Verdi's greatest for bass) ~ means a great deal coming from such a very fine tenor as you, Thanks Pal~! ANDY
From a fellow basso, this is special praise indeed and you might like to know this particular recording has won some other outstanding commentary along the way ~ my special thanks to you for yours!
As some your videos feature recordings by Bechi, you might enjoy knowing that while studying technique with Franco Corelli (in Milano), I once asked him which singer he liked and he paused, then answered: Gino Bechi.
Ouf, come from you I'm not surprised. Memorable(Act1, sceneII) opera arias, wonderful. Verdi rarely utilised the high C in his arias, I dont know why? Your performance rewarding for me, great moment.

Ruggiero Raimondi's recording of this classic Verdi aria is truly wonderful.
We are very proud of the long line Andy established as the aria unfolded in this live-concert recording, now on CD.
And ~ he has also received some outstanding critical praise for this very rendition.
So, we have room for both basses in our cities' music libraries!
