The pilot would fly directly at the formation and eject just before the plane hit a bomber, then the explosive would destory several planes. Thankfully they ran out of everything needed to put these things into production.
Well, let's say the ME262 was delayed into service by over a year due to lack of engines and the need to Streghen the Fuselarge, to carry bombs (Under Hitlers Orders) if it never needed to have bombs fitted it would have be slighter earlier into Service, Plus Most the Time the ME 262's Over Shot the B-17s and they flew quite fast compared to the B-17G, also the only way they got shot down was on Landing and Take Off
I believe that on the tecnical side, the Me was a better plane, way ahead of its time.
It was meant to shoot down bombers though, not a real dogfighter, imagine how hard it must have been to steer that at high speeds.
If a P-51 got to dogfight against it, it might even have better chances than the Me, if it didn run away (which would be impossible for the p-51 to catch up)

I can agree with that 100%. The Germans at the end, were pushing the envelope in new technologies and designs. They sacrificed the reliability that comes after prototype development, early productions, and then final mass production with all refinements included. Look at the Komet, VI, V2, even the Tiger tank which was ferocious but unreliable.

Me-262's shot down about 600 allied planes with the loss of a bit more than 100, even though they were vastly outnumbered in each fight. The same was with Tigers, after the Normandy assault, when most western soldiers encountered them for the first time, they got a Tigerphobia XD But at that time, the Germans were running out of... everything, so the numbers won.

P51s had maneuverability and speed that combined made them better. they also got me262s in the air.
