However, the referance you have found is on the Brazil-Peru border in the state of Amazonas in the vale do javari. @Raymasaki : I'd argue they have clean water from the rivers, nutrition from the forest (animals, fruit, nuts, berries etc), health care from the forest (It's surprising how many modern medicines are derived from plants in the Amazon forest) education from tribal elders in their customs, history, how to survive in the forest, clothing from animals & plants, and likewise shelter - those huts seem quite substantial. If you believe in a free world, why did you say they should be contacted & helped?

lol people seem to have got the wrong end of the stick with this being so called "fake". they are a real tribe, Mascho Piro in fact but were already known for something like 100 years so they were not recently discovered which is why the story was questioned but the tribe itself is suppose to be very isolated. i also read up on a more well known tribe who tell of being violently attacked by the Mascho Piro who silently but relentlessly raided their camp for steel objects such as knives and pots

Media outlets were calling this a hoax because they misunderstood the original release. They believed the original release was indicating a LOST tribe had been discovered, when in fact it was made explicit that this was an UNCONTACTED tribe being documented.
The tribe is very real and deforestation of the rain forests remains a threat to their way of life.

This is NOT a fake. It is actual footage of an actual uncontacted tribe, exactly as purported to be when it was released to the media. The media, however, was too incompetent to read a simple press release and understand that "uncontacted" is not "lost." When the media realized their mistake, they blamed the organizations who released the info rather than admitting they - the media - were incompetent and irresponsible.

Also, it was NOT a "publicity stunt." It was an attempt to prove to government policy makers - who denied that there are tribes living in these areas - that these tribes are there. And to plead with the government that loggers and miners should not just be handed these areas with the freedom to destroy them and the very real people living there.

Here are the men, preparing to fight off the helicopter, which probably appears to them as some sort of giant mosquito god.
