Quadrajets have a bad name because theyhave tend to leak and flood easily. But truth be known they are capable of 750 cfm and are the most fuel efficient because of the small lids up front and using bigger (4 barrel) lids out back only used in wot
@1320runner **scratches head** well i'm no stranger to the taste of humble pie!!! ROF-LMAO However, I still find it hard to believe that any device that operates under a vacuum condition that has overlap, friction, ineficient rings, blowby, and a carberator can pull off such a feat. but again, thats just my old tired uneducated abused no sleep havin undernourished sick eccentric mind speaking. <:o) **whispers** look at Nascar engines with 11/16"( i think ) restrictor plates 800 HP @8200 rpm
Do the math guys, 1728ci= 1 cfm . A 454 @ 6000 RPM @ 100% volumetric efficeincy is 788.195 CFM. Now, show me one engine thats naturally asperated and 100% volumetrically efficient, and I'll kiss your tailpipe <:o)
P.S. don't forget it's only 454 CI every 720 degrees I.E. devide 454 by 2 before doing the math <:-)~~~ I built a 467.2 CI with a 750 double pumper and 11.75;1 pistons that put out around 575 HP and I turned it 8200 to a shift. Pretty Puny Sissy Little Wimpy motors dont win races!!
@WelLRoundeDSquarE Was just noting your comment... and I'm no expert, but I believe NHRA Pro Stocks (500 CI max, and naturally aspirated by rule) routinely eek out 100%+ Ve. It's nothing a couple of hundred grand in R&D and parts can't come up with, lol.
