"Unhip" or not (depending upon one's definition), Nanci Griffith is my favorite singer, and does a great job with Adam Duritz on this!

There is a great almost subliminal echo in this song, on the line "blinded by the sun, washed in the rain" an echo of Lowell George's great opening line in "Willin'", "warped by the rain and driven by the snow". Very poetic writing, so full of visual lyric and echos of the great classic alt country songs down through the years. Wonderful stuff.
