I love this song, and it's a shame it was only 1:44, but people are way too obsessed with Klaine. Lea Michele blows Darren out of the water in her voice and acting abilities. But I still enjoy Darren. :-)

I don't understand why everyone thinks glee's scene with this song is so beautiful. Yes, the song is beautiful but the lyrics call for a wedding vows, death won't part. Clearly it's not a sexual song at all. If they wanted a sexual song from West Side Story they could have done the rumble song or the real verison of somewhere where they supposedly had sex after singing. This was just a sad misinterpetation to get viewers from MTV.

on lea and naya's behalf, i think they are peeeerfectly cast for the west side story songs. i dont think darren criss has a very strong voice. he can hold a tune, but he doesnt have a natural vibrato, in my opinion he isnt very "musical theatre". but the others did fabulously.

@ImTheJake Though I agree Naya is absolutely perfect as Anita, I believe that as a piece intended to convey the emotion of the episode, Lea was strongly lacking. Though she sings in a perfect broadway edition, she lacks the emotional depth Darren puts into the piece. His voice is filled with love and intensity, while Lea sounds like she's just singing the (perfect, beautifully done) plain version of it. So yes, Darren isn't broadway perfect. But he achieves more depth and honesty than Lea does.

What you're saying is Lea is just hitting the right notes with no emotional depth while Darren encompasses emotional depth? I thoroughly disagree. I think they both are amazing. Don't forget that it's Rachel playing Maria and Blaine playing Tony...so the characterization by the actor, Lea and Darren has to be spot on, and i think it is.
