i think the reason for the splash range of ultras was because i remember seeing a zerg player with two or three ultralisks at a terran's wall-in and he could'nt break through because there were so many scvs that were repairing it. so as a result the zerg player gged out of the game. (and those ultras were pretty much all he had left going for him)
I'm not completely sure on this, but I think now when scv's mass repair the planetary fortress they are counted as part of the fortress, that's why the ultralisk could hit all of them.
It's not like people couldn't use stopwatches outside the game already.
The timer just adds a touch of accessibility.
Letting green players get better doesn't matter to the average experienced player. Unless you think your special and you want to make it harder so you stay that way.

Countless times I've gone to matchmaking in platinum and seen the same ONE build for each race. Zerg: 14pool 16hatch Terran: 10supply 12rax Toss: 4-gate. It's beginning to take out a small portion of the skill component that RTS need to have. Also, I seriously doubt people actually used timers IRL. That's just tryhard. New players think too highly of build orders and forget M/m completely

If you see a Ultralisk(s) attacking your command center(s), don't even bother to repair it, instead load up, lift off your command center get your workers out of there into those transport units immediately, and evacuate!

Ultralisk fixed with 1.1.1, also the clock, well it's like getting a mod in WoW that allows you to almost on the dot recast or apply dot/hot spells so you don't waste synergy.
It's a cheap gimmick used by newer players but I suspect the more advanced ones will use their guts and experience than a clock.
@FaintSnow I don't see anything wrong with not being able to repair a building being attacked by Ultra. Good for the Zerg. Kill the Ultras and you can repair it to full in seconds. It is not like you are required to build a PF either.

i think the cleave mechanic works in damaging an area around the target it is hitting, so the hitting the command center would hit all the stuff around the command center, like wise, hitting a marine will hit ground things around the marine
i think they should keep the clock but make it go away in league games, and have an option to turn it off on custom game lobby. it kinda makes the game too technical, no fun lol

I don't think that Blizzard was intending for the build orders to be affected with the clock because I'm one of those people who want achievements that require you to do something in a limited amount of time.
battlecruisers: what's the point of teching to big ships with big guns if you fire like zerglings attack? I don't see a point in this nerf.
And Ultralisks' splash damage (was it only ultra or all units that have splash damage). This was somewhat a good change. Have you tried to kill a planetary fortress when 50 scvs are repairing it?! Like Blizzard I don't know a better way to make it easier for zerg.

Food; Will show your current situation. Taking in count that you have been harrased. Food is still the better option saying you play good.
I don't understand your timing complaints. "You can just write down builds and look at the clock." People do that with supply right now and you've already said that using supply for timings was a good thing. This really isn't going to do anything, if anyone wanted a timer for builds, they probably already have their cellphone propped up against their monitor.

Actually an ingame clock is very good - ppl who wanted to play with timer could use their own clock outside the game (and just scale the ingame faster times to normal time - simple math) - ingame clock evens it out.
It's just like with the Counter-Strike when ppl often used to put a little dot on the center of monitor to have a crosshair when using unzoomed AVP...

I'm not completely sure on this, but I think now when scv's mass repair the planetary fortress they are counted as part of the fortress, that's why the ultralisk could hit all of them.

Fixed an issue where the Phoenix's Graviton Beam was automatically canceled if you used it just after the Phoenix reached 50 energy.
Fixed an issue where queuing Return Cargo on a worker would cause it to ignore the built-in delay after it finished gathering.

i think the cleave mechanic works in damaging an area around the target it is hitting, so the hitting the command center would hit all the stuff around the command center, like wise, hitting a marine will hit ground things around the marine

battlecruisers: what's the point of teching to big ships with big guns if you fire like zerglings attack? I don't see a point in this nerf.
And Ultralisks' splash damage (was it only ultra or all units that have splash damage). This was somewhat a good change. Have you tried to kill a planetary fortress when 50 scvs are repairing it?! Like Blizzard I don't know a better way to make it easier for zerg.

Disagree about the timer crap... I mean, if someone does time-based strategy instead of supply/minerals in the bank based strategy then sucks be him for the slightest harras would change all timings... hell, if you can find a system for all timing based play then you can find a system for mineral/supply count based play. What's the big difference?

Timer vs Foodcount.
Timer will desplay you and your opponents progress probably. It will give you alarming notes such as "WHen the first reapers arrive or WHen 4 gate pushes come". Though I does not take in the process of the game. Saying it started with alot of harras, that will give timelagg in everything.
Food; Will show your current situation. Taking in count that you have been harrased. Food is still the better option saying you play good.

I don't understand your timing complaints. "You can just write down builds and look at the clock." People do that with supply right now and you've already said that using supply for timings was a good thing. This really isn't going to do anything, if anyone wanted a timer for builds, they probably already have their cellphone propped up against their monitor.

Actually an ingame clock is very good - ppl who wanted to play with timer could use their own clock outside the game (and just scale the ingame faster times to normal time - simple math) - ingame clock evens it out.
It's just like with the Counter-Strike when ppl often used to put a little dot on the center of monitor to have a crosshair when using unzoomed AVP...
