To make things even worse,The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, in 1987, inducted Smokey by himself, and left the other Miracles out. Totally unfair. Had Motown not changed their name from "The Miracles" to "Smokey Robinson & The Miracles", the WHOLE GROUP would have been inducted The Miracles were Motown's First Group. Their success opened the doors for all of the others. Berry Gordy said 2 years ago,. "Without The Miracles,(all of them, not just Smokey), Motown, as we know it today,would not exist"

@williamg2552 True that! we can go even deeper than that what about the funk brothers without them there would be no Motown they played on everything! They got the biggest diss imo. I guess like most groups when the front man (who in the Miracles case was a main writer for the group as well as many other groups at Motown) got the publicity/promotion not saying it's right it just business and I can understand it. @poundcake67 Many thanks, poundcake67!!Right now, I'm working with a group of people (Smokey included) who are trying to get THE MIRACLES inducted into the RRHOF in 2012. They have never even been nominated in the entire 25 year history of the RRHOF. These people are all in their 70's .I and others like me, would like to see them get their due before they pass on. Ronnie White is already deceased. Let's get them in while the rest are still alive to share the honor.

@poundcake67 It's not that. It's just that you listed on the top of this page "Smokey Robinson- Much Better Off" instead of "Smokey Robinson & The Miracles- Much Better Off" . (by the way , the group was originally known simply as "The Miracles" on the 45's and the album covers, for 8 years. ) As a big Miracles fan for many years, I, and many others like me , have not been happy that The Miracles have never received their due as one of the greatest groups in music history. They deserve better.
