Even so, the Shinkansen isn't the fastest in the world. The fastest conventional rail (IE not maglev) in the world is the TGV in France. It managed 574.8km/h in a recent test run. The TGV also runs the fastest long distance run with an average speed of 306km/h.

this train isn't that long actually. it depends on what u consider as "long". maybe the subway system you are used to take consists of only 3 cars, maybe it consists of 10 or more. therefore some ppl may consider this subway train as long, some ppl may not

Is there someone with a radar gun (or some other measurement device) to see how fast they are going?

Mostly of our trains in stockholm are not going faster than 40-50 km/h when they arrives (i guess they are pretty boring compared to NYC trains or the train in this video). But they can do a 80-90 km/h arrival without problems - our C20 cars can decelerate about 2 m/s²

This train is kind of short. I've seen ten or eleven cabins per each train. There are express trains too. Which will be runnning at over 100km/h(62~63mph I think)
