  • Yeah! We don't need any troops on the border. He means just with Canada right? It'd be really easy to say we don't need military patrols to keep out roving bands of Canucks. How about Mexico? You know the border that has bands of 40 people coming over escorted by guards with automatic weapons.

Don't make the drugs argument. The border problems are as much because of human transportation as drugs. Also establishing a small 5-10 mile zone along the border wouldn't have the domestic consequences.

  • How do you get all of this; Troops coming home, traumatizing and pillaging citizens from, "Secure Our Borders"?

  • The more I watch the Ridley Report the more I think that Ridley is a neocon in libertarian clothing. :(

  • Thank you for speaking up against injustice, even when it hurts you politically. I love Ron Paul, possibly to an unhealthy level, but there are a few opinions of his which I'm not sure how he arrives at. Borders is the biggest one. If a government program is abusive and doesn't work, we need to abolish it, not do more of it. Dr. Paul can apply this logic to the drug war easily enough. Why he can't do to it border "security" is beyond me.

  • I was pulled out of my truck and cuffed for no reason. when I expressed discontent they strangled me while still in cuffs. found out the strangler was just hired as police out of military.

  • I agree with Ridley.

  • This is the most ridiculous video I have ever seen.

  • that pastor that got tazed is a right wing fanatic, who sincerely believes that homosexuals should be executed by default. i am happy those pigs roughed him up.

  • @ShpinxiLotus23 and i have met one of the border people he fought against driving thru the border check. he is not a good person. he would not stop interrogating me about wether or not i have mushrooms in my car, simply because i look like a hippy with oregon plates.

  • Ridley, I respect your opinion. However, you completely missed the point. He was mostly referring to bringing the National Guard back within our states. Also, he was trying to convey that we should stop paying for "militarism" and continue "defense." I cannot be part of this suspiciously misguided hit piece on a Ron Paul ad targeted to those who still live in fear of terrorism.

    UNSUBSCRIBED

  • Ridley on the talking head payroll now??

  • Right on, Ridley. That ad seemed off to me too.

  • to many statist watch your vids. But the ad might have been amed at neocons

  • This is hands down the worst video I have ever seen out of Ridley. I have always thought he was far too much of a pacifist to really make shit happen and this one proves it. If you freestaters think that the non violent thing is going to work again. You are wrong. They are letting you play your little game and gathering up your asses on your own volition. If you think tie dye shirts and Ben and Jerrys are going to save this world you are fucked. Try being a responsible badass. Shoot back.

  • @87cadillachearse What is this nonsense about me being a pacifist? Did you just skip over Ridley's Bazooka Freedom Plan? You think pacifists organize open carry litter pickups and wear glocks? LOL.

  • @RidleyReport Balls up Rid. You and the whole NH prorgram are a bunch of hippie weed smokers who think they know the score. Did you serve? Fuck off if you did not. I did and I never get a "thank you for your service". You want to talk shit about Ron Paul? He served. He is the greatest American that ever fucking lived. I smoke weed and I work my fucking ass off. You and your bullshit freedom movement can kiss my ass. They will eat you.

  • @87cadillachearse "He is the greatest American that ever fucking lived."

You sound like the member of a cult. This whole Ron Paul campaign is slowly becoming one, and this is evident by the things his supporters say. He's a man, not a god, not even a prophet, just another politician stealing your money via taxes and exercising power over you.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123 Far from a cult. He has never stolen a fucking dime from me. I can tell you straight up that Romney, Perry and Cain have. If freedom and ones abiility to make their own way is a cult to you then you have issues. I am tired of paying losers to come and give me my money back. What I do for a living is something you need and you are far too stupid to do it.

  • Go read about the tens of thousands killed in Albania when it fell apart.

  • Nothing in the Ron Paul ad said he would put troops on the border, there were photos of the Coast Guard then it goes into rebuilding our defenses. Your all wrong about Ron Paul!!

    I am now unsubscribed!

    Ron Paul 2012 or BU$T !!

  • I agree with you Ridley! Spot on! The military should be dismantled, not deployed!

  • @straffsats

Can you name any country that has survived without a military?

  • @RetSquid Costa Rica.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

Very interesting. But the U.S. could not do it, we have too much of value to be undefended.

  • @RetSquid "...we have too much of value to be undefended."

    Huh?

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

Do you lock the door of your car if you go to the mall?

  • @RetSquid I don't have a car. And I usually leave the door to my college dormroom unlocked since I trust the people in my building.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

And if you didn't trust them would you lock the door? Or just hope your stuff would still be there when you got back?

  • @RetSquid Honestly, I only own a handful of items (laptop, cell phone, camera) which most people would consider "valuable". I've found that detaching myself from the love of "stuff" has improved my relations with others.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

Countries that do that soon cease to exist.

  • @RetSquid Gift economies cause civilizations to stop existing?

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

Gift economies fail due to lack of motivation.

  • @RetSquid Which is why there's cultures in existence today that have had gift economies since the dawn of humanity.

Or why the Spanish anarchists created an efficient and successful gift economy in Catalonia during 1936-39.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

    "successful gift economy in Catalonia"

That sure lasted a long time....

  • @RetSquid The fascists were receiving much more aid from the Nazis than the republicans or anarchists. Do your research dude.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

    Non Sequitur

  • @RetSquid No. The reason Anarchist Catalonia no longer exists is because the fascists whom the anarchists and marxists (and republicans) were fighting against were able to take it over. The marxists and republicans also stabbed the anarchists in the back pretty bad.

  • @straffsats lol wtf...dismantle military we are doomed...all this country has andyou dont think it will be attacked?? wtf is wrong with you people ...nothing wrong with using them for nations defense...just as long as the do their role..america cnt just back down like that ...reason the world isnt in chaos attacking eachother is cause of US...sad thing is we started letting the power corrupt the goverment...and THE PEOPLE LET THAT HAPPEN...dont shift blame on our military blame selves

  • our boys need to come home and defend us...not patrolling non stop...but be here if we need them...and spending money at home....just cause goverment keeps being crooked dont mean our boys should come home and do their job under a good leadership ...someone like ron paul..the nazi style check points need to be done away period...ron paul just saying defend our borders cause shit is gonna hit the fan...and is talk bout enemies coming from mexico ...not to mention the drug cartel.

  • Ron Paul has fallen out of favor with me. To bad many Ron Paul supporters think he is above criticism.

  • @frostedpornflakes HOW COME IF I MAY ASK

  • @tonyteb Specifically the things he said concerning religion about three months ago started to turn me away. However, I'd also suggest you google "Ron Paul Shrimp." Also I pulled up his voting record a few months back and found that there were things I think he should of voted yes for like "Expanding definition of a hate crime to include felonies motivated by prejudice based on national origin, sexual orientation, or gender identity of the victim." Sorry if this is incoherent not a lot of room.

  • @frostedpornflakes well im with him for not voting for that hate crime bill

  • agree with ridleys message. But ron paul is trying to win the nomination. he's gonna have to spin a yarn to get the dumb rednecks to vote for him.

  • i'd like to point out there is a difference between a strong National Defense, and Militaryism. we have out of control nation building, military intervention. we need to stop this and build a strong Defense in-country. Stronger borders, get citizens active in participating promoting a view of our nation Soveirgnty . That is what i get from Ron Paul between the lines, and i've been following him ALOT.

  • this makes sense why so many thumbs down

  • i agree ridley.

  • Bad call.

  • Ridley, I'm a Voluntaryist and I agree that we don't need government to protect us, but for gosh sakes, Ron Paul is running to win the nomination of the Republican Party, not the Rothbardian party. Most people would be confused by Ron's true position on immigration because its nuances require a well-informed and intelligent electorate to understand. Do you think he'd have a shot in hell if he went "full Ancap" in his ads? Don't make the perfect the enemy of the good.

  • @RationalDischarge If Ron Paul is "full Ancap" in the sense that he is for open borders, then HE IS A TRAITOR. Not only is he a traitor, but he is not the strict Constitutionalist he claims to be.

"...to secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY..."

Some of us would desperately like to ignore that word, wouldn't we? Who do you think the Founders were talking about when they said "POSTERITY", the Chi-coms? The "reconquistadors"?

  • @RationalDischarge Didn't Rothbard advocate for "an"-caps to take power and, once in power, start privatizing everything?

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

Not really. Rothbard argued for the latter part, although never "take power" part. He explicitly mocks people who thought that taking power could work for good.

BTW, Are you done playing with your commie friends, yet?

  • @utubehayter Define "playing".

  • I don't think he wants them securing the border like the Korean DMZ or even using the army at all. He just wants to make border security more competent.

  • Please look more toughly into Ron Paul's Thoughts on the military budget.

  • It isn't our troops we have to worry about. It's the UN troops that will be in our country that we have to worry about.

  • @5tevef The UN is prepared to invade the US? What planet are you on?

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123 I didn't say that but you go on about your business and keep those signs held high so Wall Street can see them.

  • The ad shows border patrol and coast guard when talking about securing borders and shows military planes and aircraft carriers when talking about our defenses. It doesn't say troops will be policing borders, more likely to be national guard who are in the middle east and who knows where. Bring our troops home!

  • Wow. I'm speechless. You're so ideological that you've lost all common sense. Less government dude, not no government. The troops would do a great job on the border. I served 3 tours in Iraq; the Abu Ghraib incident does NOT represent all (or even most) troops, and it's a logical fallacy to represent them all as such. I still can't believe this video. This is why the libertarian movement is looked at as ridiculous by so many; it is always taken to absurd extremes by so many of it's followers.

  • Spain's population was heavily armed. What happened to those who were individually armed in 1939?

There's no doubt that war desensitizes man. But keeping troops on the border is not war. Are troops raping Germans and Koreans? There will be an incident or two, but no more than the general non-military population.

Ridley - you're way off base with this one. Sorry.

  • I agree that the Federal Government should be forbidden from using the military against US citizens, but not non-citizens. What's the point of having a military if it can't protect its own borders? That doesn't make sense. A government is not an evil in itself, it depends on who's running it. Yes, a government can become tyrannical, but that's why the people must be armed. If the American people had not been divided and feminized by the Jewish racist media, we would have had a revolution already

  • Ridley? I think you got it wrong. Ron Paul is for smaller government, less federal laws...etc. Having a state run government lessens abuses, keeps people in power.

Ridley needs to read the message.

  • So dave good vids normally but I gotta disagree with you on this one.

  • You would be better off chartering some fucking yacht from a sailor in socal and taking a trip down to baja if you don't want to be in the u.s. lmao

  • But it should be done as peacefully and as humanitarian as possible. However the states would save billions if they did this as the cost alone in California is around 20 billion a year anually.

So yes to recap, u.s. soldiers MONITORING + defending our borders with night vision scopes + shooting back if there is any gunfire shot towards them. That's what the fuck our soldiers should be for in the first place. We do it in Iraq, we should do it here. BTW who the fuck needs to flee to mexico??

  • I see nothing wrong with them monitoring the borders since the states are lacking at doing it + the Constitution allows for the fed govt to deal with immigration issues so I see nothing wrong with this at all, especially in a Ron Paul presidency.

Open borders/non sovereign contries is a globalist/nwo doctrine so I don't see why anyone would side with them on this. It is bankrupting our country + YES 20 million illegal aliens in california alone IS a problem.

    We should deport them all......

  • Ya done fucked up dave! Ron Paul is the champion of the constitution. The constitution gives the Feds the authority to control the borders (Like it or not). If you have such a big problem with that why don't we focus on amending that power to the states on the borders?? Seriously, I don't know what you're going for here.....

  • ridley, they were taken to iraq to be able to do all those disgusting things!

  • @MrWakethesheeple Are you kidding? If anything, RP is the one who looks like a neocon for beefing up militarism.

  • Idiot. Who is this moron?

  • Ridley is an idiot

  • Wake up America your under siege lets set it right RON PAUL 2012

  • Respond to this video... you stupid dumbass

  • I do not want any US soldiers anywhere around me. American soldiers will do anything they are ordered to do including a variety of sick psychopathic/anti-human actions. I do not at all feel safe around a US soldier.

  • More anarchist loons. Great

  • @NickF1227 Well, anarchists ALWAYS oppose borders, so yeah.

  • President Break His name Oh Bomb Ya

  • Neo cons hate liberty and love locking minorities in federal prisons for liberating their own bodies in their own way. DEA thugs pick up many political prisoners with many more in the military. Many in the military support Ron Paul OccupyGOP

  • How many mpg does a drone get when it kills an American citizen and destroys the local environment with several other people and no trial? Why does the EPA and Congress bail out polluters under BushObama worm with same DEA thug? Worst since JohnsonNixon ate the spice and wormed in power

  • Bring the troops home, free political prison at home without drones. Rosa Parks and MLK were libertarian passive resisters and heroes of Dr. Paul. Check the voting record. Transparency=Congress has a moral duty to earmark every item so the king cannot spend it on wars or pet projects. No more lies read their records

  • Ridley is the King of Corn(ie)!

  • I agree with you on a lot of the domestic issues, and I respect the values you hold, but you are wrong on this point.

Securing our border and providing for the general defense of the people from outside threats is one of the few required functions of a government. I do agree with your bazooka freedom, but as a means to ensure that should the military get out of hand, we have a recourse. It is not a valid means of maintaining our finite borders, however.

  • Look at the shit feedback on this video.

    What say you Ridley?...

  • Between this vid and the kittens vid, i'd say ridley needs a straight jacket...

  • Ima give you a like for this...

  • Dave, I don't think your concerns are unmerited. What scares me most is the percentage of our military population that buys in 100% to the company line (terrrists, etc). What else will they buy into? How many of them will refuse to follow an order when it's unconstitutional?

As for Ron Paul though, one of his only legitimate duties as president is to defend the borders, and I think that's all the ad is saying. It'll appeal to the warhawk vote as well.

    You still rock Dave!

  • naw dude. Your stretching that alot

  • Dude your an idiot, there are already national guard deployed at the border, Ron was just saying in this ad he will do more to protect our borders than the borders of say Afghanistan. All you are is a propagandist trying to twist things around to your own perspective just like the "main stream media".

  • Bazooka freedom. I am now a huge fan of this phrase.

  • I also wonder where all the gold comes from, if and when we got back to a gold standard.

  • What a bunch of Paul-tards.

  • I don't agree with all of Ron Paul's positions, but I still support him. And when the GOP fails to give him the nomination, I'll just vote for the Libertarian Party nominee.

  • I love Ron Paul but I agree with you Ridley. I think he's saying this simply because he wants the troops home. I highly doubt he would actually deploy at our border but I would definitely be against it. Its funny how one critical statement against Ron gets so many angry, chill out guys, damn. Libertarian thinking was around before Ron, I guess some don't know that.

  • Remember, everyone thought Rand Paul was a neocon before he became elected because he didn't sound like a non-interventionist, but the day after he became elected, he talked about reducing the military budget and only going to war with a declaration of war. He also came out against Libya and said he wanted troops home from Afghanistan. Look at Ron Paul's voting record, I'm sure we have nothing to worry about.

  • Dave, did you deduce all this from the 35 second "A plan to keep America secure" ad? Is there more data to back your claims here? Did Ron Paul actually say he was planning to deploy troops in America even though it violates the Posse Comitatus Act? If this is in fact true, then I also have concerns.

  • Come on Ridley, he is trying to placate the conservative Republicans who believe in fences across the border. By saying he wants to bring the troops home, I doubt he will post military on the border. HOWEVER, the states will have their national guard again, and CAN use them if necessary. He isn't an authoritarian.

  • ur dumb...so who are you voting for? goodbye rid

  • ugh, gibberish video

  • Ron Paul's trying to get elected. End of story. I don't think he plans to employ Marshall law... but yeah, I kind of agree... I don't think Ron Paul would authorize or allow, being that he is in charge of the troops movement, Marshall law.

  • RP/US government knows most useful idiots do not understand the monetary system in this country...so, he runs off at the mouth about the FED.

However, he says nothing about the US government murdering 3,000 people...murder is something we all understand, even useful idiots!

    RP is controlled opposition!

    watch?v=v60TWZNVgtk

  • Ridley, I think you have a point that's well worth discussing, but Ron Paul's ad didn't really say much about the details of such a transition... So I think you're jumping to conclusions here.

This is the first vid of yours that I have to give the thumbs down to

  • Wow Ridley, you are out to lunch!

Over the past two decades, our country has been invaded by another nation - and not a shot was fired. Stop the invasion now! I support the Paul Plan.

  • Ron Paul runs his mouth about the FED, yet he will not say anything against the establishment in regards to 911...he helps the cover-up!

He says that it's "EXTREME" to make a "BIG DEAL" of 911...

He says that the US government had "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH 911"...

And don't give me this line of shit either...

"RP can't say anything about 911 or he would be "killed" or "unelectable" or "he will do something about 911 as soon as he is elected"...

    BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...

    watch?v=v60TWZNVgtk

  • I think if he "had" to send them to the south border at first, he would be forced to cut spending on the when he ends the drug war.

  • Here's a good question.

Why is the National Guard serving tours in Iraq instead of doing what they are supposed to do, namely guard the nation?

Isn't that actually what their job is?

  • I'm amazed by the comments this video has been receiving. Shows you the divide between Ron Paul-worshippers and those who truly have principles.

  • I agree with you. I do not agree with ron paul's position on the border as far as using american troops. I do think something has to be done to secure the borders. Ron Paul recently hired Bruce Fein (a washington beltway slimeball) as his chief legal aid/expert. Sibel Edmonds has written about this, do a google search. Dave could have made a video about that which even fewer would have liked, but it's something that has to be debated and talked about. I support Ron Paul, but not with blinders.

  • Ron Paul for authoritarianism is like Mitt Romney or Barack Obama for the Constitution. Does not exist.

  • Come'on Ridley, it sounds like you're pushing it. Ron Paul's commitment to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights will override any of your home based military brutality concerns.

  • man i like you, but this time i have to say, you drop the boll.

  • I was a fan of Ridley, but after watching this I am not anymore ! BYE BYE Ridley !

  • What politician hasn't said one thing and done the opposite? All the things in the ad I believe Ron Paul would scale down in an attempt to eliminate them. My guess is this is his PR team telling him to say what the people are used to hearing, as is the case that has worked forever, then when you get in office do what is right.

  • i dont think u understand what ron paul wants to do and how u can compare the us military to PB is just wrong

  • I don't know why people are getting so worked up over this. Ridley has a perfectally valid point; it's not like he's telling you vote for Rick Perry or something. Ron Paul is a great man and his border views aren't bad; they aren't good but they aren't bad; this commercial makes them look bad. Though if the campaign is just trying to get him votes ok whatever it will probably backfire.

  • Ridley, love u bro, but think u're reaching.

There's NO AUTHORITY for RP to deploy NORTHCOM AGAINST Am.Citizens: violation of PosseCommitatus. NOR will he DARE violate Constitution to do so. But, since he NEVER has for ALL of his 23.5yrs in Congress, where the hell is this coming from?

RP's always stated that he has a reduction plan for returning troops. SOME bases WILL have to be phased out over time. BUT NO US MILITARY will patrol WITHIN borders. So u voting oBUSHma? NO. So where's the whup?

  • Dave, the fascist ideology is the flavor of the month right now - and the usual suspects are preparing to combat freedom, but it is a stretch to think that Dr. Paul's motive for bringing the troops home would be a military coup.

It is certainly worth the discussion, but don't go full Larouche on us.

Still a big fan - your point is worth elaboration.

  • This, while sort of repugnant, has been illuminating. It shows how little the american people know us at this point. You guys can unsub if you want, but I'm not going to unsub just because someone's been swayed by the constant replay of a handful, if that, of incidents within the military that have happened over the course of that all too long and expensive misadventure overseas.

  • Ending the drug war would be the greatest way to secure the border. That's what I take it to mean.

  • Aww man Ridley, you really messed up on this one.

  • Ridley, you were much better making those silly faces we all liked to watch. Please do not retrogress into an anarchist or pacifist-marshmallow.

  • and now all sudden here comes the trolls...some dude comes up with some crazy theory and now the sheeple gonna come baaaaahing...ridley..if you are gonna post something..post something realistic...this is pre-determined garbage military is to protect our borders ...and beleive me when this shit comes down and enemies cross over from mexico you will be saying omg RP was right...sad how you twisted how is trying to help us into military turning on us.

  • lol wow you dont get it dude...most of those soldiers hate it there and are sick of what they are made to do...also in iraq they are brainwashed that everyone of those people are evil...its different when on own soil...and rp is saying it to control the chaos on border and regain its security....now this dude is reading into shit thats not there...also ron paul said that he didnt want border to be fully fenced cause it could be to keep US in...but it needs to be cleaned up

  • @6mechanix6 Police here are trained at the academy to view all citizens as threats and the enemy. And we see videos everyday of them abusing us and their authority? How would the troops behave any different? How would you feel if you were driving down the highway in Arizona or California and came across a military checkpoint? How is that not reminiscent of Nazi Germany?

  • Ron Paul 2012!!

  • I find this to be very insightful and I too worry about this. Hard to misinterpret this ad, it literally says 'rebuilding America's defenses'. A poor way to garner support if that is all that was intended. I think this is a great vid, question anything and everything, especially when many have blind faith. I believe Paul is sincere in his strict dedication to the Constitution... but this ad of his is straight Bullshit.

  • So is a HUMAN A HUMAN? Are we all now one single collective of people all guilty of the same sins. Not one better or worse than the rest? That's dumb. A politician is not necessarily a politician. Politicians are individuals just like lawyers, CEOs, doctors, taxi cab drivers, bartenders and professors. Some are better. Some are worse. Most are far worse than Ron Paul. I think SOME people simply won't be happy until there is straight up anarchy.

  • unsubbed.

  • I wasn't a fan of that commercial either.. but you've got it way wrong. The logical extension of your philosophy is that we should be involved in perpetual wars on foreign soils in order to keep the US population safe from the American military. That's absurd.

  • Is the Ron Paul cult of personality so obtuse that people can't handle some constructive criticism and potential debate? I guess that's the same with any group, but unsubscribing because you disagree with one particular video is ridiculous.

I think RP's ad is intended to appeal to a wider base that normally views him as being weak on defense. If he is going to win, he's going to have to do so, as long as he doesn't betray his principles and promises.

  • National Guard troops should be deployed on the border. A state like Arizona can exercise its right to do it, but not when their guard is stationed overseas. We don t need the US military to do it.

  • Ridley, you're way off base! RP is making a statement that the US government should focus on its constitutional role, defense, not foreign adventures. He was not arguing that the military be used domestically. He advocates ending foreign and drug wars which grossly reduces the need for the military, law enforcement, the judiciary, and prisons. This is obvious to those who read current events.

Focus on your local issues ...and invest in a voice coach to help your singing.

  • Ridley, most troops don't want to kill you. They should be on the border protecting us from foreign invaders.

  • Imagine me speechless, what an impact on many different levels, lol hard at work ic. keep up the videos !

  • This is silly, lets get back to real issues

  • RON PAUL IS A LIFETIME POLITICIAN. THE GOVERNMENT IS THE GOVERNMENT. THE MILITARY IS THE MILITARY. THE POLICE FORCE IS THE POLICE. A SNAPPING TURTLE IS A SNAPPING TURTLE. A PIG IS A PIG. A TORNADO IS A TORNADO, ETC.. ETC... A GUY SPEAKS THE TRUTH AND YOUR EMOTIONS CREEP OVER YOUR BRAINS LIKE AN OCTOPUS AND WONT LET IT IN, JUST AS YOU WERE TRAINED(negative commenters, unsubbers). THE GOVERNMENT NEVER WILL BE A SOLUTION - GROW UP AND STAND UP.

  • dont drink the ronpaul koolaid!!

  • @MrMinutemen thanks, a politician is a politician.

  • @walkertonkidd feel free to check out my "loop noir etov" upload.. gnostic blessings!

  • Also, in the Ron Paul ad he never said he wants to militarize the border, only secure it. Sure, he had pictures of military equipment during that speech, but that is probably because aircraft carriers are always badass.

  • Ridley I think you have the wrong idea about this. Ron Paul is obviously trying to counter the notion that many republicans have, that Ron Paul is soft on defense. Just because he wants to end the World Police mentality that the military has with bases around the world (in countries like Germany and Japan) repubs tend to think that that will effect American defense.

He has a real shot at candidacy this time, and he has to rebut serious concerns that people have.

  • dishonest schmuck - unsubbed

  • Those were two separate points. 1) Securing our borders [video of coast guard and border patrol]. 2) Rebuilding our defences [video of navy etc].

  • Ron Paul said in one of the debates that you have to be careful when talking about fencing off the borders. He said that while border fences can be used to keep illegal immigrants out they could also be used to keep Americans in. His stance has always been to cut entitlement programs thereby stripping the incentives to come here illegally. So I really think you're misreading this ad if you think he's going to militarize the border.

  • secede

  • Having them home isnt the same as being deployed it would be the same as the national guard. What would happen is a few misbehaviors that dont result in deaths like they do out of the country and would get our money in our economy and even without all of them here troops are still out and about flying around and I see armored humvees all the time. How about stop occupying a large amount of countries and stop with the corruption? Guess that part of the message didnt click.

  • very good point Ridley. Even if some of you "think" he is misinterpreting the ad that doesn't mean he is wrong. You really think the troops are not going to abuse if they are stationed on the US border? You abuse in one place, you will abuse in another place. That is plain common sense.

  • Ridley,

Ron Paul simply doesn't want the right base to be terrified about the incorrect notion that he will dismantle all the forces and leave the U.S. opened to an attack, which would never happen anyway. It's just politics, don't worry. Ron Paul is about an environment in which the majority of the world's countries would gradually reduce the size of their military

  • Free State Up Date: A New Hampshire liberty activist reports that Manchester police are doing something interesting on October 9. They're allowing people to plaster the copshop's exterior with posters. This after arresting liberty activists for doing something very similar in the same spot. • Yes, Ridley. We DO want the American governemnt / military / and/or police stationed on the Mexican border to STOP THE INVASION.

The abusive cops and soldiers are scum who need to be permanently institutionalized. You however, have porridge for brains, and are setting up a false dichotomy between open borders on the one hand, and insane imperial thugs brutalizing Americans on the other hand.

Seriously Ridley, good luck with your new Republic of Ganja up there in NH. No longer interested.

  • The southern states have a National Guard.....those troops should be put on the border BUT.....it is the responsibility of the federal government to defenc against invasion Guarding the border from invasion is NOT "busy work" as you say. Illegal aliens should be stopped at the border and turned back. Those who want to shoot at our troops must be dealt with accordingly as invaders. PUT TROOPS ON THR BORDER not 100 miles inland at unconstitutional check points.

  • Dr. Paul doesn't wish to put US soldiers on the borders.

  • We have to kill all the foreigners to save them.

  • you just failed ridley........

  • •••--•••

    Dave,

Ron Paul never said put uniformed military on the boarders. I think you are reading into his commercial something that is not there.

I've always heard Ron Paul talking about reducing military all together

    •••--•••.

  • Unfortunately, the president is only one person. He'll have a staff.

While RP's statements, writings and discussions have been quite consistent over his entire political career (not like he has been quiet the whole time), this deserves consideration.

This ad is what RP's -staff- believes will gain votes.

Just pulling the military out of other countries would cost a fraction, and require a fraction of the soldiers, as now. I consider that a good first step.

  • I'm pretty sure at sometime Dr. Paul has come out and criticized a plan to mobilize troops on the border. I myself am all for it but understand the apprehension.

I don't think you've actually researched this enough. Back to the drawing board dave.

  • you are totally misinterpreting the ad. the last thing ron paul would want is a violation of posse comitatus. u take a few examples of some bad apples, and say the military as a whole is fkin corrupt and an evil force. un'subd

  • @KlingonSpider Let's hope so - otherwise there is reason for concern. When you give people weapons and unlimited authority, they will abuse it. Regardless whether they are military or police. We see it every single day. We see it more here by the police, because people record it and put it on youtube, but most people have no idea the abuse and human rights violations that go on overseas. You would throw up and not be able to sleep for weeks.

  • you probably haven't been listening to Ron Paul or have totally misunderstood his philosophy.

  • The way I see it you shouldn't be blind to pitfalls RP may have. But I do believe that this is an overreaction to this ad. I'm sure you know that he gets the "weak on foreign defense" wrap because of his FP. I'm also sure you know there are lots of people who want more secure borders. He is playing making both plays in this ad and I honestly think it is more just rhetoric to fight the labels he gets and to get more ardent supporters that push for stronger borders into his FP camp.

  • Cmon Ridley. You know what Ron Paul actually believes. HE doesn't like a super militarized border because of East/West Germany type concerns. It's just his campaign staff that thinks this type of message will attract voters. I thought you were smarter than that. Rand Paul did the same thing but he's doing very well in office right now.

  • After we de-mind control our military-We should become like the Swiss

    Good Video

  • Ridley just lost a fan
