i want to design a cnc machine, i got inventor student edition, what is better fusion or main program, as my main program is not working, can i use fusion. are there any tutorials or pre made parts like rods and nuts
I found a site that looks like it could be a good resource potentially for 3D Inventor Content, hopefully more stuff starts showing up. theSimpleConcept.ca
Dr. T. R. Kannan of Geometric further went to to state: "I have checked the feature recognition capabilities of few direct modelers. Most of them are interactive i.e. user has to click on a face, then right click or click on an icon and identify feature. Again they have multiple options and the behavior of these options differ. End users prefer to have less number of clicks and prefer as much automation as possible."
"Rather than having to click multiple times, if the modeler automatically highlights a feature when I move the cursor near a feature, say a filleted blind pocket, I can easily drag them and reposition. Because If a user has to reposition a pocket feature which contains lot of faces, he has to select the set of faces first.
Dr. T.R. Kannan of Geometric concluded with: Current modelers provide few options for selection such as interactive feature recognition or window selection. Even for window selection, the model has to be repositioned properly and often multiple times in complex cases to avoid selection of unwanted faces or features that lie behind the feature in concern.
What tool is provided to the Inventor user when they have a dumb solid and need to do something like quickly and easily change 50 countersunk holes to 50 counterbored holes?
@JonBanquer I'd use fusion for something like that. Problem is, a dumb solid is called a dumb solid for a reason. It would probably be faster if you deleted those holes in Fusion and remodeled them using the Fusion or Inventor hole command.
What I'd like to see happen to handle this common situation for me has been suggested by Dr. T. R. Kannan of Geometric who suggested the following: "If I move the cursor near a countersunk, the modeler should automatically highlight the countersunk and it should provide options in the UI to convert this into other hole types. Same case with patterns on imported models, sheet metal stamped features, etc."
Great showcase of Fusion Rob. Many great improvements to both Inventor and Fusion in this release. Can't wait to see more of the Fusion UI workflows inside Inventor. Love that transparant model browser tree. -B.Hall-
Solid Edge did those things about 3 - 4 years ago, What is new here?
