The Australian version of this, which is legal, involves triple axle traliers, sometimes triple dollies, and all fully loaded. It's legal to pull two fully loaded 40 footers on the main transport routes. In some of the more remote areas, you're allowed three trailers, and sometimes more in the really remote areas to the north
I know Europe doesn't care, but I thought this was illegal in the U.S... "They won't let our drivers pull triples out here in CA" -maybe just the midwest plains because no human lives there?
It's just swaying a little, its called the crack the whip effect, you barely have to move the steering wheel to make it act as a whip and sling it around, these doubles and triples are loaded with the heavy trailers up front and lighter ones in the back thats why the rear ones move alot more, Thats the first time I'v ever even seen a triple whip.
Feeder drivers make me hot and bothered! They won't let our drivers pull triples out here in CA, only doubles. My Reno drivers have told me some interesting stories about their adventures with triples, hehe.
i was on a trip to colorado a few years ago, we were stopped at a gas station at like 10pm and a caravan of 3 of theses came rolling in; 3 trucks with 3 trailers each. im from north carolina, & we dont get anything like this at home , so to us it was like dang
nice song on the radio, would have been better if you were playing "18-wheeler" by Alabama instead haha
That's a good haulin set. I drive triples for Old Dominion in Utah. once in a while you get a set 10 times worse than that. It's great though. I never want to go back to single trailers. I might fall asleep. Ha ha ha
When the rear box is empty this will happen. Sometimes just a bit more grease on the 5th wheel will fix it. Best way to fix it though...don't look in the mirror!!
yeah i never seen triples at the ups hub i work at in the northeast ive only seen them pull doubles and some double dropframe trailers i love ups lol .nice video.
Down in FL you cant run trips, but up on the NY throughway, visiting my mom, I saw trip's and the 45ft doubles! lol but only on that interstate is is allowed, they drop them at the end.
Triples make the average feeder run a challenge. They wiggle all over the road, and in a good crosswind, your last trailer can be in the next lane. Then, throw Canadian winter driving into the mix... :)~
COULD YA IMAGINE 40+ WIND GUSTS!???
UNFIXIBLE 1 year ago
Only certain parts of the country can triple trailer setups can be done. Mostly flat straight aways of freeway between hubs.
