I have a t5 s60 volvo , and i have to admit it gives problema but the car is verter than an avergae toyota or a Honda and all the generic car, the volvo is not meant for great looks even though it has its own appealing Style , so dont compare a volvo to a BMW , the BMW is over all a better car , but the volvo is up there:)
And i rip my bmw every damn day. Just hit 190km and it still goes strong. No oil burn, no wierd noises, no cel. Just instant throttle response that no turbo engine could ever have. And dont tell me that volvos are more reliable than bmws LOL! i had a 2000 s80 and it was the most problematic car i had ever seen. Spent thousands on modules and computer crap on an ugly slow ass volvo. Brake booster failure, transmission kicking, engine would tick so loud, burned shit loads of oil, every fucking li
Clearly a lie. Either way diesel cars are for torque but are not over all as fast. My 330ci would definitely smoke your shitty 98 volvo grandpa mobile. Plus its wayyyyyy nicer to look at.
lol i switched to volvo s60 2.4t from e46 323i, guess what? bmw could have 320hp with $5000 supercharger upgrade WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING TO THE ENGINE, with volvo such upgrade doesnt exist, plus volvo is front wheel drive which is really gay. the turning radius also sucks really bad!!
yeah, to be honest, the only new volvo I like is the C30. I can just imagine putting 2 Nos bottles on each side of the big window in the back. I just love the look of that car. The only bad thing is that Volvo is owned by Ford, so the quality of the car is down quite a bit. When Ford took over in 2004, Volvos started having some serious problems. Thats why Im glad mine is a 2001. I have over 190,000 miles on it, and the 0-60 time is better than the factory time : P I just adore my car.
I have not driven a 2.5, but from all the reviews I have read, I guess the only time you notice the power difference is when accelerating hard. The T5 has a higher pressure turbo.
Once you turn off the STC(Stability and Traction Control), it becomes extremely fast. The turbo really gets going after 3000 RPM. Youll have some serious grip problems in 1st and 2nd gear when you floor it. Yet, if you shift gears before 3000 rpm, it is a gas efficient family sedan. Its one of the cars that you drive down to the track comfortably, unleash the monster on track, and drive home. Its really a great car.
@shahbaz99 I doubt that. 330's are extremely over-rated. That rental s60 that gets beat on everyday by people like you probably has been in the shop for 80% less time than your POS bmw has. bmw owners just think they have race cars b/c thats what they are told but they never find out what it can really do b/c they are scared to break something and then be right back in the shop.
nope, unless you do what I did to my T5. You remove the air box, and attach a cone filter. Now then you get an amazing turbo sound and the CBV (compression bypass valve) as well.
Nope, You need the "impossible to find" Cold/Ram Air Intake. I have the same car, this is the most comfterable car i have been in so far and it has balls for a 2.5T, Trust me.
No, automatic rental car.

nope. I have never driven any other volvo other than a S60. I heard they are nice and fast. Look at some youtube vids. Nice acceleration.

That's just the noise of the recirc. valve, my old '96 850 T5/Turbo did the same with the airbox open.
