The biggest problem is with so-called "anchor babies". The 14th Amendement specifically disallows the children of non-citizens from becoming automatic citizens. Make that the law, as the Founders intended, and also cut off social services to illegals--and you wont have to deport anyone. They will deport themselves when the gravy train stops.

They're just emerging from a ten-year depression; and in the last two decades the Japanese government has had to intervene to make it illegal to sell stocks on three separate occasions, because their country was on the brink of bankruptcy.

Rather than do it right away, I'm saying "don't let them jump the queue". Instead, grant them a residency status (NOT citizenship) as a sort of probation. If they commit any crimes during that period, deport them. If they keep their noses clean and act like good citizens, make them 'elligible' to apply for citizenship. The biggest problem is with so-called "anchor babies". The 14th Amendement specifically disallows the children of non-citizens from becoming automatic citizens. Yet courts have repeatedy ruled otherwise. The most critical step is ether legislative or constitutional action to bar anchor babies immediately. Make that the law, as the Founders intended, and also cut off social services to illegals--and you wont have to deport anyone. They will deport themselves when the gravy train stops.

genpershing, oh well. There is one way to prove it; and it would begin to satisfy part of your desires.
Start by locking up every single violent criminal; and if they're illegal immigrants without papers, deport them as soon as their sentence is up. No chance of re-entry. Tag 'em with an electronic tracking chip, if necessary.
Eventually, you'll get rid of all the bad eggs; and will see that the majority of them were exactly as I said.

genpershing, just try to remember who the friends of America are.
By all means, strengthen the laws so that people can't abuse them. Do what you must to eliminate the real threats to patriotic Americans. We can't solve all the problems here on YouTube, but I firmly believe that most of the current "illegal immigrants" are genuinely good, hard working people, who just want to co-exist in peace.

They're just emerging from a ten-year depression; and in the last two decades the Japanese government has had to intervene to make it illegal to sell stocks on three separate occasions, because their country was on the brink of bankruptcy.

genpershing, I heard about that too. Again, that sounds like a problem with the courts. Someone needs to make the judge accountable... nobody else. Else amend the laws to allow decisions to be reversed in cases where clear abuse hase been uncovered.
Deal with the violent criminals as harshly as you like. Capital punishment, for all I care. Just keep in mind that the vast majority of illegal immigrants are hard working people, who WANT to contribute positively to society.

genpershing, I don't believe you have any idea of what most of those people are running from.
I had a friend in Chiapas. His family applied for entry to the USA to become citizens. He told me of how the local police and all levels of government treated the people like dirt; and treated the local Natives worse than animals!
A couple of months before they were supposed to visit the US embassy, I lost complete contact with him and his cousin.
I firmly believe he and his family are dead!

The various levels of US government CREATED the problem... THEY are to blame... not the people they effectively ALLOWED into the country. Suddenly treating them ALL as criminals is the height of hypocrisy.
For your own sake/benefit, keep those who aren't committing violent crimes (that's most of them); and deal with the rest as harshly as possible. Make an example of the bad eggs!

Botton line: CUT benefits!!!! Period, across the board, CUT benefits. Those who come to work will of necessity be paid more when EVEN they can no longer afford to work without the supplement of social services. They couldn't afford to send money home, so would be forced to contribute to America rather than their homelands. Let's try thios for say, five years, and see where we are then.

3Haydens, I'm not suggesting that it's too late to solve this problem. I'm merely stating that if you deport them ALL, you'll suffer the financial repercusions of it immediately after. Like the old expression: cutting off the nose to spite the face.
Inflation could get out of control.
Start with the violent criminals first. Otherwise, this will get big... FAST.

Mick, I agree that the violent criminals MUST be removed immediately. They are currently 25% of the US prison pop. However, they just come back if you deport them. We currently have no less than NINE migrant worker laws to protect them and let them come and "do the jobs no American will." And let them go home after the season.

HOWEVER we also have an estimated 14 million Mexicans in this country illegally, roughly 25-33% of the total pop of Mexico. Estimates say only 2-5% of these people work in agri business. ALL others need to be deported, immediately, and a felony on their record IF they return illegally.

The problem is worse in Canada than in the USA. We have people from all over the world landing in Canada and claiming "refugee status"; and many of them go missing before their hearing comes up. They claim social assistance from the moment they say the word "refugee".

You think demanding to speak Spanish in your country is a problem? Try having 100's of different languages! Our governments waste so much money on making multi-lingual services available, it's insane. I speak both official languages (English/French) of Canada; and my first language was German.

Immigration laws require that you learn English to facilitate your assimilation into American citizenship. Looney Libs feel that that is NOT PC. I was a teacher for five years, substitute only, as I was too conservative. Took 12 classes for my credential and not ONE was regarding how to teach asnd English speaking, American child. Libs have destroyed the once greatest in the world, public educational system.

3Haydens, I still say that most immigrants are good people. My parents came here from Germany; and they didn't get any social assistance. They were told that if they couldn't make it on their own, they should go back to Germany. They learned English on their own... worked hard... raised a family... and worked until well into their retirement years.

Rather than do it right away, I'm saying "don't let them jump the queue". Instead, grant them a residency status (NOT citizenship) as a sort of probation. If they commit any crimes during that period, deport them. If they keep their noses clean and act like good citizens, make them 'elligible' to apply for citizenship. Don't grant it to them automatically.

Those ARE American immigration laws, Mick. They have chosen to break them, feel they are entitled to the rights of the legal citizen and in fact, demand them. They don't want citizenship, just the RIGHT to be here and suck off American social services without fear of being deported, until they have enough money to go back to Mexico and retire.

3Haydens, arrest those who are violent; then deport them when their sentence is complete. As for those who aren't violent, if you grant them residency status you can collect taxes from them. If they refuse to speak English, then kick them out if you must.
I still say that you'll find most of them will learn English, work hard and contribute to society if you give them the chance.

genpershing, a huge percentage of people who immigrate to Canada play the REFUGEE card, because it grants them automatic medical/dental benefits and living expenses until their case is heard and decided upon months/yrs later. THIS, I have a problem with.
If all they did was jump the queue to get their foot in the door, so that they could get a real job, pay taxes and raise a family as Canadians, I'd have no problem with it at all.

Illegal guns and drugs are an entirely separate problem.

Simple, redirg. To start:
1. Incarcerate and/or deport any illegal immigrant who commit violent crimes. (ie: rape; murder; robbery; etc...)
2. Offer a legal Residency status (Not Citizenship) to illegal immigrants, which allow them to legally work/live in the USA. After completing a probationary period (10 yrs?) without serious offences, they can become 'eligible' to apply for citizenship.
I don't believe I've heard of illegal immigrant College Professors.
