  • It's weird for when school started my eating went way of for 4 months I only ate one meal a day at normal weight then family issues occured and I had to start forcing myself to two meals a day, yet nothin really changed to me except a minor health problem that went away when I started to at least eat reguraly

  • Quick couple of comments: At 13 I had this, and one of the main things that hits me, is that these are truly " boys'; I had thought, at that age, I was essentially a grown young man. Another teen boy I've known, suffered a heart attack, and nearly died. And as well, I haven't completely gotten well after even more than two decades, and if i can tell you anythig, is that this is a real mental illness, not a common, casual dieting method, and it really harms, limits and even destroys lives.

  • Anyone else think that having the job of weighing all the kids in the weight room would be a pedo's dream? :/

  • Bright Eyes? FUCK YES.

  • 1:26 terrible, My God! poor boy! :( this is sad sad sad

  • If decland gained a little bit more, he could be rly hot lol

  • im 15 and a half years old, i weigh 6.5 stone and i am 5 foot 7, i no im under weight but i cant gain weight, i dont think i have a eating disorder coz i been to the docs and they said i had no type of disorder or problem with my body, but ive even tried using weight gain and weightlifting but i cant put it on. everyday im at school i get picked on for my apperence mainly coz my face is thin and makes my featurers look bog, if anyone can help plz do:)

  • @BrazilsRonaldoFan Eat more, move less

  • @Carrotqween i do, all i ever do is sit around on my computer eating junk foods and i still never seem to gain weight, i guess ill just have to hope i change ass i get older

  • @BrazilsRonaldoFan Eating junk food probably isn't your best bet. From the sound of it, it's a body type issue - if you have a speedy metabolism and are a certain shape, it is really hard to gain weight. Best thing you could do is keep a food diary for a week or so, then try to cut out 'bad' fats (they'll make you lethargic and unhealthy) and start eating foods like nuts (good fats ftw!), bananas, lots of lean protein (e.g. turkey & fish).

  • @xyz702 Weightlifting doesn't work unless you're taking in enough protein, especially in the 20 minute window after exercise. Believe it or not, some people reccommend chocolate milk as the calcium is good if you've done anything high impact and it's convenient. You can get away with high portion sizes so enjoy it! Things like peanut butter and spag bol (as long as you don't have red meat much more than 2 times a week) are actively RECOMMENDED to people with your body type. Woop!

  • @xyz702 Fer reals though, I have a friend who has the same issue as you - it sucks and I hope the guys picking on you lay off. None of this is meant to be preachy (although re-reading it, it does sound it - sorry!). I believe that feeling bad about food, whilst common, is a massive and unfair drain on people. We get told it's insanely important, told a bunch of rubbish info about food and then left to stress about not being perfect. As if perfect even exists... Hope you're doing OK.

  • i just wana give every one of these kids a big hug

  • Declan's parents are so sweet.

  • i weight 35 kilos and i am not anorexic, there are kids that weight 48 and they say they`re anorexic... anorexia has nothing to do with weight, its about how you eat, i eat alot, for exemple, but these kids dont eat at all.... thats scary

  • 4:50 it's GOKU!!!!

I must say this is the only video I've come across that is about boys with eating disorders

  • how many lbs is one kilo?

  • @Pengo898 about 2.2lbs :)

  • @Pengo898 2.2 lbs is 1 kilo

  • whats the name of the second song in this?

  • I wish these boys were my sons. I would help them recover and love them.

  • Nice music...

  • The figures indicate that Dr Dee was pulling in over £2.5m a year. I don't understand how each patient could cost 345 a day? Even food+accommodation+counselling+insurance+medical+school couldn't add up to that surely?

  • @mrsrobinsoncat it now cost £500+ per day

  • @smetin92 Is that since Dee sold it? It is just so sad. If it were cheaper more kids could be helped and they wouldn't take their EDs into adulthood.

  • Anyone notice that the declan boy had a red bracelet on? or maybe its just a coincidence?

  • Death Cab made it so much better

  • :( anorexic ana is so controlling.

  • @ReachForTheStars90 youre so oblivious..

  • Yoh every anobmovie I watch is at Rhodes farm

  • Boy Ana is so confusing like I understand girls......... But don't boys wanna be strong not skinny and weak

  • i saw this on bbc america but what does this prewatershed version mean? is it different then the version from tv?

  • @girliboi Watershed is on english tv untill 9pm. it keeps bad language and explicit stuff out because of children.

  • The pressures of society.... Don't let bad jugments from peers kill you. Don't let vanity dictate your body image.

  • well that has put me off my dinner

  • Aww they're all so sweet and cute, I want to give them a big hug so badly..

  • lol I really thought those fatties would eat the plate after they finished the food.

  • @papertreegun : who cares if theyre gay or not? Eating disorders affect peole of all genders, races and ages. God, youre ignorant and you need to shut the hell up.

  • hi everyone, this is simon metin from the documentary. im 19 now :) if you want to talk about anything from this documentary just message me on facebook, i am the one from cambridge, cambridgeshire :) just as a follow up....everything is COOL, i think everything has turned out fine and Rhodes Farm really does help!

  • @smetin92 Glad you turned out okay! I think I was most worried about you when watching this documentary haha =) Do you still talk to Declan and Warren, are they doing okay?

  • @smetin92 didnt you play the brother in skins? :D

  • This is simon metin from the documentary. i thought, seeing as it has been a while i shoudl just say that you can add my on facebook if you need any help or support. i am the one on facebook where it says Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

  • i wonder why these documentaries are always from the UK...

  • @iheartwintergirls thats where the clinic is lol

  • @iheartwintergirls because we are one of the leading examples of a country in the world. Being governed by secular reasoning centuries early than most other countries has given rise to a nation that cares about science. This sort of thing no doubt goes on all over the world. Its just we address it.

  • @iheartwintergirls cuz the uk government drives ppl nuts about healthy eating. more so than NA. So in turn children start bad eating habits. That's my takeon it.

  • @iheartwintergirls Copyrights are not very strict in the UK.

  • I am not trying to be mean or anything but um,If i was a boy i would be trying to gain muscle weight

  • Ive been in inpatient and i'm a teenage girl, it didnt work though, the unit wasnt strict like rhodes farm is, everyone in this video looks at a healthy weight whereas everyone was still skeletal though they'd been there for weeks. i know recovery is about wanting to do it yourself, but there was so many temptations, it was the easiest thing to just be as ana as i was at home. i wish i was fixed :( what have i done wrong to get this :(

  • speak against bullying!

  • :(

  • I think I'm in love with Simon :3

  • 1:29 ;( ahhhh his bone poor boy omgsh

  • the difference between anorexia in males and females is nothing

  • @jafacake09 - 'i'm .15 below the line'

  • ohhhhhh dee look AWFUL

  • What does the girl say at 8:35 please?

  • At 3:14 -> is the problem cause.

  • @TheCatpuke fake and gay?

  • @TheCatpuke wow, you are massively ill informed

  • what is happening to this world....damn shame

  • I recognize the one called Simon, didn't he play Sophia's brother in Skins..?

  • @Bollo247 lmao:P

  • @GoDinosaurRawr Forgive, me I was kinda pissed when I wrote that but they're still similar looking... don't you think? o _ O

  • @Bollo247 yea they do look alike

  • @GoDinosaurRawr Exactly><

  • The reality of anorexic boys is an important issue, but their existence has been largely ignored because of the mythology of bitches as the only sufferers of any kind of adolescent condition. We just dont value our boys enough, and it has alot to do with the feministic fraud campaign which teaches that only bitches are "victims",only bitches struggle, and only bitches need help

  • Boys still have feelings like girls, they get low self-esteem too. Boys are also afraid of FAT, not just the girls, anyone who calls them gay don't even have a mind for themselves to understand how deadly anorexia is. It's just like cancer, you can't take control of it and you can die

  • they overkilled it with the constant death cab music

  • @WereFromTheCure You are so brainwashed, a disease? Mental disease? Thats just fancy way of saying someone has corrupted brainpatterns as in they dont think logically. So are you saying murderers and pedophiles all have a disease that they cant control? Listen you must take responsibility for your own actions. This whole new psychological science has us believing that we are no longer in control our impulses, thats the first step of brainwashing. looks like they have already gotten to you.

  • @papertreegun I agree that at the end of the day, it is a choice to feed or not to feed yourself, but at the end of the day it is still a mental illness. They can control their actions, they can't control their thoughts. The guilt, and anxiety they feel after every meal is almost second nature. No matter how many times a physician, or counselor, or monitor, or friend tells them it's going to be okay when and after you take a bite out of that croissant, they still FEEL like it's not ok.

  • My heart is broken with this...they´re kids! gosh!

  • Wow, you have a lot of nerve to call them gay after they went though a serious conditon that could have killed them.

  • @papertreegun thats a horrid thing 2 say, youre just making yourself look bad by saying things like that. these boys went through a very serious illness through no fault of their own.you dont even know them so take your cruel comments elsewhere.

  • @papertreegun They put themselves through this, I am not cruel I simply just speak the truth. You people are too busy trying to be politically correct. The fact of the matter is these boys are vain and obsessed with how they look, its the same reason girls do it, so they can look like supermodels. I dont need to know them actions speak louder than words. If they could eat all they want and not gain any weight I'm sure they would so its not like they are afraid of food. they are just vain.

  • @papertreegun I'm scared of your level of ignorance. You're the one who's been acting like a vain, superficial person, judging sick people this way. 'Cause this, my friend, is a DISEASE (and mostly related with neurotransmitters). Let's go and read more than those porn magazines behind your bed, loser.

  • @papertreegun you could not be further from the point my friend. This is Simon from the documentary by the way and i can assure you it is much more than wanting to look thin. in fact, when i started starving myself i was completely and utterly uninterested in how i looked, it was only later in the illness when i wanted to be thinner and thinner. so please, before you speak just think about it because i am a medical student at Cambridge Uni and do understand a lot about brain abnormalities now...

  • @papertreegun My cousin who's 13 has anorexia. He for one does not obsess with looking good or posting pictures on the internet for that matter. What you don't understand is, is that his brain is telling him not to eat, but his body is saying another thing. His parents have tried everything to get him to eat from rewards and punishments etc.

  • But still he will go to his room and starve because he is mentally ill. So tell me how could a 13 yr old boy have the will to starve himself to the brink of death. Surely if anyone else starved themselves they would give up instantly and eat because of the body been so demanding of food. Surely therefore there is something BIOLOGICALLY and PSYCHOLOGY wrong with the brain.

  • @papertreegun Hi i'm Declan and just reading these back since i wanted to see how people are getting on. And damn you are a small minded person. You have no idea what anorexia is like. And if that's what you believe you are far from the truth.

  • @papertreegun Excuse me...sexual orientation has nothing to do with this illness you are a horrible person

  • @papertreegun You are radically misinformed

  • @papertreegun You are an immoral disgrace! You are a very bad person, and a perfect example of everything a decent person isn't.

  • damn not the boys too :[

  • okay i had to repeat 4:55 a few times bc i thought he was saying that he was getting anorexic farts lol.

  • i dont get these "stone" measurements. could someone help me?

  • @louib716 1 stone = 14lbs. So say if somebody wanted to lose 28lbs, in the Uk we would say "I want to lose 2 stone". :)

  • @XxMeganTurnerxX ooooooooooohhhhhh. ty.

  • @XxMeganTurnerxX ooooooooooohhhhhh. ty.

  • @louib716 Me neither. :[ In my country, we use kilograms.

  • @ItsEryk lol i wonder if thats just an english thing.

  • This originally aired at some point in 2007 (september I think?)...I wonder how these guys are doing now? Did they manage to stay recovered? I hope so, they were so young and had great potential! Shame to see their lives ruined my Anorexia!

  • Lots of persons think only girls or boys who are gays can be anorexic... it's WRONG!

  • $27,750 AUD for 7 weeks in there...expensive enough

  • Declan (:

  • what's simon's full name?

  • @chillout159 Simon Cooper. He drives a little yellow car, and is friends with a sex pest. ;)

  • @chillout159 simon metin

  • i can't understand a single thing they're saying

  • @Dman761 I'm not from an english speaking country but I still understaind all your accents. So I don't know what don't you... it's your mother language for god's sake.

  • i wish i were anorexic :/

  • @Dman761 go for it

  • declan is sooo cutee... I'm anorexic, tried recovering, but just kept bingeing really bad so i gained alot of weight.. freaked out and am now going back, I have to recover the RIGHT way if i want to. So... i'll just go back and re-do everything. :/

  • @yowatzcrackinbiatch who cares

  • @LuniaVideo Me >_< I never said u had to care.

  • @yowatzcrackinbiatch Nobody cares so you shouldn't put it on youtube.

  • @LuniaVideo Alright, well then just don't read it or pay attention to it. Its that simple.

  • death cab for cutie, yay.

oh god, Thin, I'm a Child Anorexic, Dana the 8 year Old Anorexic, they are all such sad documentaries.

people should show more about male anorexia. we never know how many boys may be suffering because of this disease.

  • 345 pounds a day? Because the rich people are the only ones who deserve to be saved from death..?

Although I'm not sure how the British health care system works, so its cost could mean nothing, I guess.

  • @blueishmonkey1 The British health care system is ridiculous and disgusting. I was days from death at 30.4kg (about 67pounds) before I was sent to an inpatient ed clinic. And even then, it was full of ridiculous little rich girls who thrived on attention. (I didn't go to Rhodes Farm, I went to Huntercombe Edinburgh) :/

  • they are forcing them to eat!

    ...I don't think that's right...

  • @odiug95 they have to or else they will die.

  • shoot most boys I know dont even care about there figure atleast if your 12 and 13 I mean wow I used to be 80 pounds and I wished I was bigger

  • that guy's brain drawing was pretty awesome

  • This is a touching story but this clinic does so many things wrong..

  • GOKU! at 04:48

  • they shouldn't tell them how to eat. i mean yeah, make them eat but if she wants to tip her bowl up and get milk or whatever then let her. at least she's fucking eating it.

  • @BlondRussianShemale If that's supposed to be a joke it's not even funny.. you're an asshole.

  • @merrimankaylynn lol stupid bitch you're commenting just for the sake of commenting, maybe before doing that think up some "opinion" so you wouldn't have to do that in vain

  • @BlondRussianShemale Again you're kidding right?.. You're retarded.

  • @merrimankaylynn I agree! The only thing that the nurse does is make them fatter (wich is important for recovering!) but it's not everything. They should get love and respect untill they're ready to go further on their own.

  • @merrimankaylynn have u seen his name? he's just a troll

  • i'm hungry now.

  • :(...

  • Problem is when they become adults, if it comes back, they can't be forced. They have to really fix the mental issue rather than just stuffing food in their faces until they fatten up enough to send them home.

  • @Esoparagon Actually then can be as equally forced, their are similar clinics for adults. I agree that you cannot simply send someone home when they are at a healthy weight( not fattened up becasue their target weights are usually around a BMI of just over 18.5 which is regarded as skinny), however re-feeding is the first step becaseu you can't actually give therapy to anyone with a BMI under 16 because they simply cannot process anything becasue their brain is too under nourished

  • The one with the black hair is hot :3

  • I'm happy that they are getting their weight back.

  • AWWWW and they're so young and beautiful too!!! =( such a shame that boys actually suffer from this too =/ ::hugs for all anorexics::

  • The difference between male and female anorexia is really that females who suffer usually in there life have never been overweight and they are more afraid of gaining any weight, in other words more about managing there weight, extreme fear gaining etc. But with males , it is much more common that at any point in their life they were overweight and develop the disorder after the fact, being made fun of or picked on and the like.

  • i suffered aneroxia or was very underweight when i was 15. I was 52kg 180cm. Had low self esteem, confidence issues. Now i am 21 above 90kg 188cm tall. I am looking well now and am enjoying life although i have issues for what i suffered in the past during this illness in and out of school. People wouldn't believe me that i was that ill I will never go back to that. I am so happy that i recovered. What saved me was actually loved ones getting help for me. I wouldn't of done it and could of died

  • that one boy had cool har at the beging what was that in it though?

  • @roark100 red and blue feathers, I watched the doc when it prem'd first.

  • one of my teacher had Anorexia when she was young.. tht was rly sad

  • wow

  • 5:16, a painting of Super Saiyan 4 Goku! Hahahha, sorry, lol.

  • I am thin, I weigh about 120 LB and I am 5'5'' tall. I am underweight but I eat ALOT. My metabolism is so fast, it makes it hard for me to gain weight and I have been working out rigorously 3-5 times a week. The problem is that I feel like I eat alot when in reality I don't. I eat three meals a day but they are not exactly full meals and with my hectic school schedule, it gets tough to eat more. Its crazy how some people would die to eat and others just don't find the time too...

  • @pokemonguitar123 Close but me and Si are 18 :)

  • Hey its Declan im getting alot of facebook emails so heres my account name if you have facebook add Kal-El McCabe thats why people cant find me because i changed my name on Facebook my bad but i thought why not XD

  • @RydekSan i can't find you... :S

  • @TapeOnyourmouth Hmmmm strange that you cant find my Kal-El McCabe

  • @RydekSan could i add you on fb?

  • how long ago was this?

  • death cab for cutie ! =)

  • Skinny Declan with glasses reminds me of Harry Potter. Is that wrong?

  • @PinkoLady Wow thats a new one for me thanks i guess XD

  • what a pitiful story

  • @pokemonguitar123 18! :)

  • what's the song at the beginning called?the one played at the guitar..

  • the reason why they mainly don't look anorexic

is because they are in a recovery clinic and they

have gain weight there because thats what they

    are there to do

  • Lmao, look at Dee's hair. xD

  • how much is a stone in pounds?

  • @hotttuii about 14 pounds

  • omg is it me the only one who thinks declan is hot??

  • @TapeOnyourmouth omg i think so too

  • @TapeOnyourmouth Lol, Declan is my friend :)

  • @TapeOnyourmouth I know Declan :P

  • @TapeOnyourmouth Lol yeah, I've known him since primary school.

  • @TapeOnyourmouth hahaha thanks for that XD

  • @TapeOnyourmouth

What's even more hotter is that he's talented. You can just tell by how good he is at drawing the brain :)
