Ah, the wonderful sound of scratched vinyl! Really miss it! There is (or was) products to get rid of scratches on records...Peace, Love and Flowers! I was a hippie (still am) i even kept my clothing from back then...it makes a good hit a parties today. Everybody wants them! Groovy, man! Peace baby!
This was number one when I was in kindergarten. The older kids on the bus wold play it on a cassette over, and over, and over, and over. Hadn't heard it since.
@Threemuskateerettes Are you thinking of "Winken Blinken and Nod" (possibly not spelled this way)? There was a version of this poem put to music by the Simon Sisters in 1964. The Simon Sisters were Carly (yes, that Carly) and Lucy. I have also heard a version by the Big Three, who evolved into the Mamas & Papas.
Little Joe, how old are you? Just out of interest. I hope you are a young kid, otherwise you are as retarded as Bush!! Your grasp of basic English is fucking appaling!! You really must be a simpleton!!
Coka cola well its ok go to Glasgow Scotland and everyone drinks iron brew as a mixer... life choice ....pop is pop Coke the brand is massive worldwide good luck to them xx
It's a joke. Get a grip and get over it. man, I was making a joke with a friend on here. people like you make this world a crappy place to live in. Too uptight.
your comment did not sound like a joke. sorry. AND,,people like me that object to sick jokes make the world a crappy place to live??? who needs to get a grip?? me or you? sorry again that i could not read your mind. thanks for your comment. the second one, that is.
The first time I heard this song I was 2 or 3 and it was the Hillside Singers version. I would dress up, use an old paper towel roll (pretending it was a microphone) and sing the song to my parents. Now I'm in my mid 30's but I stil love the song. I also remember when Coca-Cola had their commercial & people were singing it too.
just to put it strait, new seekers did the coke jingle in 1970,then the hillside singers made a record of it in dec 1971,new seekers found out and polydor records rush released it in 2 days .new seekers were no1 all over the world selling 7 million with armfuls of gold discs except for america, because new seekers and hillside singers were both in the charts together seekers no7 hillside no15. fact.
Sorry to break your bubble but who had the hit with it, admittedly not the clowns that are going around now but neither was it the Hillside singers. (not the Hillsides!!!!
Stop fighting children. Both versions were recorded in the same week.. Hillsides won the race to release it first. Both records reached the same position on the charts. Hillside Singers just got there first. Personally, I peferred the Hillside's version. Sounds more like the commercial.. and even includes the slogan.. " It's The Real Thing! "
Do any of you people realise Obama wants to get rid of the national anthem because it is too "brutal and savage" and wants to make this song our national anthem?
Can anyone answer this? Coke did the 1971 commercial and they eventually made this single it was so popular. Coke then (to my knowledge brought back a re-made Christmas commercial in 1983/84 Christmas seasons. But some are saying the 83/84 version is actually from the 70s? Can anyone confirm this?
This was popular the year I graduated from college. It was a time when we actually thought peace could be achieved worldwide. I remember listening to this and then hoping on my Honda 450 loaded down with all my stuff and riding home to Louisville from Baltimore. It's a very strong memory. What great sound from the New Seekers.

I had a record with the song Winkin, Blinkin and Nod. I do not recall who sang it. It was a nursery rhyme.
Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod
Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod, one night sailed off in a wooden shoe;
Sailed off on a river of crystal light into a sea of dew.
"Where are you going and what do you wish?" the old moon asked the three.
"We've come to fish for the herring fish that live in this beautiful sea.
Nets of silver and gold have we," said Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod.

shut up, Oasis is the best and there's no way that they become talentless and unoriginal, are you insane?
TheInferno121 2 years ago
Ha. If there were no Beatles, Kinks, T-Rex or Rolling Stones, then yeah, Oasis would have been pretty original.
tobyobrie 2 years ago
Come on, every band or most of them took chords and the melody ,so Liam's favorite bands are, in part, the ones you've mentioned
