@sixxnote, you are completely correct, all the alkaline trio shows I have been to and the Heavens show I attended in Chicago (@the metro with Josiah instead) Dan has been spot on with every song no matter what, Crappy monitors or front of the house sound, and He has come through on every Harnony perfect; often correcting Matts Pitch, He is a musicians musician, and one of the best bassists touring today. Matt is a lyrical genius though but do not get me wrong Dan has pretty much learned it all

i think dans voice live is much more reliable than matts, ive heard performances where matt's voice sounds really strained but dams nearly always is consistent. maybe due to the amount of singing each does i dunno, or that matt smokes like a chimney

yea over the years dan's voice has stayed consistent. You listen to dan's songs from Goddamnit and listen to his songs on Agony and Irony and his voice has barley changed, which is brilliant.

I think Dan's vocals have improved by leaps and bounds since Goddamnit. A&I, I feel, was by far his strongest vocal performance. While maintaining a similar sound, unlike Matt who sounds totally different now (better, -technically speaking-), Dan has grown into a much more comfortable singer, which is evident in his impressive vocals on newer albums. He may sound similar to as he did in the 90's, but he has surely improved a significant amount on his vocals since then.

@DookieAdz In fact, he has improved A LOT as singer. His voice is way stronger than was. More touching, more delicate. Skiba has been evolving, passing through a very hard time on Good Mourning era. Recovering a voice after abuse of alcohol and tobaco is difficult.

well you have to keep in mind that dans vocals are amazing but if you have ever seen them live matt's vocals are still pretty rough. so I honestly think that for a clean cut acoustic version they did a very good job... I do agree that nothing beats the original.
