Great video man, and sorry for your loss - sort of! I love Volvos, especially the V70R, but car fires can be pretty spectacular too. Great video description as well, the best I've seen in a while! 5 Stars.
oh HELL YES! a "greasy" rag still needs a lot of heat to ignite and it's not going to get that at the battery. A fuel leak gives the top of the engine a bath in fuel while it's running and flashes when it finally works it's way to the exhaust manifolds.By the time you got out, the entire top of the engine was on fire.Europeon cars are FAMOUS for this.
@sundoor49 The car wouldnt loose power if your battery was on fire, batterys only start cars. Alternators do all the work after that. Fuel injector is ontop of your engine block. Injector leak and the gas could possibly run down to the exhaust manafolds. Depending on the age of the car it may not have injectors.
people should stop using their cellphone as a video camera.

Really? The car lost power and then the flames leapt out from the spot under the hood where the greasy rag was left.
So assuming it was a fuel injection leak, what would have caused the engine to ignite?
