  • So much death and destruction and for what .... oh what wasted life and destroyed families

  • tells a lot about a man when he respects what others did for him, many thanks nice to see

  • When I was there, you couldnt even see the beach the water was so high but it was still a great experience.

    Respects to the fallen.

  • my grandfather and my family went there and after fighting there on june 6th he fell to his knees and began to cry because all of his brothers died next to him literally they were all about 5 feet from him when they were mowed down

  • Very nice video! Whats the song?

  • jay hind..........vandematram...long live allied soldier...........god bless them those soldier who sacrifised for her motherland......who fought braveley.and omaha beach is s land of heros...namastay...

  • Thank you for such a great video memorial to so many Brave men. I stood on those beaches with my father at the age of 6 (1974) and although I knew something terrible and great had happened there I was too young to really grasp the magnitude of the event. Years later I stood in the now shallow trenches and cement bunkers of Dutch Harbor Alaska and a chill ran through me just thinking what must have gone through those men's minds. Your website looks great exploring now. thewaryears.co.uk

  • @Kintercept Many thanks for sharing your experiences with everyone on our channel and your kind comments.

  • Great video, man. Thanks for sharing.

  • @kabeludow1 Your welcome and thanks for taking the time to post a comment

  • The beaches are much changed now, but I think anyone with a little imagination cannot help but get a strange mixed feeling of horror and wonder walking on any of the battlefields of history, knowing what happened there. I look forward to returning to Normandy this June, so stay tuned.

  • Thank you so much for video, it must have been eerie walking on that beach.

  • @DrHeinersSanatorium that is very disrespectful to the men who died

  • What support was given the landing parties?

Was there air support to wallop the Nazi scum on the beaches?

  • @develophope Hi There: The story of the failures of Allied air support on D-Day are well known. Sadly the pre-landing naval and air bombardment failed to do the job, and most of the bombing from the air completely missed the beach, instead, bombing miles inland. The result was most of the German fortifications remained intact. The loss of nearly all the DD tanks also contributed to the near massacre that followed.

  • This beach is not nice to walk or even enjoy the holidays. Imagine then having to land under fire from machine guns on it.

Respect to all who have fallen.

  • @xiruahu Agree completely. Thanks for viewing and your comments

  • @DrHeinersSanatorium France why would the American's go to Hawaii?

  • Outstanding video.

  • Many thanks for your comments. I cover Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword beaches in my Overlord: D-Day video. I'm planning another visit to Normandy during the summer of 2012, so will collect lots more footage for new videos about both D-Day and the Battle for Normandy.

  • i know omaha beach was sad, bu dont forget the other beaches like utah, juno and storm, i forgot the other one

  • @SuperResnick remember the other beaches were never as bad as omaha beach was

  • @DKINGOFME45 oh ok

  • If i were in the war, we might have won in Omaha Beach! I played Medal Of Honor Allied Assault Omaha Beach no cheats not hit at least once. survived!

  • @johnnytimgudao if you're being serious, you sir are a retard

  • @xmikerinehartx you bastard!! you dont really have to reply a 2 week old comment!

  • About 3500 killed, wounded or missing officially, although some historians now believe the figure for Omaha might be more than 5,000 total casualties

  • very nice video...does anybody knoes how many were the casualties that the allies have?

  • May all Germans get f*cked by Americans!! Look at how furious they are, if i were there i torture the Germans no mercy! I SHOW THEM A TRUE RAGE!!!!! NO ONE HAS SEEN ME GO CRAZY BUT WHEN I RELEASE MY FURY THEYLL GO BAM!!!

  • @johnnytimgudao many german soldiers were forced to fight, american soldiers generally wouldnt kill a german soldier if they surrendered, senseless killing of anybody is inhumane

  • @johnnytimgudao 2011 ? not 1945... They were NAZI's !!!!

  • @johnnytimgudao so'd you'd kill me when i wasn't even alive then?

  • @WhitakerSJA uh... no. Only Nazis!

  • @johnnytimgudao sorry it's just the way you said "May all Germans get f*cked by Americans" ........so that includes me

  • not everybody is free.theres still people fighting & dieing.

  • we all forget how lucky we are, knowing that these people sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

    God bless you mate
