What is the meaning of "Mashmauyot"????* :)

  • @nolymjj

    Mashmaut= meaning

    Mashmauyot= meanings

  • I need to practice my Hebrew, I only understood like half the song...

  • Actually old Arabic sounds like Hebrew, but new Arabic dialects don't. Similarities include names for objects, body parts even whole sentences. Besides if I am not mistaken Hebrew people and Arab people have a common Grandfather, namely Abraham.

  • @lyssrocks99 גם אני

  • I would love to know what they're saying. Is anyone bilingual and bored?

  • Arabic is not the little sister of Hebrew. Both are distinct but related Semitic languages. Hebrew is the oldest but following the destruction of ancient Israel by the Romans, and the dispersal of the Jews, it went in slow decline. Arabic emerged in the 7th century CE and eventually became a world language following Arab-Muslim conquests. Hebrew was revived in the late 19th century along with the rebirth of Jewish nationalism and the creation of Israel.

  • I think that Arabic is the little sister language of Hebrew, since Hebrew is based on numbers, while Arabic isn't, nevertheless they are 80-85% similer. So if you already know Arabic it's very easy for you to learn Hebrew and vise-versa.

    Yom tov.

  • @aghabeypasha

Arabic is not the little sister of Hebrew, although they both are semitic languages, they sound very different, Arabic sounds more harsh, Hebrew sounds more soft.

Plus, Hebrew is one of the most oldest languages in the world, much older than arabic.

  • That song makes me want to learn hebrew, so i could understand it! It is a great song! =)

  • nice and ome part rememder me old songs of Nelly furtado.

  • close to arabic?? are u crazy?? hebrew is a beutiful language, how can u compare it to arabic??!!!

Great song, I love it :)

  • arabic sound similar to arabic

and i think arabic is a nice sounding language

  • because its similar. the grammer, evn a lot of the words, the way the sentences come about together.

  • jewish sounds very close to arab

  • actually, the languages are called "hebrew" and "arabic"

  • @fattirevsbud

The "jewish" luanguage its hebrew..and yea,it's pretty close to arabic

  • Very nice song, nice singers, nice video!

  • the fact is that i have tried translate this beautiful song and you did not.

all "the Mistakes" which you talking about could be changing by Interpretation. your comments were Marginal and really Childish, Probably not necessary

  • I dont understand a word of the song, but they are lovely, their voice is great

  • He whispers my secrets Hears my prayers Sees in my eyes Knows Comes to me in a dream Makes in my image The image of my soul Creates in me Reveals in me another world That calls out to me and is weaved I walk a road Til the king is alive and is here still

  • this song ("mashma'aooyot"-"Meaning") is kind of difficult to translate because it is about the meaning behind the words (and also inside her).

there is a lot of gibberish in it...

maybe someday i will have time and i'll be trying translate,

for now- take this sentence: (1:56)

"koolam rozim she'yaveinoo aotam-tam-tam-tam..."="everyone want that others to be able understand them-em-em-em..."

    :)

  • It's something like that... Listet carefully how to say it, hebrew is difficult :-) CH stands for a unique hebrew letter that doesn't exists in englis. Sorry... Enjoy! LO TAMID YOTSIM LI HAMILIM KTSAT MEKUSHKASHIM LO TAMID YOTSOT LI HAMILIM KTSAT MEKUSHKASHIM EAM TAUYOT, EAM TAUYIM GAM EAM SHGIYOT VEGAM EAM SHGIYIM, EAM LI BICHLAL LO YOTSOT HAMILIM RACK KISHKUSHIM MILMULIM TIFTUFIM (GIBRISH) MA ECHPAT LACH AZ TEKASHKESHI AT OSA ET ZE YAFE TASHIRI LI

  • I must all her albums she has a brilliant voice and the arrangements are fantastic.

  • which one of them? or both?? :)

  • I only have her introductory album released in the United States. The album contains the song,"New Soul". I have only started reading modern Hebrew therefore I am not sure of all the words but she is a talented pianist.

  • Din Din is in the light colored top. Yael Naim is in the green colored top. Gabriella has Yael's cd. :)

  • my comment was a response to "she is so talented" LOL, i know these singers. Who is Gabriella?

  • Oh I'm sorry! I've been having to tell people who is who. lol Gabriella is that person above me. I thought you were answering her or something. :dunno: Sorry for the confusion! lol

  • Lovely song!

  • that was wonderful my heart is swelling LOL

  • continuance:

everything i am, what i'm doing

everyone can understand what i am or what he is

    everyone wants to be understood

the sounds can tell it by themselfs

    with no words

    with no words

    * Few words are blurred in the first sentences intentionally, because in the hebrew version they sing in grammatical mistakes that you can't express in English

  • translation of the song from hebrew: not always the words comes out, slightly gabble not always the words comes ouot, slightly gaibble with errors and also with errours with mistakes and also with mistooks only gabbles, mumble, dripping what do you care, so gabble to, you do it nicely sing for me chorus: hidden meanings inside of you meanings meanings seeping to the sounds, they drop between the words

  • Hebrew is the most beautiful language.. I love it so much.. and it got so much meaning..

    I love this song too..

For the bored and negative people here, don't you have something better to do and think but negativity?

  • its kinda haerd too expleing about what the song is.. its about spelling mistak's and so on...

  • This is beautiful... can't understand a word, however, this is unimportant, it is a stunning song and I love the quirky film clip.

  • why can't people just enjoy the beautiful song and not bring in totally unrelated issues and start arguments

  • Splendid! really amazing! i wish i could speak Hebrew... Is there anone able to translate this beautiful song at least into english? i would be very gratefulllllll!

  • thank you veeeeeeeeeeeery much!!!!! :) greetings!!

  • beautiful song !

  • Well said!

(For anyone who doesn't know, she is telling Bakrah2 that he is wrong.)

  • dinastein44 is telling Bakrah2 that he is wrong, for anyone who does not know German. :)

  • you need to be ashamed!!! as an israeli's teenager I am so upset to hear such things! I can guess that you have never been in Israel and you don't understand a word from the song!

Hebrew is so different in its acsent from both arabic and germany.

And by the way, Hebrew is an older language than arabic(and so the bible!)

Then think twice before you said things that you don't know!

  • Modern Hebrew was created by Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, a man who lived from 1858-1922. It's based on what we knew of the biblical Hebrew language, but is largely created.

That said, the Hebrew "kh" sounds nothing like the German "ch." Though I must say that the Arabic "zh" sounds an awful lot like the French "jh" sound. Every time my professor would speak to me in Arabic, I'd answer in French, it sounds so similar. I've never made that mistake with Hebrew or any other language. I speak 10.

  • You probably would are do like, Yemenite Hebrew, esp, 'adeni. Also song by Legend Ofra Haza, Ahinoam Nini (e.g., אחינועם ניני במופע שירי כנרת בפסטיבל).

  • thank you, thats what i meant

  • someone is trying to show off with their last line... be modest... say i speak a few languages... do you really need the validation??

  • Sounds a bit like an israeli version of Nelly Furtado. Great!

  • beautiful just beautiful

  • Dose anyone have the lyrics to this song???? If so could you pleash post them? It be appreciated.

  • where dose she come from ??

  • I just can't get over how great this song is! I wish I knew where I could buy it! I haven't been able to find anywhere to buy Din Din Aviv's music. I found a link somewhere, but it didn't work. :( Maybe I will see if I can find her tour and get one that way.

  • Great video... but why is Napoleon Dynamite's brother in it?

  • Which one is which?

  • Yael is the one with her hair up in buns, in the greenish top/dress.

  • what lang is this in?

  • Hebrew.

  • אוי דין דין אביב פשוט גרועה, אבל זה שיר נחמד דווקא

  • SHALOM

  • I would like to be able to find Din Din's cd...

P.S. This song is by Din Din Aviv, Not Yaël Naïm. Naïm co-writted it, don't mix things up people.

  • This video is so nice to watch.

It's a lot better than the music videos that are completely blown out of proportion, just to make the song better.

But both the song and video are beautiful, so I love it!

  • LOVE IT!

  • שילוב מעניין, מפתיע ומוצלח בין שתי זמרות מקסימות.

  • i've never heard a modern pop song in hebrew, i'm american (go figure, right?). this is really pretty!

  • This song is really gooood can someone please translated into englisch ?? :):):):):)

  • its a beautiful song but it loses a lot in translation because of many lyrics games. this is my best try: "meanings" "words dont always come out to me a little bit doodling what do you care, so doodle you do it beautifuly sing to me... different meanings inside of you meanings seep to myself they fall between words i am what i am anyone can understand what i am or what he is everyone want to be understood notes can tell by theirselves with no words... with no words"
  • je prefere new soul

  • לא תמיד יוצאים לי המילים

    קצת מקושקשים

    לא תמיד יוצאות לי המילים

    קצת מקושקשים

  • משמעויות נסתרות בתוכך

    משמעויות

    משמעויות מחלחלות לעצמי

    הם נופלות לי בין המילים

  • I love this song, it's fantastic; does anyone know where i could get the lyrics, i tried to search for them on the internet but couldn't find them. Thanks!!
