  • @MrGillykins Practice Practice Practice! Model an hour a day and you'll pick it up fast. :)

  • What a good idea! i never thought of using a drawing for reference. : D

  • @Salivize easiest way to do it my friend! :P

  • uuuhhhuuu another great Blender 3D modeller....nice skills dude

  • edgeloops will vastly help with your characters, check out techniques on edge loop modeling. there are very good books on this topic. I feel like you're work would greatly benefit from proper edge loops.

  • @markycapone I totally looked into it about a month after this video! Hahaha! Definitely a great tip!

  • I just released it's the same company from AutoCAD, so now i understand what are you talking about

Ther are a lot of awesome videos here, thanks for your support.

    5*s

  • Have you finished the model?

    It Looks great

  • No, this was just practice, i did however do a full character model for a game over the summer, i think i just might have to do a video on that.

  • O.o

Let me tell you that the technique used in the video seems very versatile, plus easy.

What program features you use? Do you work in editing mode or sculpt?

  • It's VERY versatile a VERY easy, if you know what your doing. I've been doing characters for about 2 years now and it was only in march of this year when i started doing heads.

I never really use Sculpt since i tend to be a Polygon Nazi, and try to budget myself whenever i can. So i tend to work mainly in edit mode since i like the control i have over the mesh. Unfortunately i don't do much work in blender anymore since i started working over the summer. I mainly use 3ds Max now.

  • And 3ds Max .. Is it better than blender? If so, this is freeware?

    I'll look on google

  • 3ds Max is a commercial Software, so no, sadly it is not free :(

As for it being better than blender i can honestly say they are in leagues of there own.

Blender has a lot of awesome built in features (Compositing, Video Editing, Game Dev, and a whole bunch more!) But it lacks full mesh control.

    While

3ds max has an AWESOME set of unwrapping tools, some really nice mesh control (placing cuts, how things are subdivided etc) and it is awesome for all kinds of work. But, it does have limits.

  • @MysticDuder

3ds max has an AWESOME set of unwrapping tools??

No, this is not true, sorry.

  • @Fu3r82 I find them very easy to learn and use. Just my own opinion on it. Do you know of a better one? I'd love to learn it!

  • How do you connect verticies?

  • I believe that alt+m and then select how you would like to connect them.

    hope it helps!

  • Thanks!

  • Nice but your refrence isn't that goo ^__^"

  • my name is draegon

  • Oh i have been, but one of my recent projects involved anime style characters and i didn't have much of an idea on modeling that kinda of style.

Thanks for the advice though! :)
