The main difference between a 5.-5.5 and a pro is consistency in particular, feel, serve and return(a lot of this based on racket speed. So while there are probably 5.0 players in the world that could hit like this and look like this, the level of true control is entirely different because of practice and talent. So yea looks like a 5.0 hahaha

Murray's technique is a little bit strange in that he doesn't lay his wrist back until he begins to swing forward into it. It makes his arm look a little bit more stiff and his shoulder moves his whole arm through as opposed to the more whippy, wrist-heavy ground strokes of Nadal.

I actually like Andy's forehand a lot. He can pound the ball pretty hard (watch him beat Nadal US Open '08) or hit loopy shots. Very difficult to read as well because of the big backswing.

Andy Murray's game is pretty in fact its one of the prettiest in the game. If you are a true fan of tennis then you would understand that the players who are the most fun to watch are the ones who don't have a truly dominating shot like a roddick serve or a nadal forehand, those who have to win with tactics are in my humble opinion the most fun to watch. I will however not argue with the fact that the prettiest game is Federer but for different reasons.

However, I'm not saying in the slightest that Murray's game, and more specifically, forehand isn't effective.

I agree and disagree fitness obviously has quite a bit to do with success on a tennis court however that in my mind is a facet of Andy's game but more importantly is his style of play and being able to have such a large bag of tricks to pull are what sets him apart from the vast majority of tennis players on the ATP.

I'm not sure - I mean yeah, he does have a big range of shots to use, some better than others. He has some great shots, like his dropshot, but some parts of his game need big improvement (2nd serve inparticular). But I do think it depends against who he plays against. E.g. playing Federer, he can't rely on range of shots, because he knows Federer has a huge range. His shot placement has got a ton better in the last year or so though, which has helped him in the bigger matches

His forehand is amazing. Notice how he uses his left arm to push the racket back behind his body so when he swings he gets his whole weight behind the shot as well.

And if you want to take tips from his forehand don't watch the ball at all watch his movements. Especially the position his racket arm finishes in ;)

Very efficient technique. I try to teach the kids to set up with the racquet away from the body, like Andy. Too many of them start the backswing with the arm almost fully bent, and the racquet over the head.
