thisis truly beautiful, i want to thank you for uploading it and I wish you knew who had left these cd's behind because I want to thank them too. I wanto go to Scotland twice as much now <3
Being the last on our branch of the family tree to carry the name (that would be the Braveheart surname), bagpipes go straight to my heart. I will carry my Scottish maiden name with pride as long as I am on Earth. This is so amazingly beautiful. Thank you. I listened with my heart as chills ran up and down my back.
Something about having Scottish in your blood that just sends a chill down your back when you hear those pipes playing. Something in your soul. Thank you for posting this. Cheers from a proud Scottish American!
@tommy192771 totally agree i just moved from Scottland to thhe states and hearing this makes me think of home i will always be a scottish girl at heart
I was an active duty Marine, but still am a United States Marine. Don't ever question what America has lost or has forgotten because by my math we have still kicked everyones ass. It's a blanker statement, as I am aware. I faught for my family and my brothers standing beside me. Don't make this great song some BS political or cultural stand because it's so much better than that. You have this luxury because of my fallen brothers.
@mrAZcardinal Whether you like it or not, those hot dogs, breast implants and fat people have all come from diverse European cultures (Irish, English, Scottish, Italian, et cetera) as well as many non-European cultures.
@mrAZcardinal I wouldn't say that--a mere stereotype. I am sure you know its past well, I know its past well, everyone I know knows its past well. People love to hate the prosperous, even if it be themselves. As an amalgamation of cultures the United States cannot identify with any particular one over another. Unless you can say that you have forgotten your heritage, become fat and artificial, then don't go on to assume that your fellow compatriots have.
@mrAZcardinal Well, if you recognize that you're a fat, lazy, forgetful American then you're at least ahead of those who are ignorant and I laud you even for that.
@mrAZcardinal If you consider 6' at 150 lbs and an athletic build to be fat, then sure ^_^ That's what I mean about stereotyping; you can't apply general rules to everyone.
@mrAZcardinal I'm American, but unlike many people, I haven't forgotten the culture of my ancestors...I still honor the traditions used by the Celts, some of which are still used today.
So before you try to stereotype people, you might want to look at another perspective of the picture.
I heard this song YEARS ago on the Thistle and Shamrock radio program. I used to have it recorded on a cassette tape, that's how long ago it was. Thanks for uploading!
Man will fight for ones country, And man will die for ones country, But nothing could take the strength and hope music gives to people. GREAT SONG! :D
@lordofchaosrb the way the word epic is used now you could use it for this. its just like the word awesome. you can use the word awesome to describe an atrocity. but its not used in the positive sense.
For men will wage war, men will fight, and men will die. But in our hearts music like this will live for eternity. Giving hope and strength to thousands.
@Chimicozzo slight misinformation. These are definately Scottish Greath Highland Bagpipes, but the constant sound of the drones do not usually lend themselves well to recording against a melody. So either the drones were shut off, or this was done with an electronic pipe chanter with the drones not turned on. There is no such instrument known as "Celtic Bagpipes"
Sons of Uisnech is the name of the song - there are a few versions out there - the one that I have is on a CD called Celtic Twilight 2. Amazon shows the song as having a slightly different spelling variation: Sons of Eisenach by Mychael Danna. :) I love this song. And the CD is great really.
Is it me, or are bagpipes the most bad ass sounding instruments evar?

@lordofchaosrb Epic doesn't need to be upbeat and intense. This is as epic as anything.
Epic means you do one of the following:
a) Go into battle with the song
b) Die to the song
c) Save the world to the song
GameBeard 10 months ago 2
@GameBeard I'll do the three of them! Well, at least the first and the second one^^
