  • I love the pipes,majestic and beautiful.

  • I'm of Irish/Scottish decent and listening to this makes me want to hop a plane and never come back here! HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL!

  • Being the last on our branch of the family tree to carry the name (that would be the Braveheart surname), bagpipes go straight to my heart. I will carry my Scottish maiden name with pride as long as I am on Earth. This is so amazingly beautiful. Thank you. I listened with my heart as chills ran up and down my back.

  • Beautiful song, it sounds heartbreaking sometimes!

  • I wish I knew how to play bagpipe, might give it a try

  • Simply wonderful :)

  • Wow It was worth listening to! My Grandfather used to play pipe bags for us on Christmas as I

am Half Scots & French Canadian. Papa Bill was born in Scotland....When I listened to this,

memories just pour thru me & spine chilling but nice...Thanks for passing that on,Mhac!

  • Something about having Scottish in your blood that just sends a chill down your back when you hear those pipes playing. Something in your soul. Thank you for posting this. Cheers from a proud Scottish American!

  • MICHIGAN IS BEAUTIFUL, ESPECIALLY BY THE LAKE<3

  • those who have an ear then let them hear.

  • it's beautiful! <3

  • why do i find this so calmin n soothin

  • I was an active duty Marine, but still am a United States Marine. Don't ever question what America has lost or has forgotten because by my math we have still kicked everyones ass. It's a blanker statement, as I am aware. I faught for my family and my brothers standing beside me. Don't make this great song some BS political or cultural stand because it's so much better than that. You have this luxury because of my fallen brothers.

  • Bagpipes have such a powerful feel to them.

  • I can die for this song...

  • truly amazing music

  • Thank you...

  • (To twirlingchair) So was this uploaded from a geocache you found, or did you somehow forget your stash of books and stuff out in the rain?

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • T_T wow. I wish I belonged to such a culture! America sucks... *sniff*

  • @mrAZcardinal America's culture was built upon others such as this.

  • @Proelium7 hot dogs, breast implants and fat people? I don't think so.

  • @mrAZcardinal Whether you like it or not, those hot dogs, breast implants and fat people have all come from diverse European cultures (Irish, English, Scottish, Italian, et cetera) as well as many non-European cultures.

  • @Proelium7 maybe so, but "America" has long forgotten their ancestors culture and made up their own boring crap.

  • @mrAZcardinal I wouldn't say that--a mere stereotype. I am sure you know its past well, I know its past well, everyone I know knows its past well. People love to hate the prosperous, even if it be themselves. As an amalgamation of cultures the United States cannot identify with any particular one over another. Unless you can say that you have forgotten your heritage, become fat and artificial, then don't go on to assume that your fellow compatriots have.

  • @Proelium7 Oh, I said it. Truth hurts huh? :/

  • @mrAZcardinal Well, if you recognize that you're a fat, lazy, forgetful American then you're at least ahead of those who are ignorant and I laud you even for that.

  • @Proelium7 I thought you were the fat one? Oh, you are. huh? ^_^

  • @mrAZcardinal If you consider 6' at 150 lbs and an athletic build to be fat, then sure ^_^ That's what I mean about stereotyping; you can't apply general rules to everyone.

  • @mrAZcardinal I'm American, but unlike many people, I haven't forgotten the culture of my ancestors...I still honor the traditions used by the Celts, some of which are still used today.

So before you try to stereotype people, you might want to look at another perspective of the picture.

  • "....outlawed tuneds played upon outlawed pipes..." Live on and rock on, my awesome Scottish pipers! God bless you and yours! =)

  • I heard this song YEARS ago on the Thistle and Shamrock radio program. I used to have it recorded on a cassette tape, that's how long ago it was. Thanks for uploading!

  • my my... it makes me dream and fly away

    very beautiful

  • beautiful!!!!!

  • I can imagine this being played in Braveheart

  • me hace sentir heroico!!!!!!

  • Anyone agree this song makes you think a little more about life?!

  • it is beautiful love it

  • I want that chair.

  • @theFPbros123

i think that we all do.

  • this kind of songs make me cry dude...i imagine me in a mountain like in the film of braveheart and see the land, the sun...omg !

  • HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! SO AMAZING!!!!

  • music is wordless hope that cannot be stopped by borders or ideology.

  • Absolutely amazing!

  • Man will fight for ones country, And man will die for ones country, But nothing could take the strength and hope music gives to people. GREAT SONG! :D

  • where can i get the notes for this

  • this is calm and slow...not epic.....awesome song still

  • @lordofchaosrb the way the word epic is used now you could use it for this. its just like the word awesome. you can use the word awesome to describe an atrocity. but its not used in the positive sense.

  • @lordofchaosrb Epic doesn't need to be upbeat and intense. This is as epic as anything.

Epic means you do one of the following:

    a) Go into battle with the song

    b) Die to the song

    c) Save the world to the song

  • @GameBeard I'll do the three of them! Well, at least the first and the second one^^

  • @lordofchaosrb There is an epic nature to its beauty and passion though--"extending beyond the usual or ordinary."--Merriam Webster (defining "epic")

  • For men will wage war, men will fight, and men will die. But in our hearts music like this will live for eternity. Giving hope and strength to thousands.

  • this song really tears me up sometimes!

  • Because is an Celtic Bagpipes...the Scottish Bagpipes have drones

  • @Chimicozzo slight misinformation. These are definately Scottish Greath Highland Bagpipes, but the constant sound of the drones do not usually lend themselves well to recording against a melody. So either the drones were shut off, or this was done with an electronic pipe chanter with the drones not turned on. There is no such instrument known as "Celtic Bagpipes"

  • Actually I just looked it up on iTunes, it is The Drowning Plains by Mychael Danna.

  • Sons of Uisnech is the name of the song - there are a few versions out there - the one that I have is on a CD called Celtic Twilight 2. Amazon shows the song as having a slightly different spelling variation: Sons of Eisenach by Mychael Danna. :) I love this song. And the CD is great really.

  • thanks for the info! :D

  • Why are there no drones?

  • Gosh. I really want this song. But i don't know the name of it.

  • @GMoneyChuck Sons of Uisnech

  • @GMoneyChuck just download youtube video downloader, and download the video, then convert it to mp3 format, and ull have ur song

  • @GMoneyChuck The name of this song is Drawning plains

  • Amazing song! Good Post
