Aww - this is so sweet it made me cry. What a total little darling Boo is, and how blessed you all are to share your lives and love together. I love Boo!
This made me cry! Partially because Boo looks like one of my birds but mostly because this was a touching story. What brave little bird and what a loving family.
Little Boo looks so HAPPY! She seems so darn sweet, how could you NOT love her! I have a hadicapped Senegal Parrot (broken wing, tendons healed so he can't spread his left wing all the way, so he can't fly), and Man, the joy that nippy, yet loving and playful parrot can bring! I love him so dearly. I am glad God brought him into my life! (i rescued him). And I thanks God for Angels like you and your family for caring and loving an amazing creature. LOVE YOU BOO!! <3
Thats beautiful. Reminds me of our Gibby. He had the same colouring as your Boo, I got him from a pet shop splay legged. He lived with us for 12 years. I am glad He shared himself with us. I have his ashes in a little urn to have him close forever
We have many birds here in our home. Mostly larger parrots, but we also have budgies. We had a very special budgie named "Figaro" for almost 10 years. He was a sickly young parakeet and I had to hold him a lot to give him medicine, etc. and to care for him. He became super tame and was a joy to have as a pet. He has since passed away, but we will never forget him. I am convinced that if you handle a parakeet frequently, they lose their fear of you and become very affectionate.
God love you... I have a few handicapped keets from mommy sitting to hard on them at hatching.. they have spunk and I thank God that Boo has a family like you!!!!! Love you all.. please give lil Boo scritches from me and my flock.... Bless You!!

Boo is a very special budgie... she reminds me of our "Budgieboo" (also green) who lived to be 15+ yrs... and her family is an inspiration to all, that birds are not "disposable", but members of our family to care & love to the end, no matter what! A tear jerker, really! This is sooo touching, I know your plight, I've had to care for my lovebird after he broke his lower mandible, he spent 10 days in the hospital (it was touch and go for a while) and could not eat any hard food for weeks. I fed him with a syringe until he fully recovered. Despite all the not so nice manipulations he had to suffer, he became even sweeter than before, like he understood. I don't mind the cost, getting him back in shape was all that mattered to me.
That is just beautiful. We should never give up on the animals who trust us with their care. Boo is a special bird with special human companions. You are lucky to have each other xoxo
@BassBoyGio how long has it been? have you seen a vet? there could be many reasons for this problem : inflammation, sciatica, kidney tumor, mechanical trauma etc. some of which can be managed. You should put him in a small, warm (put a heating bag under the cage floor), covered cage, away from other birds if any, and see a vet...

this video is soo touching. i feel bad for boo. :( i have 2 budgies and they flew into the windo be for they were knocked out for 5 minutes. heres a tip if u get a new bird aand its flying around try closing the curtuns so they wont try to fly to the window to make a break for it.

I too have a budgie with a leg injury , i amazed how close ur to ur budgies, wen i take my hand near my budgie it gets scared, Can u tell what should i do to get close to my injured budgie and take good care of her.
@rtyankeedoodle I gave Boo lots of treats by hand, so she got used to my hands quickly. I talked to her gently, too. I hope you get closer to your injured budgie. good luck :)
@rtyankeedoodle Line your bathtub with towels and grab yourself a pillow and a book or some music. Climb in with your budgie and some treats and it have non-threatening time with you.
One of my budgies lost the use of one of her legs in an accident, but never let that slow her down at all either. I'm so glad Boo has such a loving family surrounding her :)
I'm glad that there are still people like you, people who would help other being to live. Video makes me sad but also happy. I hope she will live long with that spirit she has.

Not that this matters, because the important thing is the will to persevere and that Boo is incredibly wonderful judging by the video. But I think your Boo is actually a boy. In some shots his nose looks incredibly blue. But Parakeets are hard to tell sometimes. I hope you have Boo many more years.

I haven't cried like that in a long time. Give that special little bird of yours a kiss and a scratch from me, and then give yourselves one for being such beautiful people. It is not every day you see such dedicated caring people, who would take the time to care for a handicapped pet.

that was a great video! Perhaps you find still another further handicapped budgie, so that Boo becomes a budgie-partner? My oldest Linnie Moritz injured itself at the bill, long times he was fed and maintained by its friends.

This was so touching to watch... positive proof that "Everything that lives, loves life" even after its quality must change. Bo's a happy little bird, a very lucky little bird.

Thank you for posting such an inspiring and beautiful video. My Dolly flies around the house and I worry about her. But she told me that she could be strong like Boo if anything were to happen. Dolly is a white bellied caique. I know how much one can love one of these little birdies. God bless you all.

wow that is really precious, like all the people here I cried and watching this wonderful story. Boo is such a special birdie, looking so tiny and fragile but at the same time such a fighter. I am really thankful there are families like yours that do not give up on little beings.

I haven't cried like that in a long time. Give that special little bird of yours a kiss and a scratch from me, and then give yourselves one for being such beautiful people. It is not every day you see such dedicated caring people, who would take the time to care for a handicapped pet.
I'm not religious but... Bless your hearts, may every god in this universe smile down upon your beautiful souls.

Awww, I cried while watching this because of how touching it is. You have a beautiful and strong little birdie there, and I am so happy that Boo has such a wonderful and loving family to take such great care of her. She really is an inspiration!!!!

i found this video from @onepickiechickie 's fb page and i have to admit i'm crying. as a human who's disabled the same way boo is i know the challenges she faced and i'm glad to see her come out on top! :)

Hi Nick,
that was a great video! Perhaps you find still another further handicapped budgie, so that Boo becomes a budgie-partner? My oldest Linnie Moritz injured itself at the bill, long times he was fed and maintained by its friends.
