How to install the LoStKernel on the Samsung Epic Touch 4G

I was using the stock ROM from Sprint, and had the LOSkernel installed and it worked great! I just installed the CM7 Alpha rom on my 4G touch, but noticed it has a different kernel.

Do I need to install the LOS kernel on the CM7 ROM also?

Do I need to install the LOS kernel on the UnNamed ROM also?

What are the results of this, does it really help with LOS? Which we could do a poll on this thing.. I don't have the samsung epic touch 4g yet but, the LOS is making me hesitate.

question - not sure why but i updated the lostkernel to a new version and i no longer can overclock. in setcpu it only goes up to 1200.

How can i get it to show up to 1600? im searching everywhere for help

Yeah, the home button did work, total noob move, found out about it while on my way home.

But the other problem persists, I can no longer overclock my phone. This isn't a show stopper for me since the phone operates beautifully stock, but it would be nice to be able to push it a little bit. I mean I think I can set it higher through the manual settings, but I am not that into it, I would rather used the canned settings that come with tegrak pro. 1 day in and no LOS, kernel works great!

got an error saying that the superuser binary is outdated after flashing this kernel. tried to update it, but i keep getting an error. is this something to worry about?

@tktran215 No not at all.. try going into superuser and updating it.

I did just like your video showed, worked well, booted up and everything, but now if I go into CWM my power button doesn't select. The volume buttons still scroll, however I am unable to select anything, which as you might imagine would make reinstalling the kernel a bit of a pain. I can redo it with Oden, but I was wondering if you knew of a fix.

Also I have Tegrak for overclocking. I was able to go up to 1600mhz with it with Zedomax, however now it tops out at 1200mhz.

@ManAW1VI it has to do with ad hoc on your laptop. Try setting your profile to galaxy s in wifi tether..

@frozenquest Are you sure you downloaded to zip version and flashed that through CWM? I'd say re download and flash it again.

Great videos..!! just a question.. about this lostkernel.. if I have already rooted my et4g and I install this kernel.. will it delete my old kernel that is alreaady installed? and do I need to wipe cache? wil it delete all mine contact and files? Thank you

@bigtrailcde Yes it will overwrite your current kernel. Wiping cache doesn't touch any phone data :)

@bigtrailcde You would have to backup your kernel first (I don't actually know how). And now, Wiping the Cache will not clear your contacts. Just make sure your wiping the cache and not the whole phone. There are two options and they're pretty specific with which is which, you shouldn't have a problem, if you haven't done it already.
