Awesome vid. I myself just got back from a trip to the 1000 Islands near Canada. One of the things I love about getting out into nature is how it just blows the crap right out of your head and leaves you feeling clean and fresh upstairs.
I have been to all the stops you have shown on this video Kyley. The video dose not even start to show how beautiful it really is. If anyone watching this gets the chance to visit NZ then go for it, you wont be disappointed.
@nomar2283 its truly stunning down there.. and at 4 degrees its just a nice brisk fresh clean air. the photos dont embody it well.. but then.. there are places all over the world just as great.. but this is only 1/2 a day away :D
nice to see you enjoing ya self mate, my sister want's to move to newzeland she most definatley will when she's finished university, beautiful country so jealous but in a nice way. deano
@12345macka I think she will love it here. there are a lot of options, but its a very quiet country except for the major cities like Auckland and Wellington.
@stripymccatpuss lol.. I think the same when I see your videos.. Scotland is an awesome place.. I'm a harris though, so perhaps I have historic bias. Perhaps a visit to the Isle of Harris? :)
Amazing country I may have to take a trip down there. How far are you from where they film the Lord of the Rings movies? That is my all time favorite series of books and movies.
@Nebulax123 The filmed it all over the place.. but Matamata is where they did the Hobbit Village and thats about 1 hour away from Auckland.. You'd have a great time here.
I remember reading in the NZHerald about some politician pontificating during the filming of LOTRs that NZ was being ripped-off by Peter Jackson and how NZ wouldn't receive any short or long term economic benefit from shooting there.
I wonder if that pol had anything to say when The Hobbit started shooting or did he keep his gob shut? :-D
@sae1095hc they are idiots.. there is always huge gain to be made when a film comes here.. Even if you give them 100% tax credits on the film, the industry and the local population get swamped with cashflow that never would have existed. Sure the film companies "rip" us off.. but its still a better deal than filming somewhere else.. There was someone trying to form a union and force pay equity with foreign actors.. lol.. They just said they'd leave.
Beautiful country.

Really cool! (literally!)
What volcano is that by the hotel? When did it last erupt?
Soon enough I will have frost too, but for right now, it is 95 degree days!

@traderjoes go click the link in the description. Mount Ruapehu is an active volcano.
An eruption occurred on September 25th 2007. Only Ski field on an active volcano.
