I've seen Valdy at least five times back in my university days. He was always the ultimate gentleman and entertainer. My favorite of his is entitled "A Good Song".
saw him twice at 'small' venues near my farm...did a benefit in bancroft, ontario (mineral capital of canada!!!) and appeared at the havalock festival.
I agree with CountryJohn! I love Gordon Lightfoot but Canadian radio stations should give some air time to Valdy and the Hometown Band. He's the essence of Canada for me. I grew up in the states. "So come, so come on my Canada-ahh..."
Someday, people who saw Valdy live will be the witnesses to a true Canadian folk legend. Probably one of the most under-appreciated artists in the music industry. See him while you can. Orville Boutilier

I grew up on this stuff, I love it. wish I could find 'Rock and Roll Song' or 'renaissance art' or 'Sonny's Dream'

I was there when Valdy played. I'm Darrell Grant's student, I really enjoyed the concert that day!
