Berry Gordy need his but kicked for shelving this album , he wasn't a very smart business man after all as far as I'm concerned, this is just my opinion. He didn't allow David's fans to enjoy his music like we were entitled to. He actually short changed us when it came to Mr. Ruffin, and for that I have resentments towards Berry.

I've listened to both versions of this song,(Rainy Night In Georgia) by Brook and David. I remember when this song came out, and I really didn't like it at all. But when I saw it on line and saw that David was singing it. I first said to myself I don't like this song , and why is David singing this boring song. However I decided to listen to it, and was blown away, I couldn't believe my ears. Such vocal range that David put into this song is unbelievable,a musical genius, no one can't deny that.

I LOVED David. The Temptations were the first concert I ever went to at the Filmore Auditorium in San Francisco. I was front and center holding on to the stage. I never liked this song at all. However when I heard David singing this song I couldn't believe my ears. He's definitely a true musical genius. When you can make a person like a song, and then fall in love with the song , is pure genius. Now I understand everything about David's talent, a lot of people just wasn't ready for him, including MOTOWN and alot of the artist at Motown. I really didn't like this song at all. When I heard David Ruffin sing this, I was mesmorized in how his vocal range was so excellent. He put in this song so much emotion that I knoww Brook Benton was probably jealous of David's version. I know I would have been. However David was an exception to the rule when it came to having vocal range, what a gifted and annointed man with an exceptional voice. No one can do it like David Ruffin

First, the reason why this is a bad remake of the Brook Benton classic is not because of David's vocals although this not his song. Brook crushed this song, but more so the opening guitar riff ain't hittin' it. Who is the brother responsible for the opening guitar riff of the Brook Benton original version. I think the brother just passed. But listen to that guitar riff and you will see it makes the whole song go smooth.

Man, I've read misguided statements on youtube, but this a doozy. Listen to "I've Got Dreams To Remember" or his cover of "A Change is Going to Come" and get back with me on that. The man oozed feeling. I love both Ruffin and Redding, but I never feel the need to tear down one artist to try and pump up another. You see this all the time on youtube.
