  • You cant buy a quad core mac.... are you high?

  • it would cost as much as an iMac you idiot

  • Windows 7 > OS X at pretty much every thing.

  • Huuuuge Mac OS X fanboy.

  • What a waste of time!!!!

  • I wasted my time watching this, the only thing I liked is the song, YOU SUCK FUCKER

  • Please anybody help me?!

This video card supported to leopard and snow leopard ???

    QUARTZ-EXTREME & CORE IMAGE (QE&CI) FULL SUPPORTED ???

    This is: Ggiabyte GV-NX84S512HP 8400GS 512MB

    Sorry my english! Thanks!

  • i want 60 sec back

  • you can buy a qouad mac imac and macpro mac pro goes up to 12 cores

  • apocalyptica?

  • oh yea, this is that wack ass video i saw a month ago, everyone was raggin on it cuz it didnt show shit, basically a computerized version of a movie trailer, but with no scenes. at least movie trailers come with scenes, you dont give us shit!!! FAIL

  • in other words, if you are not part of the solution, at least try not to be all or a large part of the problem..... oh, just so all of the rest of you know, if you dont want to spend the money to buy a real mac, dont slam the mac os when it gets a little flacky around the edges, which it will, its not called a HACKENTOSH for nothing, remember, i have built it, and the bugs did come,

hell, if youre all willing to argue 9 months on the os debate, you may as well get into the amd vs intel debate.

  • snow leopard is ridiculously easy to use and is a powerhouse for animation, music and video editing etc. linux has and always will be the most stable. i have a server running fedora core that has an uptime of more than 4.5 YEARS, and to those who think you cannot play win games on anything but a pc is severely misinformed because i do it all the time. i actually prefer alot of my newer games on my 24" imac than on my pc with much better specs, y cause i can ( without boot camp).

  • kids, sit down and be quiet, or i will turn this bus around. here is the long and short of this debate which btw i cannot believe has been going for at least nine months, jeez, have you all nothing better to do? yes, it is true the mac os is harder to crack, yes, it is true windows gets more virii, yes it is true linux is the better of them all. now, as someone who has ALL of them, and i do mean ALL, even my very own bright shiney hackintosh, each has its own strengths and good and bad

  • very good ... but what is the motherboard ??

  • That is sad that you are spreading lies. You can have a Mac with four cores. Haven't you ever heard of the Mac Pro? Yeah, you can get eight cores on it. You obviously didn't do your research when you criticized Apple's products. They are better and more reliable than any other computer that I've used, and that's why I use them. If something else comes along that is better, I would consider switching. Just don't spread lies.

  • @catchatyou i think the same but apple products overpriced their products i mean, you can have a powerful hackintosh with the same things of mac pro at halfprice!

  • @kikeronaldo You will always run into more problems if you go the Hackintosh way.

  • This is a terrible video. We don't need to hear coming soon... who gives a crap. This video was a waste of my time. I can't believe no one else thought so. Don't make a video with so much hype and no explanation or at least a prototype. What a waste.

  • @dlcevo1 Well at least 90% of the people who watched it liked it, according to Youtube Insight, so I guess your just a pathetic and miserable outcast to society.

Good luck with your life man.

  • @appleguy77 lies.

  • win 7 all the way man I have snow Leopard and it sucks

  • too bad my budget is about $100, not 1,200 XDDD

  • apple has cool software but there hardware is stupid. you can get a sorta good computor for $2000 with apple but with pc you can get one just as good for 750

  • I'm not gonna believe that without some evidence.

Customize a dell with the same specs as the mac pro and get back to me with the prices.

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry the comment before was me on my fiances account, Safari didn't sign her out.

I don't believe you can get a PC for that price with those specs, maybe the same price give or take. But not a big difference.

    Plus I don't like Windows - I think it's slow and dimwitted.

  • @appleguy77 a normal dell or an alienware?

  • @appleguy77 fact is... with a pc you can customize... and for the record he is spot on...

  • @appleguy77 he wasn't talking about customizing a dell. he was referring to building a PC. go to neweggDOTcom

  • @jrroelle I think he understands that... he is talking about building a computer in this video...

  • @SenoreQueso appleguy77 was saying you cannot go on dells website and customize a dell with the same specs as a macbook pro. I was saying that customizing a computer through the manufacturer isn't the same as building one yourself from scratch. Appleguy is using terrible logic to try to win an argument.

  • @SenoreQueso My comment is regarding appleguy's respone to 10ioio at the top of this page. Please know what you're talking about before commenting. Thanks.

  • BUT can it run crysis no didnt think so lol

  • LOL ofcourse it can, but you have to boot into Winblows.

It can run Left4Dead, Half Life 2, Portal, GTASA, Battlefield 2142, and COD4 in Mac OS X though.

  • It can. Maybe you don't understand that my computer is a PC, it runs Windows 7 fine, and I have played crysis on it.

  • does it matter? no.

  • Mac is a better built OS, smoother, better looking, OpenGL is better then DirectX but harder to program there for people prefer the simplicity of the directX API.

The reason i dont switch to mac is the lack of software i use. there are 'mac alternatives'. but there are no games, sure you can argue there are, but they are few.

id switch when there are games.

go DarWine! limited windows functionality FTW!

  • LOL @ your picture dude

  • Reason why Macs don't have viruses:

Nobody is going to spend their time trying to crash a system built to edit pictures and videos. And because of it's simplistic use, no computer programmers or anyone with the knowledge of how to make viruses uses it. People could learn to make viruses for Mac, but why bother?

  • Simplistic use? And what does the average PC user do? Genetic decoding, automated flight control operations, payment processing?

No, they use their PC for the internet and email. That's it. Most of them think you type a url into the yahoo search box.

Why do virus writers target a group like that? Because they like causing havoc - it's fun. It's like pranking millions of people.

  • So you're telling me that people who deal with C++, C, C#, Javascript, Perl, Ruby, etc. use Macs?

Btw, you described the average COMPUTER user. Because most people I've seen with a MAc, do the same god damn thing.

Also, people who write trojans/viruses write them for Windows because it's easier. If they wanted to write them for Mac, they'd have to learn some shitty Mac programing language.

Lastly, people don't use Yahoo anymore. An average computer user types a URL into google search, jsyk.

  • I use a Mac and I deal am proficient with C, C++, Javascript, PHP, Perl, Python, Frontier, Ruby and Applescript.

Shitty mac programing language? Ha. Shows how much you know.

I got the yahoo thing from a poll showing that about 80% of PC users type the url into the yahoo search bar (or other search engines) thinking that the search engine is the internet and that's how it's done.

You act like the windows is high and mighty, but it's not shit compared to OSX.

  • So you can program -MICROSOFT- C and C++ on MAc? interesting. You learn something new every day.

  • You didnt know that? cocoa is a slight mod of C or something. Im not in the whole programming thing but I know that since I use only mac. Theyre very versatile machines. I use mine for recording, graphic design, web design, and just media. I could use it for programming, but im not too into it. I really believe that viruses are targeted at PC users though because it seems more than 75% of PC users dont know shit about computers, so theyre easy to get personal info from with a virus than others.

  • your are so right i love my mac an mac os x is the perfect OS and mac is the perfect computer. you can do just about anything on a mac and the user experience is better.

  • What happens when I edit the past, 1984 style? All your work goes down the drain. Happy forgetting dumbass troll day.

  • Macs can boot into Windows and play all the latest PC games that way. There are some good games for OSX like COD4, Command and Conquer Red Alert 2, etc. Some PC games like left4dead can be run on OSX even though they were never made for Mac OS using cider.

But if your looking for the latest, coolest games, just boot up into Windows and play them all as if you had a PC.

  • **Troll Alert**

Fuck you, be a good little boy and STFU would ya?

    Thx in advance.

  • Macs were always made of computer parts. They used to have PowerPC processors, which is a different architecture. Now they switched to x86, the same architecture as most PCs (there is the sparc architecture made by Sun Microsystems and the cell architecture used in the PS3).

Hope that made sense. The only difference in hardware was PowerPC processors vs Intel x86 and mac vs pc video cards (mac video cards boot up differently, and faster, which is what apple demanded).

  • Bah, i would've gone with a single 64 bit processor, the bus can only handle 1 at a time. It's more expensive though. I personally like Windows more, though I do admit that Mac is more efficient for doing simpler tasks faster. I like Windows because It shows more information, and you can edit it better. That's only my opinion though.

  • Listen, people... I am a computer IT professional, and I can tell you all that when I deploy Mac OS X, it is easier than deploying XP, Vista, or 7. when I get a Mac up and running, it just works. With windows, I have to update it for a damn week before it's ready. So shut up about what's better. They both work. I prefer Mac. Get over this stupid rivalry. In the real world (with the real men and women) we use both Macs and Windows computers. Our servers are Linux. Shut Up.

  • macs are not safer this is a common misconception. since less people and businesses us mac programmers don't make as many viruses for them so the chance of them getting a virus is lower. but osx can be hacked into so much easier and therefor once a trojan or an other virus of the sort gets on osx it can cause a lot more damage than on windows. i have been using linux for a long time and it has never gotten a virus EVER.

    SO YOUR STATEMENT IS FALSE

  • U don't know shit, STFU.

  • ohh please what do you know your just some apple fan boy fag

  • Let me know when you actually know something about computers, then we will talk, but your argument was straight up out of the 90s, so STFU.

  • well i think i have a pretty good understanding about computers so i disagree with you. i also disagree with the fact that my argument is only relevant in the 90's but i would like you to explain to me why and what makes mac better than pc.

Now i don't think it is irrelevant in current times because it is based on what apple and other companies fo in current days

please respond i am very curious now

  • Disagree? LOL

I know the truth, so I don't care if you disagree. There is no correlation or causal link between how popular OSX is and how many viruses it gets. OSX has had only 4-5 viruses in it's entire history, yet 12% of computers at home are macs.

Compare that to the 150,000+ viruses that threaten Windows.

It only takes a little research to avoid situations like these where you get owned, so google it and consider it and please think before you repeat ridiculous lies. STFU.

  • and you're not being a fanboy for another system? i think you are. Mac's actually outlasted vista in a hacking competition, but you are right, linux was the hardest to crack. too bad the amount of users is miniscule compared to macs and PCs. The way I see it, people that know what they want to do specifically, get a mac if it suits their needs. so they know how to not get a virus. the rest of the people that just want to "surf the google machine" get a PC and are easily manipulated. makes sense

  • no osx was the first to be broken, in just 7 min. users that no what they are doing and understand computers install linux. ppl that what to surf and don't know what they are doing and don't understand the diffs between the os buy macs(and get ripped off. if you want to play games, not be limmited to the amount of hardware you can used and have the most programs to choose from. you buy a windows machine. (unless you build it you also get ripped off, esspecially alianware)

  • Thats not what i heard. where are you getting your information? Also, I find it the other way around. a few years ago, I wouldnt have thought about getting a mac, as they were different and looked more complicated. after actually getting into computer arts and designing things and playing guitar, i realized that a mac was the best option for what I do. so in reality, I knew what i was doing and chose a mac. do you think some computer illiterate grandma will go for a high priced fancy mac? no.

  • I am also a tech and I know that unix is MUCH safer and harder to break into than Winblows. Do your homework before blowing out idiotic statements you know nothing about

  • You know mac osx is built on the UNIX platform. Just like linux. Dumbass

  • You are fucking dumb.

  • My comment wasnt directed at you, its was directed at the Linux fanboy evi0blackeagle. You're not the dumbass. I run a hackintosh as well.

  • Ha, well evi0blackeagle is a little nublet.

  • True, it is.

  • who gives a shit what it's based on, what matters is what it is. they are coded in c or c++ so that means they are the same cuz they have the same language.

in the end where you come from is not what influences who you are( ok maybe a lil). what you do and how you do it is what makes you you. the same goes for computers

  • LMAO! What a ridiculous analogy, if you can't make an intelligent comment GTFO. I don't argue with simple minded Mac users.

  • Would your comment be considered "an intelligent comment"?

NO! So STFU and get back to sucking cock.

  • this comment is not very intelligent

more fanboy if you ask me

  • ya srry about that lol. it is the first thing to my mind but you understand what i'm trying to say.

i was simply trying to say that just because 2 os ar based on unix does not mean they are the same.

  • i'm sorry but i am not arguing which is better because that's a matter of opinion and experience(I have a lot of experience with all these os) and installing windows on a mac doesn't make it faster. the hardware is what decides the speed of the rig and the os just comunicates with it. that is why osx can't posibly be faster than windows or linux on a pc because the hardware is better, more recent AND FASTER!!!

  • srry about all these points but do you get why a mac can't be faster than a pc. Actually a mac can be faster than a pc but only if the hardware on that pc is slower and when i compare macs to pcs i compare the mac with a pc of the same cost.

ohhh and even with the hardware issue set aside windows 7 is actually faster than osx this is not know this from experience but from tests done in labs (snow leopard was compared to windows 7 on a rig with the exact same hardware)

  • if you googled this, it has been proven that windows runs every so slightly faster on a mac machine than a regular old PC. I can provide you with a link to the article if you want, but its not to hard to google yourself if you really think you know so much about computers.

  • the only thing a mac can do that a "pc" can't is run osx leagaly. the hardware in it is not different in the sense you can get that hardware on a "pc". In the end a computer is composed of hardware and software. since the hardware can be replicated, the hardware will be the same. and if you install windows. you no longer have a mac in the general sense.(i refer to mac as a product and not the brand) only motherboards might be diff. the high end motherbords don't work with osx

  • What you said is completely irrelevant to the whole subject. I dont even know what you're trying to prove by this reply. basically, windows runs faster on a mac computer than on a generic PC with the same specs. most likely because bootcamp, the program that allows you to install the windows operating system, has some great feature that speeds up windows more than it would be if installed natively on a computer. It's a proven fact that theres a speed difference in mac hardware's favor.

  • A mac is a Brand of PC that had their own os. it's like of dell made their own os and only computers assembled by dell were legally allowed to use this os.

the point of ^ is to say a mac is a pc. running windows on bootcamp makes it run slower because clock cycles are being used by osx. the only way it can run faster in bootcamp is if not all features are enabled .

Ohh what do you mean by regular pc?

  • You really have no idea what bootcamp is do you? Please, just look it up.

If you had any idea it boots Windows instead of running a virtual machine, you wouldn't make yourself look like a complete dumbass. No, it doesn't slow it down. No, it doesn't remove any features. No, no part of OSX is running AT ALL when Winblows boots on a mac.

    Fucking dumbass.

  • yet you are arguing what is better, as you obviously have focused all your replies/comments on how much you think mac sucks. stop contradicting yourself.

  • A pc is a personel computer. a pc runs an os. Windows, Unix and Linux are compatable with most if not all pc hardware. osx on the other hand runs on very specific hardware. all other os can also use mac hardware unless it is made exclusively for osx(which rarely happens when the hardware is made by other companies, which is often the case because apple does not make major hardware but mostly makes minor hardware lic external cd roms and stuff of that sort) . MAC CANOT USE RECENT(GOOD) HARDWARE

  • Of all of these major os the mac os "Leopold" is the least sucure and unix is the most secure but is said to have more colors than the others but this has never been checked.

    Unix is the most secure.

Windows is the most compatible. and most software is made for windows

Linux is the most customizable. Linux alows it's users to tweak the code of the os itself( thus linux can be tweeked to be faster than all the others and for this reason is the most popular os for servers.

    must continue again

  • first i will adress you saying PCs and linux

Linux is an os based which uses Unix technology.(Linux is basicly free Unix)

Mac uses the Linux or Unix terminal(the terminal is similar to the command prompt in windows os)

Windows is the os that has sold more copies than any other

I need to write the rest because of the character count

  • macs cant be faster cuz they are just pcs with shit hardware

  • i want an i7

  • macs cost just as much as this plus macs r piece o shit in a bowl filled to the brim with piss

  • Right, wee all see through your troll bullshit.

  • so bumb mac is shit and apple doesn't make good products, they just put a secondhand apple on them.

the only reason to build a hackintosh is to show your dumb friends who bought macs that you can make it for cheap

  • Stupid troll, trix are for kids.

  • thats the price of a mac, just alot better.

  • Its illegal anyway you make it or install it, no matter wat u do, but who gives a shit (besides apple)

btw just leopard support all 8gb of ram? Its not 64bit is it? (if it doesnt will snow leopard support all 8gb cus it does have 64bit?)

  • Ya it is Leopard can recognize up to like 32gb of ram

  • Leopard doesn't have 64? Does the name x64 tell you something?

Of course Leopard is 64bit (if you have an intel mac)

  • bro..

what is the model of you motherboard?

  • Asus P5K Pro, it works great with OSX.

  • whicj quad core 6600 6900 i7 which 1?

  • I have a Q6600, a Q6900 would work too, but the i7 isn't supported by Leopard. i7 support should be added by Snow Leopard though, hope this helps.

  • no, the i7 works, but it will come out with unknown processor. ive seen these in forums like insanley mac

  • Thats amazing, I'll look into that on insanely mac.

  • oh c'mon Get a real mac or get a PC with f***ing Vista, do you know that apple earns money with its Computers?!?!

And then some Fags come and trying to install OSX on a PC, This hurts apple you know?

  • Yes, well at least Microsoft doesn't BEAT UP ITS EMPLOYEES SO BADLY THEY COMMIT SUICIDE.

Plus, some people enjoy building computers from scratch and seeing what they can do with it.

  • it doesn't fuckin matter dumb fuck! as long as he used a retail leopard, it's perfectly legal!

  • No its not damn legal, neither with a cracked version of Leo, nor with an retail disc

  • despite the fact that his installation may be illegal, no one really cares! Macs are overpriced, so why not build a PC and install Mac?

  • If Apple would open their OS for installing on every PC, it would get as Buggy as windows because they would have to load unnecessary Drivers on it. And you know, The os Works so good because Hardware and Software are co-ordinated, thats why Mac os runs that well, for example there are not thousands of Mainboard drivers but only the ones for THEIR OWN ones. and macs are not overpriced, go to the Alienware site and create an equivalent pc, i did that and it costs MORE than the equivalent Mac.

  • (the post above was meant to Iildimsum7

  • despite the comparison to Alienware, you can get a PC for way cheaper and get way better performance. you can also build a Hackintosh for way less the price of any Mac and get way better performance. and if Apple were to open their OS for PC hardware, they would find a way to make it compatible with PC hardware just like the hackers do. If you compare the actual hardware Apple uses for their computers, you would realize that they are way overpriced

  • They are overpriced, not EXTREMELY, but overpriced. it might not be legal to download the OS and install it, as thats stealing, but if you go out and buy the damn disk, you can do whatever you want with it as long as its for personal use only. Apple isnt going to sue you for installing it on a PC, theyre not going to even try to track people down. If they did, then they'd also be trying to sue people for jailbreaking their ipods. once you own it, its yours to do whatever, as long as its fair.

  • Yeah, but I hate those people who install it on PC's whit any shit hardware (not meant to the one who posted the vid!) and then swear on OSX because they get kernel panics, errors and so on.

So, they're NOT going to sue you but YOU are responsive for it to work, don't blame the OS when it's not working that good on your PC. That is my point of view.

  • BUY A REAL MAC

  • what $1200, the real mac cost $1199

  • Does your motherboard accept any higher end processors? I undestand everything else, but I'm still shaky on matching mobo's to processors. I'm looking at the same, with the Q9550 instead.

  • Are you on windows?

  • Part 2

a good core i7 920 setup can easily be put together for 800 euros (incl. 6gb Ram, 1TB, Geforce GT250 or Radeon 4879, decent mobo). it blasts any imac or mac minis performance and costs less (compared). Thats where Apple should close the gap with a non workstation desktop...

  • Were you able to install your Hackintosh using the retail discs?

  • The song is from the band called Apocalyptica - its on the Cult CD, but not sure which one it is.

The reason for building a Hackintosh based on core i7 (e.g. 920) versus buying an Imac or mac mini is price.

Imac and mac mini are based on mobile systems - so you get the less heat intensive mobile cpus (max core 2 duo 3ghz) or the more expensive mac pros. starting at 2200€ without a screen.

    ...

  • WTF, the iMac costs 1199! its the same thing!

  • seriously, it just doesn't have the 8gb of ram, but a much higher processor speed, and besides that imo macs look much better than pcs

  • 8GB Ram, better Graphics card, QUAD cores vs DUAL cores, and customizablility. You can't just pop the processor out on you iMac one day and get a better one, but with this hackintosh, you can.

  • not gonna be as stable. if you want the highest performance just get a mac pro

  • It'll be just as if not more stables as a mac pro, and a few thousand dollars cheaper too.

  • ehhh still not gonna be the same as a mac pro even if it is all that you claim it is

  • No, not quite, but for people who can't splurge the $4,000 for a Mac Pro, this is a brilliant alternative.

  • mhm hackintosh's can be nice at times

  • Windows XP is the best

  • roflrofl os x pwns all windows

  • What song is this?

  • mac is not best os ever,

    i think u 4got bout ubuntu

  • i agree :)

  • ubuntus good.. and 1 can consider it the best only after u bring in the cost factor.. if it werent free it would be a very different story.. ubuntu 9.04 is full of bugs.. and 8.4 didnt work well with my system too.. refused to show anything but a black screen after 1 week..

  • on mine 8.4 and 8.10 worked smoothly, but 9.04 just came out so its obviously goin 2 be a bit buggy

  • 9.04 is working great for me

  • u dont need 2 go insultin ppls moms all da time, mayb tats y ppl dont like u

  • really do u no wat da song is called?

  • song?

  • Really nice video!

P.S. You spelt coming wrong :-P

  • awesome video but sadly. my hardware isn't supported :(

  • hey bud i have a mcp65 ethernet i got the os to run fully on my PC but cant get that stinking ethernet to work i want to just throw away vista and go fully mac os already lol

  • go 4 it all -by yves on #

  • the battle has just started...

  • Mac OS X doesn't win Vista in every way. They lose in compatibility with software XD

  • ROFL Vista isn't compatible with a lot of XP software, Vista definitely sucks when it comes to software compatibility because it isn't backwards compatible.

  • If you are talking about how much software is available for each OS then Windows wins, but OSX comes with a lot of built in features that Windows needs 3rd party apps for, like zip files, dmg, iso, etc. OSX has all that built in, plus multiple desktops w/o 3rd party apps, it comes with an AIM messenger, iLife, Quicktime, all things u have to get 3rd party apps for - if you use Windows.

  • actually no, mac can run vista and xp so they do have compatibility.

  • ther was a war, and i didn't get to fight, shit. the resoloution is simple:

macs: good for audio and video

    pcs: good for everything else

  • Quite the opposite.

    Windows: Good for games

Mac OS X: Good for everything else

    Linux: Great for servers

  • be real here pc's do most things right, media editing is where a mac shines, windows shines everywhere else.

btw thanks for reminding me of linux, your right it's great for servers.

  • What if you want a file server, a web server? Windows does not shine in that department.

Internet browsers? IE is OK but hated by every web developer.

Linux is even better when it comes to media centers.

Linux has OpenOffice, OSX has pages, numbers, and MS Office, and Windows has MS Office. All equivalent there.

What does windows excel in other than video games?

You say it shines for everything else, like what?

  • Many ways to build that hackintosh I actually have a nice one working Intel DG31PR and Core2Duo 2.8 Ghz, 4 GB RAM ddr800 , 1TB HDD...This is so easy noy . before you had to make your drivers now , any rookie can do this..I dont know if this is good or bad.

  • does osx86 have core i7 support with decent motherboards? getting an average motherboard just for osx86 seems stupid to me.

  • Snow Leopard will, but the version of Leopard that is out right now doesn't have support for core i7s.

The new Mac Pro has an intel Xeon processor that has hyperthreading, so it is basically a core i7, but technically it is not so that it is compatible with Leopard.

Apple could have support for the i7s now if that was their goal, but they are hard at work making Snow Leopard and adding core i7 support to that.

  • around the end of the year I guess they will be having fbdimm which seems nice for mac pro users, but I wonder is going to support quad channeling better, because most get triple channel because I guess its more optimized for the i7 memory controller?

  • The old mac pro has FB DIMMS, osx86 should work with FB RAM.

Snow Leopard will handle RAM a little better too, the Macbook Pro has DDR3 RAM with integrated graphics sharing the RAM with the graphics card, so it would be great if Snow Leopard would be able to handle all of it in an efficient way.

  • I was talking about new core i7 xeons later this year, they have fb dimm support unlike the gainstown xeons in the new mac pros with only ecc ram.

  • Oh, very cool. Didn't get that from the first comment.

Apple is a little behind with the whole core i7 thing, they have been focusing too hard on the iPhone in my opinion, announced the 3.0 SDK for the iPhones today I think.

  • I've read a lot of guides, and I tried installing myself but whatever kernel I use I get a kernel panic or something. It installs fine, but when I boot into Mac it doesn't work. People seem to be saying I need to mod my BIOS, do you know why?

  • What kind of processor do you have?

  • Intel Core 2 Q9400. My motherboard is an Asus P5Q Pro.

  • And what distribution are you using? Kalyway?

  • Your motherboard has a p45 chipset, which is hard to get OSX86 working with. You could try kalyway, and if you can't boot, then you need to alter your bootloader.

Google "OSX86 on intel p45 chipset"

You could also look for a boot 132 CD that works with p45 chipsets. Google for it.

  • Thanks for the response. I've tried both Kalyway and iAtkos v5i and both fail with all the installed kernels and bootloaders. I'll google that boot cd, thanks.

  • Did the boot 132 cd help you at all?

  • Unfortunately not. I however tried Leo4All, and It's weird because I can boot into it in VMware, but when I boot normally it freezes at some buffer count or something?

  • Have you tried booting up with the cpu=1 kernel flag?

  • Yeah i've tried loads of different combinations of -v -x -f cpu=1. I have a feeling it's to do with ACPI on my chipset from what I've read on forums. I have applied the fix on leo4all and removed firewire drivers like some said to do, but that only got it working in vmware.

  • That really sucks man, but I have heard there is some way to get it working.

  • You say OS X is better than Vista. But why is it that Windows dominates the computer market? It is more popular.

How to build a hackintosh. The answer: Buy a PC.

  • Logical fallacy, look it up. If freeing black people is so much better than having them as slaves, why is it that most black men are slaves (in the 1700s)?

  • That is a personal preference, not factual evidence. Failure is your favorite option.

  • Its all in the research. I knew before I ordered the parts that it was all going to work with OSX. I downloaded 2 drivers, one for audio and another for my graphics card. The drivers were recommended to me by OSX86Tools, it looked through my hardware and told me what I needed. After that I updated to 10.5.6 using software update.

So its not exactly a cobbled PC. It works and performs just as well as a Mac would. I installed OSX off the retail Leopard DVD, so the iDeneb thing isn't an issue.
