In Matthew, chapter 9, verse 6, Jesus tells us that He was given authority on earth to forgive sins. And then Scripture proceeds to tell us, in verse 8, that this authority was given to "men"...plural.

James 5:16 is referring to the church communities to confess their sin publically as part of your repentance but not that doing this will provide salvation.

In Matthew, chapter 9, verse 6, Jesus tells us that He was given authority on earth to forgive sins. And then Scripture proceeds to tell us, in verse 8, that this authority was given to "men"...plural.

In other words, he says if your brother wrongs you then you are to forgive them. But atonement may only be made by the blood of the lamb, for ANY sin.
This atonement via the blood of the lamb, or Jesus blood, is repeated throughout the entire old and new Testaments over 500 times in many places and contexts.

@fintaneh First of all, Roman Catholicism is not an organization, it is the church established by Jesus Himself in the world! I am proud to be associated with it. As St. Augustine said the church is a mixted body of holy and sinners. No one is perfect, however, the faith is independant of what has happened. We will always be attacked the most but most of the other protestant churches have done horrible things. Look at the facts and you will learn.

However all those who partake in that ideology are members of the Catholic church which is most certainly an orginisation, however for convenience i shall call it, a 'body' in the words of Agustine. It was founded by St. Paul, not by Jesus. That body is responsible for the deaths of millions of people both directly and indirectly. Of course there are other sources of evil, but that doesn't mean that the Catholic..

It has proved thoroughly that it is not the Church of Christ. If you think it is a proof when somebody builds a house on sb. tomb then you should also believe that Jesus is no Catholic, because his tomb is not in Rome. If you really read the Bible you will find out that the Bible says something else than the Catholic Ch.

As you can see, Christ clearly says AND UPON YOU PETER * meaning Rock* i will build my Church. Peter was crucified and was buried on Vatican Hill. The Romans Gave him a simple Stone grave. But this is all not necessary if you compare the teachings of the Bible with the teachings of the Roman church. . But to understand or believe this, is a question of faith and biblical knowledge, empowered by the Holy Spitrit. The Roman Catholic is a man made religion with other inspiration. It satisfies religious desires, but not God.

They led a different life and taught a different message than Peter or Paul. The Catholic church has no right to claim to be founded on Peter or Christ because they are far distant from the origin. You could also say Muhammad is a Christian and you would have no more mistaken. Catholics belie themselves.
