The reason this was a bad call without a doubt is that the official who made the call, Marc Davis, was at the top of the key when the play occurred. With that being the case, there is no way, based on the position of the players, that he could see the position of Bogut's feet. Therefore, how else could he have made a decisive call unless he just used the circumstance, which is Kobe made an exciting play, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt instead of making sure I make the correct call.

They couldve called a charge. That does not mean the call was bogus. His feet were not entirely set and he attempts to draw the foul by flopping. The officials have been distaining the flop and rightly so. I will say that was not the most egregious flop I have ever seen but it was a flop. The traveling aspect is just stupid. It was either a charge or a block. Perhaps they should not have given him the continuation with the block call. All this about a trivial play in a trivial game is amazing.

But if it was a blocking foul, the shot shouldn't have counted b/c kobe moved couple more steps afterward to get the shot off. I'm happy Lakers won but this was a bad game. basically with Kobe, Lebron, D-Wade & the few others in that neighborhood all you can really do is try not to let it be close deny them the ball and pray. and with Gasol's passing ability it's even harder to keep the ball out of Kobe's hands. it was clearly a charge without a doubt but tht doesnt change the fact tht the bucks had a 6 points lead with 1:25 to go and they could not score. As a fan of the game I cringe when B Roy gets the benefit of a call. I hate that Roy screams every time he gets breathed on in the lane. But as B Roy said in an interview once "I've learned that to get calls you have to act" (Those aren't his exact words but that's what he meant).

You shouldn't have to act. If the refs did their job right every player would be treated fairly. But that's not the case.
