would be easier if u deal with the ones place first...on the last one... 97x89=.... 7x9=63 write down the 3 and then carry 6, then 9x9+7x8=137+6=143 then write down the 3 and carry 14 and now u have 33... the last step is 8x9=72, then just add 14 to 72 and ur answer is 8633....get the idea?
or u could do 97+3=100, 89+11=100 so you can do either 97-11=86 or 89-3=86... and then just multiply 3 by 11 which is 33... ur answer is 8633.... same!!
