in so many cases the govmt steps in and senslessly removes children from their homes. with this kid's case there's not just neglect going on, they should call it reckless endangerment. how is supplying the food thats destroying this child any different than supplying cocaine or some other lethal drug? those parents should not just lose that child but they should serve time for their crime

Hospital emergency rooms are required by US federal law to give emergency care, but that only means you are guaranteed enough medical care to stabilize your condition and keep you alive. If you need an organ transplant or reconstructive surgery, you're out of luck unless you can pay for it.

How is the government spending tax money on people with heart problems? Unless you're over 65 and destitute, you have to pay for your own medical problems in this country, either through a private insurer or out of your own pocket.

To be honest, the death of a child has little effect on my life. I have no kids, but if I did I would accept responsibility for that child. Why is this country so indifferent to the suffering of children around the world, but we go ape sh!t over kids in this country. The death of an innocent child in this country affects the parents most of all. Let stupid parents learn the hard way, that is life.

I would like to propose a compromise in this people with children vs. people with no children debate

To those, such as myself, who want to have kids, breed responsibly, try to keep the numbers low, and raise the kids well.

To those with no kids, that's your choice. Keep doing what you're doing.

To both sides, stop acting so morally fucking superior to one another. Neither is better, happier, less selfish, etc. There's enough hatred in the world without schmucks like that adding to it.

I love the comparison of "don't tell me not to smoke if you won't tell others not to eat". This country is about personal responsibility. If you want to eat yourself to death then you have every right to, but if you're smoking in public places then you're endangering the health of OTHERS. Your behavior is protected so long as it is not detrimental to others, because their right to protect their body is greater then your right to harm yours.
