  • It also stand for SPEED... and SKY... and SPACESHIP... and...

    (Spaceship fires)

    SHIT!!!

  • Yes, I WOULD say "S" is a very important letter. But not nearly as important as "W"

  • sell out? well duh superman is a huge brand name.

  • "S"ellout

  • This was made for Sesame Street. Lenny Weinrib voiced Superman because Bud Collyer had passed away.

  • "S"eizure after "S"taring at the "S" everytime

  • I remember this when I was a kid. If this were made for a kids show for this day and age, superman would say. S is for sex.

  • This was shown on seseme street on Nyc in the 70's to help kids understand the letter S.

  • S also stands for Stupid!

  • AND SAILBOAT

  • and Sea, and Sailboat, and Sinking, and Save, and Sand, and SHIT HOW DO WE GET OUR BOAT OUT OF THE FUCKING DESERT?!

  • I guess it's true: if a character stays around long enough they DO end up doing EVERYTHING. :)

  • S ... for Sloppy Seconds!

  • And for "S"o gonna whoop your ass for shooting that alien ray beam at me.

  • "S"hit

  • This was on sesame street when I was a kid...the letter S!

  • "S" also stands for "Stupid" lol

  • I remember seeing this on The Electric Company.

  • Remember Sesame Street? This is one of their featured letters on the letter 'S'. If you're a fan of Sesame Street , then you might have caught up this segment in one of their featured letters there.

  • the new adventures of suerman theme

  • "S"ucks

  • @videoguy604 no

  • It was probably made for a PBS children's show; like "S"esame "S"treet???? They have cute cartoons that teach math & "S"pelling. And because their is NO commercial endorsement, it probably was made for PB"S"

  • it was used on an educational kids show

  • WTF...

  • It was on Sesame street. DC comics at the time had an ad promoting the new show. Filmation also provided animation teaching kids about the alphabet with Batman and Jughead.

  • S also stands for Super Shizzle!

  • The animation and music are from the Filmation cartoons- which predate Sesame Street.

  • damn he toss the shit outta that spaceship O_O

  • that's not a commercial you idiot That was from sesame streat

  • There's only one way to describe this commercial, and it begins with S! ..........Strange.

  • It's gotta be Sesame Street.

  • @yowzephyr It is. Haven't seen that in a long time.

  • Aohw, my head! So many S's :O...

  • And "S"tupid!!!

  • "So the next time you think of 'Superman', think of the letter S. It's-"

...IT'S WHAT? TELL ME WHAT IT IS, SUPERMAN!

  • @piccorotto When the ending was cut off, Superman actually said "It's my favorite." I remember that from the Sesame Street appearance.

When that sailboat was "sinking" (taking on water amidst the rocks at least), he forgot to say "shoals".

  • Well.......at least I learned something.

  • And Sexual Congress

  • and stuied

  • Sex?

  • Then Game Show host, Bud Collyer had already died in 1969 and they had to recast the Filmation him with a different voice actor. Collyer was the voice of the radio adventures and Filmation's 1966 Superman Saturday morning series, which also included several other famous radio show voices. See Wikipedia "Bud_Collyer"

  • 61 people liked this video. 1 didn't -- I'm guessing it was Lex Luthor.

  • viva superman

  • and Shit

  • Aww, I wish the end didn't come off. He was making his point!

  • I love the paint job on the spaceship. You don't see art like that in today's cartoons.

  • S also stands for Silly, like this animated Superman!

  • S also stands for spiderman, didn't think about that one did u Clarke

  • what is he selling

  • Yeah...it was used for Sesame Street back in the 70's to promote the letter "s".

  • This also stands for stupid, patronizing PBS S-!

  • S is for: Shit Sex Scrotum Sperm Slut Skeet Skank Shrooms S&M
  • "S" is also for Spazz

  • yep. i remember this one. totally from "sesame street". not a commercial

  • How is this any weirder than anything else? lol

  • This was made for Sesame street back in the early 70's. They used ot show it all the time.

  • S also stands for Skanque ! and Scrotem! and Screw! and Sperm! and Swank! and Slut! and Sodomy! and Sex (anal)! So when you think about Superman, also think about those words!

  • @BisonSauvage Lol !..it also stands for SLUNT...which is a cross between a SLUT and aC**T ! So...Batfans- when you think of the letter "s" think about being a SLUNT !

  • @superbruce "Slunt"! I like it. Better than "slore."

  • OK, its NOT a commercial! This is a segment on the letter 'S' produced by Filmation in 1968 for the 1st season of Sesame Street (1968-1969). Filmation was under contract by NPP (National Periodical Publications, Inc) aka DC Comics until 1972. The final Filmation Superman appeared on Filmation's "The Brady Kids", as did the ONLY Filmation app. of Wonder Woman. In 1973 Batman & Robin appeared on "The Scooby-Doo Movies" from Hanna-Barbera which led to The Super Friends.

  • Sex

    Scrote

    Shitass

    Shiz

and so many other, just for kids.. =) !!!

  • My God, I remember this short from when I was a kid.

  • S also stands for STD's, in particular syphilis. Clark Kent has Suffered for Scratching and Sores on his Scrotum.

  • Was superman high when he did this, or did he hit his head on a bus or plane or something?

  • S also stands for scrotum sucking slime slurping stupid slut. And she sells seashell shirts so slowly she stopped.

S is a good letter, like B but different.

  • holy crap, I remember this!!!

  • Seasame Street Back in the day... we got the good stuff, like spiderman on Electric Company

  • What was the point in this commercial?

  • @pilli10 Wasn't a commercial. What this is a PSA made by Filmation for Seasme Street. The point of it was to teach children about the letter "S". In your case "s" stands for stupid as you could have read all the other reader comments that already answered this question.

  • @srb9 Well there are alot of comments and I have better things to do than just go through them all.

  • it's what, what, damn who ever edited this video we'll never know ><

  • "Next time you think of Superman, think of the letter 'S'. It's-" What? What was he gonna say at the end?!!

  • @FiendsInRedSatin1 How about "SUPER" ? ; )

  • @FiendsInRedSatin1 "... The 19th letter of the alphabet!"

  • Glad to see that so many people know that this wasn't actually a commercial, but a Sesame Street segment. That's the Filmation "Super Friends"/JLA Superman in this bit.

  • "S" for SATANIC.

  • He forgot SEX

  • S also stands for stupid... but i love you superman so i give you props!!!!!!!!

  • @balidoria Lex Luthor actually used that line in an episode of the SuperFriends.

  • It's a PSA for the letter "S". Just in case you forgot how important and powerful that letter can be! I mean, it's a hell of a lot more important than "X" or "Z". Useless bastards.

  • My God I remember this....God I'm old...

  • Comment removed

  • yes, sesame street. when it first went on the air superman and batman were regulars in spots like these.

  • Well regardless that it came from the first season , it was repeated often throughout the early to mid 70's. Cause that's when I used to see it. Thank you Filmation!

  • This was not made in 1973.

It was made in 1969 and shown the first week Sesame Street premiered.

  • lolz this was funny it was completly random like: s for sail boat s for sinking

s is for suck my dick sesame street

  • Yeah I remember seeing this on Sesame Street. 1st time I saw Superman!

  • wtf

  • "S" also stands for SHITHEAD

  • advertisment for the letter s?

  • you'll never see spiderman teach kids how to spell...

  • Is that Bud Collier doing his voice? Bud originated Superman on radio, played him in the Fleischer shorts and in the Filmation episodes.

  • That wasn't a commercial, it's an educated segment from Sesame Street.

There's your answer and you're welcome.

    -R78

  • This was a short skit shown on Sesame Street using Filmation's Superman. He of course showing words with the letter S. Superman ran from 1966 to 1968.

  • This is an early short from Sesame Street, when it first aired. It was a tie in to the Saturday morning Superman cartoon that aired during the late 60's into the 70's

  • Whoa!! I think I remember this... but I suspect it was from The Electric Company, not Sesame Street. I remember they had Spiderman skits too.

  • i don't know... i remember Spiderman and Letterman.

  • @glasscitadel12

    That's calling Elecricity Company.

  • @gimbragreen yeah, did you know that there's a new Electric Company? PBS STUFF..

  • @glasscitadel12

Well, I am too old and I am no longer to watch Electric Company any more this year.

  • @grimbragreen LOA

  • @glasscitadel12 LOL!!!

  • @grimbragreen LOL, you got me on the floor.

  • Superman: and remember kids...there are plenty of other words that start with the letter "S"...such as that "Sexy" "Skank" over there. Too bad that she is hanging all over that "Shithead"...I am in the mood for a "Screw", & she appears to be quite a "Slut". Well Superman doesnt give up that easy! I'll just use my "Super" "Speed" to whisper in her hear that he has an "STD". Praise "Satan's Scrotum"!! It worked!!!By the end of the night Superman will be getting "Sucked-off", kids! "Sweet!"

  • NICE

  • Well, thank god we have Superman around to tell us these important things...

  • I was waiting for him to say... the best S word.

  • This was from Sesame Street.

  • WHAT THE FUCK!!! lolololololololol this is so lame. he coul've said the fucking whole dictionary... loved it though, so random

  • Came here after this was sent to me. The comments do NOT disappoint.....

Sure, Superman, you Saved that Ship by Schlepping it onto the Sand. Surely you caused Motion Sickness by Scooping up the Sailboat & Slinging it to Shore. You Sure you have LawSuit InSurance to Stop you from being Sued ? They'll Slander you, Supes, Surely as the Sun rises & Sets.

  • "And SINKING !" lmfao!

  • .....i guess hes still delirious from all the kryptonite exposure....

  • sesame street

    i remember

this was rad - had a great energy

    with great voiceover

  • Looks more like it came from Sesame Street...the PRE-ELMO era. (I REALLY thought that the show went down the crapper when they introduced that God-damned red Muppet as a moneymaking tool when all the PBS stations couldn't raise enough funds through those stupid Pledge drives).

  • I think you're right. It was from Sesame Street. WOW, what memories.

  • S is also for "Stranded" and "Starvation" and "Slowly" as in "Slowly dying of dehydration"... because S also stands for "Saltwater", and "Scurvy".

I doubt the people on the Sailboat will have to worry too much though, because S also stands for "Stingray" and "Shark" and of course, S stands for "Schizophrenia" and "Stabbing" and "Strangle", and for your "Skull" being "Smashed" by a "Stone".

  • Mr .T should appear at the end and hit saying "Shut Up Fool !".

  • Damn, he sure balanced that Sailboat on the Sand! It's Sure Standing Straight!

  • Filmations made this for Sesame Street while they were still doing their series. They also did three Batman cartoons for the show as well.

  • the moar you know

  • Think of shit, syphillis, sodomy, smegma, slime, slugs, shotgun, spam, sperm.....

  • Damn, you took all my ideas for words that start with the letter "s"

  • And SHUT UP!!! >:)

  • Wow, i am always amazed the at the level of hostility and vulgar comments even the most innocent and harmless of videos attracts.

This was definitely from Sesame Street. I recall it clearly because I remember being surprised that a DC hero was being shown on the program.

  • This video came from Sesame Street (can you believe it?) in the early seventies. I remember it when in early grade school.

  • Yeah, because I have it on the Old School Vol. 1 DVD set.

  • S also stands for Sixties, not Seventies.

  • This was made by Filmation for Sesame Street, back in 1973... They also made two Batman related shorts for Sesame Street, as well...

  • @AceTheBathound As well as a Jughead Jones.

  • @MoonBurgle Really? What did Jughead say, for them?

  • @AceTheBathound oh wow thank you for telling me this, I thought it came from the electric company all this time. Well I was on the right track and it was a PBS children's show they played after each other and the last time I saw it I must have been 5 yrs old, 32 now

  • @AceTheBathound : are you SURE that's filmation? it doesn't seem to be their design style...

  • @elf242 I'm pretty sure... That was made back in the Late 1960's-Early 1970's... Filmation was still making animations like those, back then... If not the Seventies, the late Sixties for sure, because that's when Filmation was still making that style...

  • @elf242 It's Filmation. It's just redubbed from their 60s Superman series.

  • think of the letter S!!.. a very important letter!!

  • no no, sesame street is correct. It was on there a couple times as I recall...

  • And Slut!

  • omg! LOL!!!

  • I was going to say electric company. But Sesame Street is good. too.

  • Yep! It was on Sesame Street- I got all excited when they ran it ...

  • I swear I've seen that on Sesame Street...or maybe Electric Company...one of those shows

  • Your first response is correct, Sesme Street. Filmation did a Batman one for them too.
