Shimano has doubled the pick-up speed of its freehub for XTR and it's the fastest on test. it's also the quietest with very low seal friction, so the chain doesn't sag whejn you back-pedal slightly to set up for a tight corner.

You should think of getting a chris king rear hub. The shimano xtr one is junk compared to the 72 point engagement of the king. I have one on my cannondale and it was worth every penny.

XTR is one of the best bicycle mass production components on market.
If you want better quality, maybe cost you four times a brand new XTR.
