  • That takes me back! BAM and i'm 13 again! Loved that tune. TV is rubbish theese days.

  • The used to be time slot has now been taken over by the One Show.

  • Even before the programme had started, this theme tune made me desperate for a holiday in the sun. Great track.

  • Wow! I loved watching this and Wish you were here...?!!!!!

  • hello does anyone know what day and time this used to be on ?

  • @latinolatif it was monday and around seven like florgeysteve said.

  • Used to love that programme, the theme tune just took me back 10-15 year, superb. Wish they had kept it going, Craig Doyle was/is great too.

  • I knew this was Hardcastle even back in the day, his style is unmistakable

  • I prefer this version to the actual Hardcastle (Jazzmasters) track 'Voyager' wish he'd released it as a single in it's own right.

  • Wow... I was on this show when I was 13. They came to the camp site my family was staying at and filmed us for about 18 hours :D

  • id love to see more of the Titles to Holiday

  • I used to like watching these but its just rubbish on TV now. Im only 16 but still.

  • wow, and thats coming from a 16 year old, good on you, i miss alot of the old TV programmes, back wen it werent shite Reality TV all the time as it is now, tho i still miss Jill Dando

  • Graham, I reacted the same....Wow...from a 16 year old saying that....restores my faith....Bring back all these Programmes, I say.

  • What an awful shame what happened to poor Gill Dando! She was unique compared to TV presenters of today! There was something very warm and loving about her! I think someone you could relate too! Thats why she was so successful! RIP Gill! Thanx for many fond 80's and 90's memories!!! XXX

  • This used to make me cry when I was a kid!! No idea why looking back :-S

  • wow this takes me back to the 90s when i was in school. You dont get holiday programmes like this anymorejust ones about people buying property abroad.... anyone remember wish you were here??

    God Bless You Gill x

  • Yes I remember ''Wish you were here'' - That was a great programme too! - I also used to watch it when younger... The music was great too! :)

  • may god be with you jill dando.

  • This clip brings back so many memories, I used to watch this when I was younger on BBC1 - I think I cryed when Jill was killed. Such a shame, she was such a great person and its a waste. I love this music, I have it on a chill out c.d - Its a great tune. RIP Jill

  • The track name, I believe is 'The Voyager' by Paul Hardcastle... I met Jill some years back in the departure lounge at Heathrow - one of BBC's best presenters - her grace and charm is sadly missed!

  • Thanks Patudo01 you have got it spot on. I ordered the CD from the US just for that tune.

    Cheers Mate

  • Would it be too much trouble to put it up on Youtube - please? Many thanks, P..

  • In case you don't already know, lucky54man has already uploaded a version of it from the '1983-2003' album.

I don't know if that version is the original or a remix (the original was made in 1989 apparently), but there's also another version (on the first Jazzmasters album) recorded with vocals in 1991 and it's called 'See You In July' if you're interested.

This video brings back good memories, that's for sure. :)

  • Thank you for the info. I always thought this tune was uniquely belonged to BBCs.

  • havnt heard this tune for years!! brings back memories! dnt get holiday programmes any more just places to buy property abroad!

  • i heard its by gordon giltrap but been unable to get the name of it. not to be confused with earlier theme tunes he also did for the holiday show like 'heartsong'. thanx 4 posting!

  • Fabulous couldnt agree more with most of the posters. Does anyone know the name of this track and where you can get hold of it.

  • A lovely Woman and a personality that lit up your living room, I always used to watch her, damn waste/ atrocity what happened to her, cops always take easy option to 'get a pinch' shame on them, trail gone stone cold now.

  • Great theme tune and Jill was a brilliant presenter. I hope they find the real killers as no one deserves to die in cold blood like she did.

Justice for Jill, may she rest in peace

  • well said

  • I love this tune. Been looking for this for ages. Thanks to the person who post it!

  • Thanks for posting this tribute.

Jill was a great broadcaster & was very much loved by colleagues and the viewing public alike. It's totally inconceivable why anyone could have wanted to harm her. It makes no sense at all !!

  • I never thought I'd see this again after Jill's tragic demise. but thanks to youtube and the person who posted it, I can!

  • Ah yes, Tuesday's at 7pm before EastEnders circa 1995. It could be said Jill was the BBC's Natasha Kaplinsky of the 90s. Jill had far more class and pure talent however and is much missed.

  • They scrapped this tune bout 2000 I think.

  • A brilliant programme fronted by such a talented presenter much missed RIP Jill

  • Wow, I've been looking for this tune for such a long time. The holiday programma was a great show, a joy to watch and my personal inspiriation. Such a shame Jill's life ended so quickly, but I remember her as the beautiful, intelligent, eloquent and lovely co-host. Thanks Jill!

  • i love this theme thank you for posting. i have not heaard this since it was Jill's memorial service where they played a collection of different tv assocated with the popular tv presenter.

    RIP Jill, Love James XXX
