Ah fuck it, I'm glad Drive brought in all these people, maybe more artist will start messing with the 80's sound again. And it'll be cool. Or at least it will until lady gaga catches on. Besides, it was a perfect movie.
@NoiseHero drive didnt brought anything. most of these artists were pretty "famous" in the underground scene. drive just showed a few more people what has been done lately in this electronica genre.
@snowdjagha Yes, I've been listening to artists like this for a while, I'm just saying the viewcount on these vids were pretty weak before that movie punched a lot of hipsters in the balls. But if a bunch of people are listening to kavinsky and college and shit out of nowhere because of that movie, they'll quickly find similar artists. Maybe giving people more incentive to continue with this style, instead of it not getting anywhere and it withers away slowly like the 8-bit scene.
@NoiseHero yeah i think youre right. in most of these videos of the so called "new disco" there are tons of comments refering "Drive" and honestly i'm happy that happened. but i would be happier if people were listening to this kind of music not because of some film (which is a a GREAT one, don't get me wrong!)
anyway, i love this music genre and while i was watching the film and Kavinsky song started playing my jaw just dropped because i had already listened to it.
@herrdoktor1985 You don't understand his comment... "These people" - People who are watching and listening this. He says, that movie - DRIVE - is making this type of music more popular and bringing "these people". He want more artists to make music, which sounds like the music from the 80's...
What is everyone talking about? This was on Drive? I just stumbled upon this.

@Aelkamal The Outrunners, Kavinsky, Keenhouse, Tesla Boy, Electric Youth, The Swiss...
the best way to find more alike artists is to search by their labels, like Valerie Collective, Record Makers, etc.
