I agree with thevoiceofnow this is as near to the original as anyone could get, probably even JMJ, which is why the extended bit was good to hear. I hope you do not mind I downloaded this as a wav file using DVDsoft and I have listened to it on my Ipod many times..great stuff.
This is absolutely superb. I love analog. I'm a guitarist, and all my pedals are analog because they're so much warmer than digital. You have done a brilliant version of Oxygene. It's fantastic! Good work! :-)
great song. really good cover. beautiful sounding gear. awesome. saving up for my own analog gear to add to my analog/digital synth studio. got more digital than analog synth. and its JUST NOT RIGHT :)
I salute you for what is so much more than 'just' a cover. You expanded on the original in a way that is highly creative yet perfectly aligned with the overall atmosphere of the original. Listening to your rendition of this track is like entering an alternative reality that is close to, yet different from ours.
Having listened to his complete original album and listened to various covers on Youtube, I have to say, your's is miles ahead of the rest, I could have easily mistaken it for the original! As others say it's a shame we couldn't see you play all the instruments! Possibly if you ever feel like re-doing it, you could multi-track using video! i.e. you record yourself playing each part and then put the video parts together to make the final track! Look at pbpproduction's channel for examples
@AnalogAudio1 - I knew they weren't M&Ms because of a few non-M&M colors (pink?), but they looked like them at first glance and that's what made me crave them. Awesome equipment you have there, BTW! I used to own a Moog Prodigy, a Moog Memorymoog Plus and a Jupiter-6 way back before the techno scene made them super-valuable and I sold them off. Now my only analog is an AKAI AX80...but I want more knobs/sliders (and it has no glide or OSC sync). :-(
Is there anywhere on the internet to read about the gear used in different synth songs? For example if i wish to know what Ryan Paris used in "Dolce vita"? :D
great job ! One question: i also have a Korg Minipops 7, but for this rythm there is still the percussions sounds we did not hear in Oxygene 4. Do you filtering the box to remove those sounds, or something else maybe ?? You see what i mean ?
One other thing: for original Eminent strings, i think there is also a bit of flanger (electric mistress) togethere with the Small Stone...
@ZiGouji Thanks! Of course, the sound of the Minipops was treated with a noise gate and eq. Like JMJ did. For my ears, there is no flanger on the Eminent.
Very well done, only the sound from 1:36 on hurts in my ears because its to sharp an thin. Instead of the Micromoog with Electric Mistress i would recommend to use a Korg DSS-1 which has additive synthesis + analog filters like the RMI.

@AnalogAudio1 this is spot on! great job but the only thing that is slightly off is that the part with the electric mistress and the micromoog is that its too strong but other than that, its PERFECT.
Man! That's very impressive work you did, especially when compared to JMJ Oxygene anniversary concerts and DVD "Oxygene: Live in your living room". Hats off!

Wonderful Cover! I also loved how you made it into a extended version. It's very clear that it's indeed necessary to use the original analog synths to get this sound! The only sound that nobody seems to be able to emulate is the RMI sound (1:36). I think that sound is unique to the RMI and can't be emulated on anything else. But you where closer that anything I've heard before!
Great work. I like how you've incorporated some of the new lead notes that appear in the chorus sections, like in the new 30th anniversary version. Check out

Mensch!!

This is without a doubt the best Oxygene IV cover I have heard in a very long time, and I have heard a lot of covers.
It's amazingly detailed, had you slapped some footage of Jean Michel Jarre, I would have been fooled as to him playing, excellent job! :D

Great work. I like how you've incorporated some of the new lead notes that appear in the chorus sections, like in the new 30th anniversary version. Check out
