For those of you who say " I love switchfoot even though I am not a Christian", Have you ever considered becoming a Christian? I mean of course you don't have to, but it's just a suggestion, especially if you listen to their music, really listen to the words, I know that as a Christian it is our job to take as many people to heaven with us as possible. Just think about, or even better... pray about. (:

@QueenHydra [Really late response] Christianity IS all about life & love, but it's not a universal all-inclusive message. The bottom line of Christianity is the cross. Everyone born on this planet needs God's forgiveness. Jesus out of love paid the ultimate price- he died in our place to take the punishment for our wrong-doing.Then he rose from the dead conquering death, and he gives eternal life to all who will follow him. Everyone is invited, but he is the only way to life,it's not our effort.

Music can never be christian. Lyrics can. Switchfoot's lyrics are never directly christian, like pure worship songs are, but since the guys are christian and God is the most important thing for them, and since He affects their whole lifes, their lyrics always has that dimension in them somewhere.

all 5 of the guys are christian, but they dont want to be labeled as part of the christian genre because that means that their audience will be mostly christian, and they want to give their message to far more then just christians.

no. theyre not a christian band. theyre all christians but their music is not christian. that doesnt mean it doesnt have anything to do with God. just that their music is neither christian nor secular. just music. but you can definitely see that these guys love God in their music. instead of making "christian music" they make music and let their relationship with God flow into songs naturally. hope that helps.

I listen to a lot of "christian" bands but I would never label these guys that. I get really annoyed when some of my friends at school refuse to listen to them 'cause they think they're "bible bashers" like me, and then when they do hear them they're like, wow.

I'm sorry, but switchfoot isn't only my favorite artist, they're my heroes. The reason they don't want to be labeled as Christian or political music is because that's what they want to bring people into. And Jon's voice is just so good, they're awesome!

If you label something "Christian," it tends to turn people off and make them not listen to it and think it's bad. Switchfoot doesn't want their music labeled Christian (they're not denying faith in Jesus) because non-Christians would be more likely to listen to it, thus making them less reluctant to get a dose of truth. It's quite a Christian intent to not be labeled Christian.
