There are several videos now where MSM news is reporting it because its so prevalent they have no choice. They also have a scientist explaining these sounds. Why have an official explanation if its all a hoax?
My first reaction to the videos of strange sounds was that it was all utter shit and I KNEW the religious zealots of the world would eat this shit up. I like this video, but I do have one question: If there were truly no sounds being heard by people all over the world, why did the news pick it up? Not unanswerable, but I'm curious.
By the way, I live in Alaska and there have been no such sounds here. Ever. Guess the angels missed us?

@HansensUniverse : Red State came out about 5 months ago - it's a Kevin Smith film where two young people hoax Revelation trumpets by hooking an iPod up to an old city siren (size of a small car) and blasted the eerie sounds toward the town to make the residents think Jesus was coming. I think some of these hoax videos stemmed from viral marketing for the film.
Supposedly the real ones, which I've heard on Coast 2 Coast AM radio station...recorded by actual investigators..are very low frequency range sounds...not haunting at all but very bass-like and vibrational. Real complaints from real cases are being reported from many different places but I think it is happening on a much more tamed level and these other people are obviously capitalizing off of what's really going on by using what is discussed here.

I agree not all of the videos out there are real but some of them are. watch the strange noises in Grenfell. That's real, I've been out there and heard the noises for myself. I was under the impression that the noises at the baseball game was from the wind or some other natural cause. But if people who were there attribute it to lightning screwing with the PA system, then there really isnt much room to argue with them since they were there. The other videos I considered BS because if a noise like that occured at that specific location then there should be THOUSANDS of video/audio recordings from diff. people in that location, NOT one person.
Debunk all you want. I would have considered your claim feasible until my wife and I heard these sounds in the sky here in Maryland on Jan 22 & 23 2012. It was the most freaky sound I have ever heard in my 50+ years. It was loud and has tremendous energy behind it. It came from the entire sky in every direction. It reverberated in your chest. It sounded nearly identical to the many videos from around the world. I would never have believed this story until I heard it for myself.
Well I guess these sounds are being hoaxed with loud speakers or something because I heard similar sounds several times from early March to early Sept of 2011, then they stopped. I suspected all the recent videos were hoaxes and I still have not been able to find out what made the sounds I heard. The air rushing in the stadium was not from the loud speakers. It was heard far from the stadium and even louder. I believe it was the sound of air rushing from underground tunnels that were destroyed.
