I've seen the film 'The Wrecking Crew' at five different screenings. It's a marvelous documentary that presents all of the musicians, singers, producers, arrangers and engineers in the highest regard. Unfortunately, Carol Kaye is coming off like an angry old woman rather than embracing the notoriety and respect that the film has given her
@reichardtaj There is a LOT more to the reason Carol is upset than what is contained in this short 1:26 sound bite. It only represents SOME not ALL of the 'Clique', shits on some and totally ignores MOST. Check out Carol's web site to learn about it.
@gemusic1 The film was created and told through Denny Tedesco, son of 'Wrecking Crew' guitarist, Tommy Tedesco. He assembled the musicians together seen in the film. There were many musicians, artists, arrangers, producers, arrangers, engineers, etc. who weren't shown because of the fact it's only a 90 minute documentary. Denny continues to interview and film those involved to be included as an outtakes DVD. I disagree with you, the film doesn't as you say, 'shit' on anyone.
@reichardtaj Thanks I know who created it, who his father was and that his dad was a member of 'The Clique'' (there was no such thing as the wrecking crew) but I'll stick with my comments. I'll take what Carol tells me anyday, as I said there is a LOT more than is told. Check out Carol's web site. PS telling the truth does not make you a 'angry old woman',
@gemusic1 I guess we can agree to disagree. As for the name 'The Wrecking Crew', whether they were called that back in the day or not, it is how they are known now, worldwide. It seems quite petty to grumble about that. Why aren't any of those involved; musicians, producers, etc., standing with Carol and what she believes? I think she will be the loser in the long run which is too bad. She's an amazing musician with a wealth of musical history.
@reichardtaj never have a problem with disagreement, I will be very interested in what the out-takes DVD contains as most of the former 'clique' no longer want to have anything to do with this project and often say so. Why is that? Carol is actually in the majority not in the movie not the minority in it. Why is that? you need to read Carol's site to get the full picture (not just a stupid name dispute, it is a lot heavier than that).

I would love to see this documentry. I would like to see if they give Jan Berry
credit for putting together these musicans. He was the first to start using them
as a group on any regular basis and was the one who convinced Brian Wilson to use them.
"Jan why are we waiting on this Keyboard player we both play " Well for $200 we can get the best keyboard player." While waiting for Leon Russell.
