  • That's wrong... Turn that Lp... That one is not Someday Somewhere.

  • @LimonFox I think your thinking of the song SOMEDAY, SOMEWAY..not SOMEWHERE.. this is a completely different song. also this is Wanda on Lead. the other Someday Someway had Gladys on Lead.

  • I love MM's dedication to one of the really great soul groups. And his choice here is great - one of the best Marvelettes songs, which is saying a lot. Kudos to you MM. Keep these coming and ignore the clueless idiots.

  • @ivycompton you know it!

  • @motonmaster-it`s my fav. as well dude! i remember, i brought the cd, transfered some songs on cassette to listen to when i travel. i went to buffalo ny. popped in the marvelettes, looking for someday, someway, and i recorded the wrong song, and I WAS GLAD TOO! i recorded this song instead, and NOW.......the best song on this cd, and next, don`t let hurting me a habit, and the rest follows, but the whole cd is great, but got no airplay...........SHAME!

  • How are things down in your mother's basement, son? Just play the damn tune, go back to beating off to cartoons, and shut the hell up already. We could care less about your geeky factoids, we just wanna hear the song.

  • @SeeburgMusic then buy the cd

  • @SeeburgMusic what a rude & ignorant person for posting a comment like that

  • i like your intros and hist on these rare records...wow late lp for globe label wish i even had all their lps period them and mary wells.....hard and expensive thx for sharing....30 yo old soul rock fan

  • @19Chuck80 The Marvelettes last 5 Lp's The Greatest Hits, The Marvelettes, Sophisticated Soul, In Full Bloom and Return Of The Marvelettes are all actually very easy to find and not that expensive, i found all those for under $10 bucks each, its the first 5 Lp's that are hard to come by, especially Marvelettes Sing....

  • @jsn82 this LP was on CD for a while, but its been outta print for a long time, if you have yahoo messenger i can send you the tracks to this LP

  • The Marvelettes have always been my favorite female group from Motown. Thanks for posting and thanks for the commentary.

  • you go ahead and do ya thing master. . .he or she are just mad because they cant steal it. i would love to own this single. and they would too!

  • i aint forcing you to watch this, so shut the fuck up, and watch someone else's vids if you dont like the commentary

  • gtfo

  • Can it get any better than this...so glad I was part of this era!

You can listen to the Marvelettes for a while when your depresed and get up feelin great with a smile on your face...try it

  • Love this song...Wanda could do no wrong on record. Once again I'm LOVING all the love The Marvelettes are getting i thought i was ALONE in my thinking that The Marvelettes are the GREATEST!

  • Thanks for posting, not heard this before, Wanda sounds heavenly. Do you know whos singing background, sounds like Miracles or quite possibly Temps. Whoever it is lush and georgous.

  • I love that you've posted this, with the intro. And it's one of their best. Stark, sad, very emotional song by the incredibly underrated Marvelettes. Wanda's vocal is so soulful and longing - beautiful!

  • this wouldnt of been a hit, it would just be a new thats how heart aches are made, it isnt as strong as the other songs on the lp.

  • My Absolute Personal FAVOURITE!!! Bravo!! Diggin' the hopsicords in the middle-Sounds like Count Dracula rising from the grave to give me a hickey!(LoL)Incidently, Gladys was replaced by the great Ann Bogan.

  • Incidentally, the UK release of Sophisticated Soul has an extended intro on "I'm Gonna Hold On As Long As I Can"

  • This should have definitely been a single. Would have been a big hit. That intro and vocal is very sweet, tender, and reminiscent of down-home soul with a northern twist. Also, very singlable like supreme records.

  • The song "My Baby Must Be a Magician" was also from that LP is found on one of the MM vids with is the original globe/record 45, not the one with the box. It's on right now!

  • It's always a pleasure to hear different oldies such as this from the marvelettes or any other group that didn't top the charts. I'd love to have the chance to listen to the b-sides and unreleased records from motown, that would be a dream for me!

  • MotownMaster, what year did they stopped using the globe & record side by side on the label after "Sophisticated Soul"?

  • actually it was around The Marvelettes "Pink" album they stopped using the globes, but if you look around you can find later LP's with the globes

  • you are truly a motown master

  • This LP "Sophisticated Soul" was the last LP to have the globe Tamla on the label side by side with a brown donut. But there were other copies that has the boxed Tamla label as well.

  • She was married to a guy who made her quit the group

  • Does Gladys sing lead on the album track, "I Need Someone" from the Marvelttes album of 1967. That song should have been a single.

  • Yes, that's certainly Gladys's warm, husky, commanding voice on "I Need Someone." The lyrics are a bit trite but her vocal is so fine it doesn't matter. A great one.

  • y was gladys replaced?

  • i think this one of Wanda's best songs
