  • very good.perfect!

  • that chamber has great acoustic sound :) great job

  • Beautiful. Nice!

  • wonderful playing! I really like your version of this piece. I think one thing to look for is the clarity of certain notes, specifically the ones that cause sympathetic vibration of other strings. Perhaps smaller vibrato oscillations to maintain ringing of these notes? Anyway, just a thought. Truly outstanding playing. ; )

  • Fantastic job. Love the timbre... needs a little more lower register for sure.. seems a bit shy. Love the rendition though.

  • Curious question?? How long playing the violin before they could play this piece of music.??

  • pro ! :D

  • gosh , wondeful violin good job

  • that is so beautiful!

  • Wow, this is beautiful!!!

    5 starts all the wayyyyyyyyy

  • Which movement is this?

  • Vocalise, Op. 34, No. 14

  • There aren't movements. It's one piece.

  • dobrej pokus:)

  • Beautiful...

  • nice tone

  • OMG beautiful!! I always loved the Volin and the paino together, they create such a beautiful sound together!!! so wonderful, great job!!.

  • absolutely amazing!

  • beautiful

  • Berkley?

  • univ of west fla

  • i'm dying listening to this... do you have a c.d?

i've for some reason fallen in love with the violin.

i love sergei, i'm trying to learn this tune and the violins in the 1st movement of the 2nd piano concerto. would love it if you and the lad could play that one...

pure bliss. i'm in another world.

    Mwa!

  • Am currently perfecting Racmaninov's Vocalise for my Grade 6 Sax. Is a lovely piece. Love the piece: must admit it is better suited to piano or violin as it was origionally inteneded. Very well played, Molly. xzx

  • omg its pretty... i played it in... then my teaher put me in second violin...

  • Vaguely related but do you ever look back on your old videos/recordings and cringe? Haha.

After seeing you perform during this past semester, though, I think you've come leaps and bounds in terms of stage presence, at the very least. I mean, yeah, this is from a year and a half ago, but still.

pointless comment is pointless hi i can has youtubes

  • Even with all the perlman's & vengerov's up on youtube I really really like your version! Thank you.

  • more than five stars!!!!

  • Beautiful work.

  • Absolutely beautiful!

  • great! work hard :D

  • Oooh. It's very pretty. :D And it does have emotion in it. Unlike what some people say. =]

  • I like very much the way you play this piece.

Is clear that you work a lot

    Congratulations!!!

  • Thanks for uploading, you help rehearse it to avoid angry flute teacher. Greetings from Russia :)

  • Absolutely amazing - both of you :)

  • Very beautiful

  • You have the same problem as me. We both seem to avoid playing at the lower part of the bow (several inches from the frog). That part can make such huge impact on the expression, which we are not fully utilising it...

  • True! This was a very difficult area for me. Still is! But I have been putting a huge amount of effort into fixing this problem over the past year, since the time this video was recorded and it's really come a long way. I practice my scales at the frog and do other exercises that have helped me a lot!!

  • Perhaps I should be doing the same :-)

  • Funny..

I have issues with getting to the tip of my bow.

    I have unusually short arms..

    :X

  • Great! awesome song thats sad but worth listening to.

  • Wow this is like one of my favorite pieces! It's so sad but worth listening to.

  • i love it x777!!!!!

  • Pretty.

  • Pretty.

  • Nice performance/pratice

    I get 1:33 a bit off too =P ugh

  • Beautiful performance. I am learning this piece at the moment and using your performance for inspiration! Oh, and the pianist doesn't appear to be wearing shoes or socks! Tell him he has lovely feet :-)

  • This was moving-captivating-convincing-simply beautiful. Excellent piano accompaniment and thoughtful violin playing.

  • that is awesome!

  • I believe you have caught the spirit of this piece. Your comparitively slow tempo adds an elegence missing in those performances taken at a faster pace. Your plaintive execution of the Poco piu mosso tugs at the heart strings as I believe the composer intended. You play this number very nicely and I greatly enjoy listening to it. One suggestion if I may: at bar 35 in the c-d-e sequence, perhaps more bow and an arm vibrato instead of a hand vibrato would add a little more intensity.

  • Very nice. I just got assigned this piece by my teacher yesterday. You are pretty good, considering this isn't the final thing. I wish I could have seen the final thing.

  • very expressive playing!bravo

  • Beautiful playing...you inspire me to practise my piano more !!!! Thanks and greetings from BC, Canada

  • really nice. Well played.

i will try to play it on the flute.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • The most beautiful performance witch i ever heard.I will waiting for more!!Cheers!

  • the sul g part was rough. how old are you?

  • I was 19 at the time this was recorded. This rehearsal was long before it was performed.

  • great job. You play beautifully.

  • WOw I'm amazed your are so good!!

  • What is the maker of your violin? It sounds great. Or maybe it sound better in a acoustic room?

  • Joanees Maria Valenzano, Roma, 1825. :) It is both a fantastic instrument and a great room that I am playing in that lend to the sound.

  • MOLLY!!! this sounds soooo great! its mark from uwf music camp! great job. sounds awessome kudos.

  • Haha, thank you Mark! You heard the "completed," more thought-out version of it at the camp, and I hope you enjoyed that more- this one sure has a lot of sour notes, doesn't it? lol! Hope to see you next year. :)

  • The piano player has understood NOTHING about this music. His movements and his emotion is totally displaced, it's horrible. And the violin is OK, but in my opinion, since the entire piece is only abozt emotion, you should really work on forte-piano changes and more articulated and differentiated emotions within the music. It's much too even.

  • I hadn't spent a lot of time with the piece when I recorded this. Neither of us had. I don't have a more recent recording, but I'd like to think that our later performance of the piece is much more thought out and understood. Who knows, maybe you'd feel the same about the finished product; but try to remember that this is just an early rehearsal :)

  • im having my grade six exam 2morrow and im playin this song!!!

  • i'm from The Netherlands (Holland) and you?

  • yesterday i had to play vocalise for violin exam. It irritate that you have never anough violinstick (or how you will call it in English?)for the long notes.

  • sneudel, in English they say "bow". Where are you from, by the way?

  • i love this piece

  • Nicely done! ^^

Playing this piece tomorrow morning... for string class's final solo exam... =)

  • i'm playing this piece for a wedding this coming saturday...but i'm not playing with a piano or any accompaniment. i hope it will sound swell. this piece has so much soul. it really needs a piano with it though, to sound the best

  • good job. im working on that song right now.

  • This is so good! You have beautiful vibrato, by the way. :)

  • very nice... bravo

  • you both sound great.... i want to play this!!!!! i need a pianist

  • Very well done. Enjoyed listening to you play. Sounded wonderful - keep up the good work!

  • Gorgeous.

    Wow.

    That is all.

  • his is a true thing that happens! its not a chain letter! its kinda scary at first but it really works!! paste this message into 3 comments and press ALT F4 and your crushes name will appear on the screen!!! its soo wierd!

  • very nice playing! it's a wonderful piece. and maybe it was just me but you seem kind of stiff.

  • Are you a violinist?

  • yea

  • Well, then I can't be whiny towards you, haha. I more easily maintain relaxation when I "move" less. I don't swivel all around like Joshua Bell, but I do what I have to.

  • Molly,

Never lose your sense of humor even when those around you seem to be losing theirs. You have wonderful gifts of music and comedy. Don't stop sharing them with us.

    Your Roommates Dad

  • Thanks, roommate's dad!

  • it's so pretty! i couldnt stop watching :) kuuudddooosss

  • Wonderful music! thanks
