@BlueMountain78 I'm working on a multiple maps of Evolution with some new Visual Wiki software and I expect different Integral stages to have their own versions.
@VirianFlux Sounds amazing, plz let me know how it goes, I'm really interested in these kind of maps. I was experimenting for a similar goal with prezi.com and thebrain.com. So far excited but not really satisfied with these solution ;). Cheers Markus
Great work this is an excellent video. I have thought of similar ideas from a religious perspective as a way to tame the heat between religions, that they are all simply the different facets on one jewel of universal spiritual/moral principles. All valid, but no one being the 'true' perspective.
That was a big jump at the beginning. You stated, in so many words, that if there are so many different perspectives, and if our perspectives "evolve" over time, then there is therefore a higher perspective to be discovered. There isn't a logical connection between those suppositions...
The thing about truth is, it doesn't exist, it's a myth. Mankind only has perceptions and beliefs. You look at a pen and say it is blue, I say it is plastic, she says it's a tool, he says its cylindrical. What's the truth? Depends on your perspective. I can argue mine with measurements, a dictionary, expert commentary and a lawbook to prove my perspective, but that doesn't change your perception of the pen being blue.
it doesnt sound like a bad idea...but this is happening everday there is a new book out that does this...i think that diversity is good but not at the expense of truth...or the truest meaning...there should fist be a book or seceral that form the truest meaning of the world..."""skeleton"""and then your idea would be fleshy
This seems to be a well-intented idea; however, you can't "cookie-cut" difference world view points, customs, traditions, and spiritual beliefs into some mathematical " world model" and deem the remaining unneeded viewpoints as depreciated. There are some society that deem the jailing and killing of homosexuals, religious blasphemies
and others as the proper conduct of a well-adjusted society--do we incorporate this in the world view as well?
Flamboyantjoe: Thanks for the comment. The last thing a more evolved world view should do is throw out people's perspectives. I agree. But surely, we can step back and see common threads running through some of these worldviews. Killing homosexuals, for example...We both agree that it is a morally low worldview that supports such acts. That classification of "morally low" means we agree there is a "morally high". We have a spectrum of moral values, right?
One distinction in SDi the video fails to mention is the difference between beliefs, actions and motivation. All belief systems have positive and negative expressions (actions). It's not the expression (killing gays) that is to be incorporated, but the system in which the expression comes from. Focusing on the positive expressions.
Awesome video. It looks gorgeous, and it's a great introduction to integral as well. Fine job! I checked out your site, too. Very nice! I hope Ken Wilber would be proud.
cool!
