  • @TheShagsJam I shall be their bass player

  • they need a bass player

  • good cover the vocal melody change is retarded though

  • Kinda like what Jimmi Hendrix's version would sound like (better guitars probably, but hey, you can't beat perfection!)...

  • The video to this is actually how you feel when ur beyond drunk !

  • the dirty version love it

  • love this version, love the beatles, black keys do the dam the thing :D

  • danke für das chillige video. ist das ehrenfeld? hat mir im fernen argentinien einen wahren heiatflash gegeben, danke dafür!

  • pretty damn good cover

  • This is a cool cover of a great song. 'Nuff said.

  • I like my covers like I like my sex.

    Sloppy and soulful.

  • Sadly, Lennon would NOT be proud of this. He was a bit of a self righteous ass hole that was more aware than anyone that he was extremely talented.

  • @donflarpy did you know him well then

  • because i like the beatles song and i wanted to hear how they covered it. Theres been a buncha hype surrounding the black keys and i dont get it...I guess i wanted to check em out and see what all the fuss is---as usual, im not missing anything here.

  • @flowerdoodle apparently you don't appreciate a good blues band when you hear them, no problem, move along chump

  • @flowerdoodle they played that 9 years ago. If you wanna listen to one of the best black keys songs listen to Little Blue Submarines

  • They are wayyy overrated!! I think this white boy is shameless in his karaoke rendition of Jimi Hendrix covering The Beatles. He has that generic, freeze-dried, "black soul" voice. I saw these blokes open up for Beck in the 2004 or so and I thought they were mediocre and really just copying The White Stripes gimmick; even their name was too similar for my comfort! Yawn!!!!!!!!

  • @flowerdoodle so why are u here?

  • @flowerdoodle man, i am with you these guys dont have "it " . I hate the voice, and the playing is amateurish compare to the classic rock great and even obscure classic rock bands. Kids are causal listeners and no shit

  • @tele757

maybe you can use the casio momma bought your dumb ass to make some better tunes??

  • @tele757 Lol

  • @flowerdoodle Overrated? Hmmm...I don't recall ever hearing The Black Keys on the radio everyday, hell I only know a small handful of people who have only "just heard" of The Black Keys! Or were you referring to their 3 grammys they won as being overrated? Trust me, there's a reason The Black Keys are still around and the White Stripes aren't...

  • @Cshizzle94 hey now. personally i love the whites stripes just a little more than the black keys. the "reason" they split was because of Meg's severe anxiety issues. it was not from a lacking fan base or bad music i assure you.

  • okay anyone who thinks this version is better than the Beatles then you have problems i mean this version is awesome but nothing beats the Beatles.

  • @SeanTMonty sure it does....but its not this its govt mules version of it. and before you say nothing is better than the original....diet dr pepper is, well at least thats what they tell me ;)

  • rotating leslie speaker?

  • friggin wicked!

  • this is by far their best album. i personally was dissapointed with brothers

  • @detharmy666 brothers is a hell of an album, soulful. they say there next album is gonna be completely rock and roll though

  • @dannymagoo8 i dunno, i felt like it was lacking the gritty authenticity of albums such as the big come up and thickfeakness

  • This is an awesome cover. I love how they put a different spin on the song, that's what covers are all about anyway. They did a really cool job on this.

KEWL BEANS!!! Lol, love it :)

  • This is a great cover

  • Is it bad I like this version better?

  • @TERRIBLEPRODUCTIONSS No, because this version IS better

  • @MegaCappuccio thats bullshit, this is good, but its got nothing on the original

  • Lennon would be proud.

  • @Sparkz49 Hendrix would also

  • This is alright. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but it's Black Keys-ish. And there giving it their own style which I'll take over some "American Idol" contestant trying to sing this!

  • Beatles came straight out of blues and old rock and roll, it's rather appropriate that this band is covering them, only the bluesiest and rockiest can cover such greats!

  • they totally own this song

  • I have been back here so many times it's bordering on obsessive.

  • these guys are gonna be great at COACHELLA 2011

  • Gotta love hearing the Beatles all bluesed up. Check out my cover of this awesome song if you get the chance.

  • Best cover i've ever heard

  • Quite possibly my favorite Beatles cover.

  • I love the Black Keys, but I didn't think this was a great cover. It was the "When I was a boy" part that killed it for me.

  • there's a Jimmy Hendrix feel to this recording

  • @fattirevsbud theres a jimi feel to everthing about the black keys. cant help to love em

  • ahhww man I was looking forward to dan really belting out "when I was a booOOOOOoooyyyyy"

  • video: good idea bad location !

  • fucking unreal. Black Keys kill it. And I agree, they are saving rocknroll. We needed music like this

  • Well cool. Discovered these guys recently and already have all their stuff. Can white men sing the blues? Bloody stupid question!!!

  • check out MrBeatlesCovers here on youtube for Govt mules 7 minute version

  • Check out Govt Mule's version, but I like this to

  • That's how you cover a song. Make it your own while keeping the integrity of the original. Otherwise it's just karaoke.

  • Great cover !!!!!!

    Thank you papdicsaba

  • @americasasylol tell me how "unknown brother", "you're the one" and "the lengths" are not played from the heart?! you sir are a hater, and haters gonna hate.

  • I like it. And i normally hate anyone who tries to cover Beatles. They actually put their own spin on the song instead of trying emulate it.

  • @americasayslol your comments crack me up. hipster isnt a genre of music, its a culture. many hipsters are in bands and play music, but that doesnt mean that its all the same. you make me wonder how much youve actually listened to the black keys. if youre going to call them posers, at least have a reason. check out "the lengths" and if you really still feel that way, just say you dont like it, cause they definitely arent posers. lastly, stop calling people "noobs" youre embarrassing your self.

  • @mclethin im fully aware that "hipster" is not a genre of music. these guys are cute little indie rockers who walk around sportin ray bans. well im here to say fuck that. lets forget the ego behind rock music and start playing from the heart. Fuck your stupid hipster culture. Fuck all these assholes who want to play the BLUES. you goddamn NOOB.

  • where is this video shot?

  • Hard to make a Beatles song sound this fresh. Well done.

  • this really sucks. "these guys are single handly saving rock and roll"

Listen to Clues or Man Man, they are saving rock n roll. not this stupid HIPSTER band.

  • @americasayslol Hipster isn't a genre of music, and these guys aren't hipsters. Haters gonna hate.

  • @FriendlyFantom its is a hipster band, noob. and these guys are a big ton of poserzz

  • @americasayslol ever hear of man man or the unicorns, noob??? maybe of montreal's satanic panic in the attic.

    now thats some klassik shit

  • @FriendlyFantom only a hipster would make that kind of comment.

  • @americasayslol possibly the two worst bands i have ever heard of in my life, im a HUGE rock/blues fan and i'll tell ya that type of music, whatever you want to call it, "hipster" so have you, is destroying rock n' roll. I would rather listen to Nickelback, now give me back the 10 mins of my fucking life that you had me waste on listening to liberal art queers prancing around drinking starbucks and beating on bongo drums... and please for the love of god DONT call that rock n' roll.

  • Comment removed

  • @qaeggink i was actually referring to the bands that he suggested, the black keys are fucking great. Im sorry that you don't see that!

  • @TheRealWanDeezy whoops!

  • As for the Hendrix influence that some people criticize, I hear a lot of it in this particular song. Especially with the vocals. It's really hard to pin down covers of The Beatles. Some people stray way too far away from the essence and sound, while some like to deviate only slightly while still keeping the structure in tact. The latter is how it's done and this bluesy twist is very enjoyable. The Black Keys truly are a musical rarity in this generation of rap, noise and talentless kids.

  • They sound like a bar band. Raw and loud. I like this shit!

  • This song is about a John Lennon meets Peter Fonda acid trip.

  • i like this cover better than beatles'.... they sound kinda like deep purple or sumthin

  • This is definitely one of the best covers out there

  • Awesome cover!!!

  • Happy to see I'm not the only one that hears Hendrix!!!

  • @shannonjl i hear deep purple

  • @shannonjl i hear the beatles....it seems like when some people hear electric blues music, its automatically....."sounds like Hendrix". Honestly, I like the Black Keys and I hear very little Hendrix influence on any of their albums...just a few riffs here and there, but not much at all..he doesnt use a wah pedal, or the riffs just arent hendrix . I guess I don;t fault you because not everyone can know better, and most people havent been exposed to alot outside the "classic rock cannon"

  • the black keys are fuckin geniuses. plain and simple. i wish there was more bands like this.

  • I hear crosstown traffic from Jimi Hendrix, a little bit haha

  • Oh my god, I though Beatles covers were sins. I actually found one I liked :o This is damn impressive.

  • this is one hundred percent better than the original. I love the Beatles, but this cover is amazing, as are the Black Keys

  • This gives a bluesy flavor to a Beatles favorite. I like it.

  • This is a great song. Nothing beats the original! OMG...

  • @bjsd23666 i would not say its better than the original, but its good

  • Yesterday I heard Howlin' Wolf for the first time, and the Black Keys now make THAT much more sense to me. I recommend him!

  • @MonroeCt HOWlin wold is one of the greatest blues artists....singers of all time!!!!

  • @ksimo05 agreed B) I didn't care as much for his full band arrangements as I did his more stripped down work, but that growl is undeniable.

  • Messed with the song way too much. Not that good...

  • Nice little trivia tidbit, about how the band got it's name! (In their case - thank God for people who "aren't quite right"!)

  • fucking killer

  • Guy I used to work with turned me on to these guys! Love the groove theyre putting out! 60s Garage band soul flavor with the blues! Hey Chris thanks man!

  • I first heard them on the NHL 08 soundtrack (Just Got to Be). The black keys completely blow me away!

    Thanks Electronic ARts.

  • nimrods

  • if jimmy hendrix would live anymore, he would sounds exactly like the black keys... extreem cool!

  • YAH!!! BEATLES COVER!!!

    an awesome one too

voice is too fuzzy but whatever, thye amde it their own

  • my uncle turned me on to the black keys, first time i heard them i loved the, went and bought this album and theres only one word to describe them.....beautiful.

  • didn't much get into my generations music some stuff grunge, i always dug my moms generation. I really love the black keys, throwback to that time, im from the south but now reside in the north so the blues are home for me. thanks black keys for putting out something significant in our generation. rock on!

  • damnnn i fucking love this. the black keys are fantastic

  • Yes I agree thothbaboon...black keys have that vintage vibe to them....they got some good blues going on...and I just can not get over the fact how true their lyrics are. :)

  • well this is actually a beatles song :P but yeah it's great

  • I'm aware of that....I was saying 'in general' (:

  • my all time fav beatle song done really cool

  • These guys are single handly saving rock and roll

  • are you fucking crazy? not they arent nimrod

  • @chetporterhouse Check out the Jim Jones Revue...Rock and Roll Psychosis and the Princess and the Frog...London band...record live on 4 track...See 'em live and your jaw will hit the deck

  • @chetporterhouse These guys are the best and only new band out there!

  • @chetporterhouse check out government mule

  • @chetporterhouse easily

  • @chetporterhouse

<3 I agree. They are a breath of fresh air

  • @chetporterhouse

No way, they're getting a lot of help from Jack White.

  • @chetporterhouse single handly, yet they in total posses 4 hands

  • @chetporterhouse Hahaha...what a dumb statement. While there are worse acts out there, I dont understand the hype behind these guys. I hate it when white singers try so hard to affect their voice to emulate black singers to give it a soulful edge. Its embarrassing. He's lying and acting the part of something thats real and natural to the black singers. I dont like black artists tryin to sound white and I dont like when whitey tries to sound black.

  • @flowerdoodle So only black people are allowed to sing the blues? He sings how he wants to sing, not because he is trying to emulate black singers. His voice has soul because HE has soul, not because he is pretending.

  • @flowerdoodle stop talkin utter shit

  • I discovered them a year ago, and like them getting their name origin, I'm supposed to be schizophrenic. I doubt that, but at 55 never mellowed with rock. I love these guys! Maybe it's us who are tuned in. The others don't know what they're missing. A closed book. I'm glad I stayed open to evolve with this. The Black Keys are one of my top 10 favorites.

  • this is aweomse!

I just recently discovered this band...they should be more popular (but im kind of glad they arent).

I didnt know modern bands could bring such awesome 70 sound!

you know its a compliment when I like your Beatles cover...paha :)

  • cover or not, this song is amazing

  • Excellent cover, and The Beatles are pretty hard to cover properly.

  • I don't like too many Beatles covers, but this one totally rocks!!

  • @lastflightof79 you heard of the hot rats.... they covered drive my car.... pretty good

  • vnloerstr?

  • simplemente

    buenisimo !

  • welche stadt is das?

  • my guess would be Akron Ohio USA. Just a guess

  • has to be europe. can't see enough of the street signs to see what language.

  • pretty sure its germany lincence plates and street sings are german

  • It's Cologne. Walking from U-Bahn Körnerstr to Piusstr. I guess. Never been there but there are two U-Bahn signs you can guess from with some phantasie. I can be wrong though.

  • good good they sound like back in the 70`S most time but great that two guys

  • ha ha! if they "sound like back in 70s " is not a con but a pro !

  • Awesome! Love the original, and love this version.

  • It doesn't suck as all, in fact, it's outstanding!

  • I love the beatles, i haven't heard any great covers but this is good.

  • It's on The Big Come Up cd

  • This is how you do a great cover of an already great song. You make it different!

  • goodness this fuckin kills

  • love this love this love this!

  • She said i know what its like to be dead I know what it is to be sad and shes making me feel like i never was born i said who put all those things in ya head things that make me feel like Im mad and its making me feel like I never was born she said you dont understand what i said I said no no no you wrong when I was a boy everything was right everything was right I said even though you know what you know I know that Im ready to leave cuz ya makin me feel like I never was born she said she said

  • this is so my favorite song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is a fucking awesome beatles cover, the only better beatles cover I can think of is Joe Cocker's With a little help from my friends

  • Yeah I agree. Cocker also does a pretty good version of 'She Came in Through the Bathoom Window'

  • who are the Beatles?

  • okay now we fucked it

  • Did you seriously ask Who are The Beatles? No no... I can't believe anyone could possibly ask that.

  • Dude. WTF...

  • dudes, hes probably just fuckin with us. ...chill folks, smoke a bowl

  • When i was a boooooooyyyyyyyy!!!! Dan flaked out on that bit.

  • ur a moron

  • i hope you were drunk or high when you wrote this.

if not, you have a serious problem even joking about something like that.

  • lol. u fucking silly bastard

  • for 2 guys....they fuckin rock. in fact they are better than most people with 3 or more people in the band.

  • My favorite band that is out now!!! I love this music!!! They have a Janis Joplin feel on this cover of the Beatles!!! Stellar!

  • shit talkinz on the interwebs are serious business!

  • excellent vid!...

  • haha u have downsyndrome

  • I think this is the best [derivative sounding blues rock] cover version ever!

  • best band around right now. Soon people will realize what REAL music is

  • Real music is The Beatles, not The Black Keys...

  • I agree The Beatles are great, but hmm.. are the Beatles still around? nope. so your reply is jibberish

  • Yes, the Beatles are technically still around. Music doesn't die, the players do.

  • Beatles have nothing to do with this.... These guys are awesome regardless

  • I'm pretty sure they are both real

  • To set the record straight, The Black Keys make great music! If you like the Beatkles, you can easily like the Black Keys. If you don't fine, but the "non-music" comment is just so much nonsense.

  • The Black Keys are the best blues/rock duo out today...bottom line, end of story...no comments please.

  • the beatles wrote about 30 epic songs, thats kinda shite considerin how many they recorded... some killer, a lot of filler. this version is much better then the beatles dull version

  • why do people get the thumbs down just for voicing their opinion?
