  • Hey guys come check out my vids & tell me what u think :) thanks

  • now i know 84 ppl who dnt hv brainz

  • oh yeah baby, i love this song!

  • What a VOICE!!! She sang this song with her eyes, too....oh yeah! FEVER!!!! FEVER...what a lovely way to burn....

  • We got to sing this song for a jazz contest in choir..it was.EPIC

  • I think that this recording of peggy lee and fever is brilliant. What else can i say?

  • the way she don't move her head is mad, yup..... good shit!

  • Cool, cool LADY. No one like her.Long live Peggy Lee's music.

When I first heard this song in the late 50;s, couldn't get enough!

  • this is music ladys and gens..love how she changes the rythmn in her singingand taking the song higher.. and her creativity.this song is one of the absolut sexiest songs ever been written

  • It's not as simple as not listening to music that is shoved down your throats, which is why people are complaining (there's no escape to it). I mean I wouldn't mind to see another artist do songs like this and older hits for music today, it's just that not many take the time to look into being creatively different. If one leads, then one will follow, and that's how good music started to decline (people care for the characteristic/look of the artist rather than their quality of music).

  • I just Looove her, her music is my savior :)

  • totally super cool lady..

  • classic love it

  • Ela dava fever *--*

  • Oh, what a lovely way to burn.

  • crank decibals on studio ver especially

  • Check out the very different version of the same song with a twist by The Cramps. It's something how artists can go in different directions with a medium or even with a song.

  • THis has got to be the sexiest song ever created...coming from a 23 year old, that's saying something! Legendary song

  • i just love the way she sings..the way she pronounces the words...

it just has so much allure and attitude...and she does it so effortlessly!

  • perfection

  • You just cannot beat the best.....fantastic !!!

  • Diese Frau hat sowas von Style :D... hammer x3

  • one of the classics sung by a very classy and beatiful lady. Nuff said!

  • 82 retards that use Youtube and dont know music...

  • Love this song, the music and her voice are perfect!!

  • Its a Great song but the drummer is not even playing? watch 217 he misses the two top toms.

  • @20courtplaza The drummer did not miss the two top toms, he plucked them in stead of hitting them to get a different sound. Do you know how famous a drummer Jack Sperling was?

  • @blackfoot71 Buddy Rich wishes he was Jack Sperling.

  • NIIIIICE!!!!

  • Only three performers. But they get a good sound. All three are very professional. You can tell that they are working for a living. Not like performers today that thinks the world owes them a living.

  • She comes up there and puts the microphone in the stand. I don't remember any singer doing this. They usually hold the microphone like it's a phallic substitute, and put it right against their mouth.

At times, on television broadcasts, you might see a microphone hanging on a boom from above. That's really the microphone that being used. You notice that when she puts the microphone in the stand that there is no rubbing noise. So the mike was dead, at least then.

  • @FirstClassSkeptic I'd always thought the amplification was so strong that the mike would howl on its own if it were allowed to hear the amplified sound. A person with a real voice, in a venue that's a bit more civilized, can use a more distant microphone. There are some small theatres (about 200 seats) so well built that a singer with no very great voice (myself) can be heard all over, without amplification.

  • This is heaven.

  • i love how shes still snapping hahaha she does in her why dont you do it riht video too. and all the time hahha <3

  • OMFG!!!! This is SUPERB!!!

  • "Music is my life's breath."

  • Am I the only one who's hella sick of seeing bitching about Lady Gaga or Justin Beiber as top comments on a classy tune like this? If you don't like someone else's music, don't listen to it! It's existence isn't gonna make the music you like any less great!

  • @SputnikMonkey I agree with the notion that bitching online doesn't help things. But the trashy music's existence drowns out the genuine artists. With more trash on the radio, there's less time for artists/songs with class. ;_;

  • @SputnikMonkey This Lady does it best!!!

  • @SputnikMonkey rofl, justin bieber aint music

  • stifflers mam :0

  • Oh man, her eyes at @1:01. She is so stunning.

  • That nod Peggy gives at 25 seconds was cool.

  • Peggy mama^^<33

  • I'm surprised that Mic shadow hasn't doubled in size during this video

  • @windupkitty Hey! its jason, when I saw the name on this comment I knew it was you. How amazing is it to see this video on here. I really miss him.

  • I use to sing this song all the time when I was younger....this is real music not like now a days.

  • That is one cool bass. Makes the song. Drummer is just plain stupid good. Not to mention Peggy. This, my friends, is music.

  • he is absolutely rocking the shit out of that bass!

  • Great perfomance, pure. Something for Adele?

  • 77 people have hypothermia

  • nice dormer.

  • hmmm looks like there are 77 schmucks out there

  • 77 People don't have the fever.

  • LOVE HER

  • another great unique singer/ only one Peggy Lee/ the great jazz singer/ even if you happen to be someone who doesnt care for Jazz/ Peggy will make you fall in love with Jazz/ ive watched her younger version of fever and its good for sure / nut this is the best version when shes alittle older/ the one i remember as well/ it is true for all singers as they get older their voice matures like a fine wine. becomes better with time / it seasoned / deeper voice/ only one Peggy Lee No immitations

  • Chingona y media. Wow, Que mujer!

  • womans a pure genius

  • They sound incredible! Jack Sperling is killing it.

  • Sperling at 2:28 :)

    Love it

  • love it!!!!!

  • Is that awesome or what??

  • She's like the high priestess of cool. I love how she occasionally turns to look at the bass player, like "Ya with me, kid?"

  • notice how classy women used to keep the clothes on...wish we could get this back and just focus on the music

  • Peggy is the hottest!!

  • Adele sort of reminds me of Peggy Lee. Same kind of classy style, jazzy sound. Love em both. One of my favorite songs of all time, this.

  • I'd like to be that microphone shadow

  • sexy!

  • Un brano diverso dagli altri...... melodicamente "essenziale"!

  • Double bassist looks like my chemistry teacher

  • @fortuna068 you're nuts. You wouldn't know a good song if it slapped you in the face. It's okay. You're young. You have plenty of time to develop some class and taste.

  • Forever the greatest

  • the greatest version ? she made many versions all of them 'the greatest'

  • This is one of greatest things I have ever seen

  • theres no other version that is as good as this . i llove this song so much! to bad we dont have singers who can sing so smooth and sensual like this with simple music.

  • Gaga? Madonna? LOL! Ditch pigs.

This what women were like before the weenie-boy gamers from the bubble-wrapped suburbs dragged America into the metro-sexual age of confusion.

  • @dharryg

Lee doesn't need to strip half naked to make this song sexy

  • BEST VERSION OF FEVER EVER HANDS DOWN.

    IS INDEED

    PEGGY LEE.

  • @nissan300zxkid

Hmmm .. I use to think so til I listened to the Ray Charles ft. Natalie Cole version

BUT... now that I come back to this one, I cant choose!! This one is A LOT faster than their version...

  • @DexStanT Yah.. ray charles is okay.. i think..

i love this version tho. the way that original tone and bass are.

jus ,lovely and her voice is perfect. it has that original flow.

  • @nissan300zxkid

hmmm yeah fair enough, well, then guess its lucky we can listen to both eh :)

  • @DexStanT i kno right, hahaaha at least its good music where debating over lol

  • @nissan300zxkid

    Yes! :)

  • @DexStanT this music nowadays is nothing compared or is going to be nothing in the next 60 years. and im only 19 lol.

  • @nissan300zxkid

Todays 'music' sucks.. *well mainstream music anyway

Hahaha.. I'm 16, and glad to have known this song for years :D

  • @DexStanT yes it does, lol aww and ur only 16 i would have never thought, that is really rare lol and because im 19 too that is so crazy lol, im latisha nice too meet u my new friend lol

  • @nissan300zxkid

  • The Coolest Broad singer of all time.

  • @bettyford13 haha amen my friend! lol I woulda killed to be @ this show! and others in this time...dang I was born too late haha

  • FEEVAH

  • cool woman ...

  • drummer is fantastic!!!

  • wow all three were great! esp that drummer!

  • I Think This Is The Sexist Version!!!

  • I like doing this song at karaoke...its slow, sassy & fun; plus its got a nice beat, such a classic too. Many different artist's have covered this song...which shows/proves how good it is. Also, it makes you want to move...or at the least, snap along to the beat...enjoy.

  • She has trouble finding the proper camera. Love it, though! :)

  • @Seeting No trouble at all -- when she looks up or into the distance, that's part of the way in which she usually sang the song. Those looks are meant to suggest defiance, sensuality, etc. :)

  • El baterista es un SHOW, que onda !!.

  • Was one of a kind. Loved her and did much of her tunes!! R.I.P.

  • She is just so beautiful. Very intoxicating woman.

  • I dunno i love all the fever covers, but the James Brown fever is just too funky!

  • She was hot, bassman cooked but that percussion was over the top!

  • i think peggy lee`s and elvis version are the best!!

  • Oompfff...ms Peggy Lee was still a very dishy lady at that age!! And still excellent singer of course....

  • @sendanor Second! So moved; motion is passed!

  • nice hand-drumming

  • yea, I burn forsooth, forsooth. what a rhyme!

  • flawless

  • its just so cool. The bass leads the sound and makes the key change in the most simple way... just ooozes cool along with peggy lees dead pan attitude.

  • Drums, a double bass, and Peggy Lee. No snythethizers, certainly no voice augmentation. Quite simply, class, which we never really see these days-musical or otherwise.

    Thanks for posting this treasure.

  • @petclark1 I love that you point that out -- if you listen to the studio recording, in the studio they would have had MAYBE five tracks although the finger snaps and percussion overdubs may have been on the same track... so there would have been Bass, Vocal (no double tracks for Peggy), and Percussion (snaps and occasional percussion overdub of handdrum or bass drum) and THAT'S IT folks. AMAZINGLY classy.

  • @petclark1 No augmentation? Where do you think the snapping is coming from? :)

  • @toresbe Funny, but I don't remember saying anything about the finger snapping. Try to find fault with this exquisite performance if you must-but please leave me out of it...tonight, I'm too busy listening to some of Miss Lee's Lp's from the 60's and feel like I've gone to heaven.

  • @petclark1 I'm not finding faults with the performance, I'm finding faults with your rose-tinting. :)

  • @petclark1 Whatever.

  • Whats on fire, whats the hurry.

  • Coolest drummer ever...

  • so very hard to believe . . . this song was considered way too RACY

    Back Then!!!

how far we have come OR, how backwards We Are . . .

PERCEPTION is the way we make it!!!

  • *The One and Only Miss Lee: Cool, Class, Sassy, Sexy !!

  • the drummer, jack sperling, played with les brown's band for years, then he just freelanced, playing pretty well wherever he wanted, he was born in new orleans, and like all new orleans drummers, he had a natural built in sense of rythmn and time. ray bauduc was also another new orleans native son.

  • OOOOOZZZZIIINNGGG WITH SEX!

  • Grace, skill, elegance - captivating!

  • I am not a jazzfan but i love this song .

  • I've only recently discovered the lovely Peggy from the great 'Is that all there is', but real class, and yes that drummer is smooth.

  • simply effortless!

  • Peggy Lee had a big Hit with this in 1958 when it was on the charts for 15 weeks. This video is from the late 60's but not the song. Little Willie John recorded it in 1956. Great Find and great post! Thanks!

  • Peggy Lee had a big Hit with this in 1958 when it was on the charts for 15 weeks. This video is from the late 60's but not the song. Little Willie John recorded it in 1956. Great Find and great post! Thanks!

  • Pure magic ♪♫ ♥ ♫♪

  • Thou giveth fever. Awesome!

  • Thou giveth fever. Awesome!

  • She's so effortless, love her!

  • Peggy always made it look so easy and as though she was having a blast!!!

  • I really like it when she turns round to have a look at her two men ! What a complicity !

  • the original drummer on her recording was shelly manne, i believe.

  • Nobody like her, Ella, Judy, Sarah, Lana etc. around any longer. What a shame. And, BTW, thanks for posting. Awesome!

  • class....just class !!!!

  • Her eyes dance.

  • :) string bass is so amazing!

  • Elvis sings it BETTER!!!!

  • @e34krazy No he doesn't!

  • Runs too fast to follow.

  • she's so elegant! :)

  • Wonderful.........In This day of no talent, trashy noise, This song wouldn't even get air play. Thanks for a Classy Vid.

  • "The Killer Diller" A challenge to watch. Peggy's smokin' hot, then your peepers fall on Sperling tappin' those skins. I can't stay focused, ha. Really, this is Peggy's song. There should be a law against anybody else tryin' to sing it.

  • How good is that? Just great stuff!!!

  • This is the best upload I've been able to find. This voice has haumted me all my life.

  • goddamn, the drummer owns

  • Ms. Lee, you give me awesome

  • Boy, all the others try too hard on this one.

  • Boy, all the others try too hard on this one. Except for Madonnoa who seemed not to have a clue. I just recall she dressed up like the Statue of Liberty in the Fever video.

  • Awesome comping by the drummer! First jazz song I've seen performed with no ride cymbal! Thanks for posting.

  • She speeded this song up as years passed, as is the case here. It's too fast. Maybe just to get through it. It might have been burdonsome to her, a performer and writer of enormous creativity, to have to do the same song over, over, over again.

  • Thanks for sharing this jewel!!!

  • I wish I knew who the drummer was so I could check out his other stuff, but I'm sure he's been dead at least 30 years.. He's just so smooth.

  • @owlcu Hi ... The drummer is Jack Sperling , as stated above .

  • @puglet7 Thanks, I was too into the song to look anywhere else.

  • died 2004

  • @owlcu i love peggy lee

  • @owlcu Yeah, he must have been at least fourty in this video.

  • @owlcu Jack was tops. My style of drumming. He went to the rhythmic angels in 2004. Love his drumming forever. John-hans Melcher "theQuietDrummer"

  • @owlcu he died in 2004...

  • @digitalportugal Thanks, though sadly I am sure he will be missed by many. Do you know who else he might have performed with? I'm guessing he was from the elite big band scene (50's?) because this looks like a piece of cake for him.

  • @owlcu I went to wikipedia check him out, he performed with all the big stars, James Brown, Sammy Davis Jr and much more :)

  • @owlcu I had the pleasure of working with Jack a few times. In addition to the Tonight Show, Ella, and too many other big names to list, he's heard to great advantage on a lot of the Pete Fountain recordings.

  • @TheBassweasel Hey, thanks. I really like his style and hope to see and hear more of him.

  • @owlcu . The drummer is my father, Jack Sperling. He did pass away in 2004. You are right he was smooth

  • @starfish948 He was a class act!

  • @starfish948 He was absolutely awesome. You must be very proud! Thanks for posting.

  • @starfish948 You're 21? So your dad was 68 when he had you?

  • @starfish948 Your dad was and is one of my favorite drummers, and one of the most unsung drummers. His session work with Henry Mancini and others was the epitome of taste

  • @drumuitar i agree totally! he was an incredibly musical drummer...just made 'em sing...:)

  • @starfish948

    Awesome drums!!

  • @starfish948 must be good seein yer oul man like this

  • @janeymacrony It was an amazing find to see this video on here

  • @starfish948 Amazing performance from J.S. on this. And when he hits one of those kick drums of his you certainly know about it!Love it.

  • @starfish948 This is great music the drums ware sublime the don'y play this days.
