nice design man .But with nothing to hold the weals - so nothing can rotate them .. plus for a liftoff of 500 - 800 kg u need a much bigger "weals" . Good Luck
@roundedhalo if you turn the back wheels perpendicular and vertical to the main fuselage/body then it will act like a speed boat on water (provided the dynamics of the body are right and it has enough power). Laying flat/horizontal all the propellers when on water and reversing the thrust (from that of VTOL) will cause it to submerge but needs boyancy control to stay submerged.
Pretty cool animations, but the thrust props on the back two would probably be obstructed by the casing that they're in, and when it's grounded, it would be like a spitfire on the runway; you couldn't see over the front!
Maybe try having the two rotors at the front, and the one at the back, that way you could look between them...
Obviously this is my opinion, but it's still a great model!
@brightingsky2009 it could fly but will just require immense amount of thrust per weight ratio for VTOL. I doubt anyone has the technology for a light enough and poweful enough source of energy and powerful enough motors that are also light enough at that configuration and size of props.
I had that same Idea once. Except mine was fore wheels. The tires and rims are suppose to be slimmer and of a greater diameter. Plus in car mode the front wheel would experience a sideway thrust constantly throwing it of course. And the mechanic to render the switch possible is almost impossible.
haha, i too had a similar idea. and its impossible because there is no way that the tires can generate enough lift and rotate sideways at the same time while it is on the ground. however, with a four wheeled vehicle, you could do it from a dead stop, have 4 "legs" come down like landing gear and lift of the car, only fractionally, freeing up the wheels in order to take flight.
@BeastPWNedGaston You can. you just attach the another axel to a straight axel through the centre of the 'prop-wheel' then you can rotate it in xyz in any direction both prop and whell dependantly or indepedantly along any axis. Think of a spinning gyroscope...thats what it will prob look like!
Rather optimistic about reaching 98 arent you?.people were expecting to be piloting craft like this by 2000.But the current system worked ok and the powers that be were in no hurry to change it.
If you could get some glide time from a decent alt. you could pull off the switch. But that takes away the vertical landing option...Looks cool though!
wow going from one mode to the next could take some more engneering, without the aid of some knda caster wheel config,it doesnt seem possible.the sudden drop of thrust from eather one of the 3 could be catatrophic.

So many ignorant critics.
If they're so brilliant let's see their work!
Beautiful design.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we love flying?
(2) Why do we enjoy to drive a flying car?
(3) How will we benefit from flying car in the coming future?
(4) How will we use a flying car? (eg. travel oversea holiday, shopping...etc)
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

@pomeroy600287 a 'pilot wheel' just behind the front prop wheel would be better and leaving the front prop wheel flat while in 'drive mode'.
ogicabp4u 1 year ago
@ogicabp4u
yeah that's probably better, although the back two would have to contra-rotate so that at high speeds it didn't get blown sideways across the road!

There's promise in this concept car. It suggests an aerodynamic hull supported with helicopter fans that double as wheels. Well done!
billamu 2 years ago
All you need is road debree destroying the fan props.

@ltcurry Who is Debree? why ask her? Most women / wives will destroy your wheels anyway if you make them angry enough!
